I'd really love to say the rest of the song happened to me too, but (surprise) it didnt really -- at least not in Memphis anyway :)
Its a good tune though ----it reminds me of a lot of good times smoking various things in the 70's, which as much as Id sometimes like to forget it,(and sometimes do) apparently also really did happen.....
love Doobie Brothers' China Grove(actually city in NC). Also love Jim Morrison and the Doors' Riders in the Storm. gee, getting a little nostalgic for late 60's and early 70's. now thinking about tune Maggie May. yikes, flashback
Waysider, if you or David Miller can download this, would appreciate it. Why does my downloading things from YouTube and ITunes to Facebook, mySpace, and myYearbook does fine, but not here at GSC?
Fingal's Cave is a sea cave on the uninhabited island of Staffa, in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, part of a National Nature Reserve owned by the National Trust for Scotland. It is formed entirely from hexagonally-jointed basalt columns, similar in structure to (and part of the same ancient lava flow as) the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, and those of nearby Ulva. In both cases, the cooling surface of the mass of hot lava cracked in a hexagonal pattern in a similar way to drying mud cracking as it shrinks, and these cracks gradually extended down into the mass of lava as it cooled and shrank to form the columns, which were subsequently exposed by erosion.
Its size and naturally arched roof and the eerie sounds produced by the echoes of waves, give it the atmosphere of a natural cathedral. The cave's Gaelic name, Uamh-Binn, means "cave of melody".
It became known as Fingal's Cave after the eponymous hero of an epic poem by 18th-century Scots poet-historian James Macpherson. It formed part of his Ossian cycle of poems claimed to have been based on old Scottish Gaelic poems. In Irish mythology, the hero Fingal is known as Fionn mac Cumhaill, and it is suggested that Macpherson rendered the name as Fingal through a misapprehension of the name which in old Gaelic would appear as Finn. The legend has Fionn or Finn building the causeway between Ireland and Scotland.
The cave has a large arched entrance and is filled by the sea; however, boats cannot enter. It is possible to land on the island and walk to the cave overland, where a row of fractured columns fromm a walkway just above high-water level permitting exploration on foot From the inside, the entrance frames the sacred island of Iona across the water.
Composer Felix Mendelssohn visited in 1829 and wrote Die Hebriden (in English, Hebrides Overture Opus 26, commonly known as Fingal's Cave overture), inspired by the weird echoes in the cave.

A couple of summers ago I had the privilege of seeing The Doors of the 21st Century, fronted by Ian Ashbury, and it was phenomenal... we had front row tix... amazing performance.

Here you go Thomas. :) This is from 1993. I just realized I know the bass picker for them!
John Cowan is in this video of theirs, and is going to pick with them again while their bass player is out for a bit.
I met John back when he was the bass player for the New Grass Revival.
