Believe it or not I've been on weekend hiking trips with a shared evening meal and dessert has been fruit dipped in chocolate fondue. For saying people like to hike light that's some going because fruit is so heavy. But it's always popular and quite a good way to laze around on a summer evening when you've done a long day's walk. You'd think it would be messy to clean the pan out but strangely enough there is never a shortage of volunteers to clean that pan.
Twinky! I'd be first in line to volunteer, myself.
Not my thing, Shellon. I remember Mama and Daddy having fondue parties when I was growing up and there are a couple of really nice fondue restaurants here in town, but not really anything I've ever gotten all that excited over. I think I'm more of a BBQ kinda gal.

I think that fondue saw a resurgence in popularity about a year ago.
Now you see those chocolate fountains everywhere - but I'd just as soon do a chocolate fondue .
