Note carefully the lyrics of this song ("Run" by Kutless). It at first seems like a guy talking to a girl who's ignoring him, but you gradually realize it's the Lord talking to us.
Why do you run why do you hide oh don't you know I just,
Just want to be with you.
Looking down from above as you watch TV
Wondering why, oh you're ignoring me
Do you remember, remember when I came to you
And you loved me
And I'm waiting for you
And I'm waiting for you
Why do you run why do you hide oh don't you know I just,
Just want to be with you, to be with you
Hey, why do you run why do you hide oh don't you know I just,
Just want to be with you, to be with you...
Whatever happened to the love, the love you had for me
When you first came to me?
Don't you know that I died, died so I could be with you
Forever.
And I'm waiting for you
And I'm waiting for you
Why do you run why do you hide oh don't you know I just,
Just want to be with you, to be with you
Hey, why do you run why do you hid oh don't you know I just,
Just want to be with you, to be with you...
Find a place of solitude, and I'll speak to you
As you pray to me
Don't you know I'm waiting here, waiting for you to read
And hear my words
I'm waiting here missing the times, the times we shared
Oh, please come to me
So, why do you run why do you hide oh don't you know I just,
Just want to be with you, to be with you
Hey, why do you run why do you hide oh don't you know I just,
I had the pleasure of attending a solo show by John Hartford almost 40 years ago.
What an amazingly talented guy he was.
He played banjo, fiddle, guitar and even clogged on a piece of board as he played like one of those old fashioned Mr. Jazzbo toys that kids used to play with.
The world lost a great one when he passed on.
He had a way of telling a story and transporting you to some other place and time.
It was easy to forget that he was "performing" and just immerse yourself in the energy of the moment.

I was driving on the road mentioned in this song.
"the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston"
and thought of it for the first time in a very long time
Today "The Berkshires seemed dreamlike on account of that frosting"

I didn't know John Hartford wrote that! That's been covered so many times but I like his version best!
