This ones for my Dad. I just got back from his 91st birthday and he's still the biggest kid I know and always has been
He still has the enthusiasm of a 10 year old and still holds the wide eyed wonder of a child ---when its all stirred in with the wisdom of age it makes it quite a combination. I count myself as being very lucky
as usual, typically fabulous posts by great artists, from two of the usual song-of-the-moment's suspects!........thanks fellers!........here's one of my favorite taj tunes............
can't find taj's version of this old blues standard........which, imo, is the best, and definitely the one that forever popularized the tune..........this version, of all the ones i saw, comes closest to taj's original vocal version, and the backup band includes booker t and the mg's, matt "guitar" murphy, and the famous horn section.........the harp's not too bad waysider, but it sure ain't ni l'il walter!..........

The best banjo picker ever --- Bobby Thompson (wearing the brown hat).
The other banjo pickers are Roy Clark ----- still alive;
Dave Akeman (Stringbean) --- murdered in 1973, at age 58;
Grandpa Jones --- Died of a stroke in 1998 at age 85;
Bobby --- finally succumbed to MS in 2005, at age 68.

Every line in this song exemplifies him.
