I was at a picnic a few weeks ago and they served them grilled. Loved them and bought some for when Suda, Lori and her daughter, Abi, Sushi and boys and Oeno are here this weekend.
We boil them to do the thorough cooking, and then we throw them on the grill for the grilled taste. Then we sautee some onions. OK, a lot of onions!!! Then we warm fajita size flour tortillas, and wrap the brats with sauteed onions and add mustard. YUM!!!!
We like the torillas because they are still soft from warming and aren't too much bread like a bun would be.

Good idea T, one of the recipes said it was a sin to put a brat on a hotdog bun, cracked me up. Apparently there are certain buns for these things.
I do like the tortilla idea though, lighter indeed.

I remember getting 'em at HQ - it was supposedly one of VPW's favorite dishes -
Brats, sauerkraut, rice pudding, and ...... i forget whatelse....
but it was one of the better dinners...

The brats turned out really good and we didn't do a thing besides grill them.
Sushi took care of that and we threw some kraut and really wonderful horseradish mustard on them.
Yum!
