man o man alfie! Avery and the Mavs were the last ones I thought would fall for Nellies Jedi mind tricks! ...now we (the Mavs) need to win the next three games, play time is over!
(at least I hope this is their mindset... remember the Houston series a couple of years ago?)
But the Mavs are sure not playing like the Mavs of all year long... they're playing like the Mavs of the last four games of the finals last year!

they better wake up... soon!
Well... I for one will NOT count the Mavs out until time runs out in the Warriors' win number 4 (in this series anyway)...
but there's NO question GS is giving them all the Mavs can handle! 2:33 left in this game, and the Warriors are up by 1...
I have to be concerned that even the announcers today on ABC were pronouncing the Lakers dead for the season before then end of today's game 4 (which the Suns won... and now lead 3-1). That makes for bad karma... fortunately, it wasn't anyone associated with the Suns saying that...
And both GS and Dallas would give the Suns a tough series... so, I don't have a favorite in the GS/Dallas series.
Knowing what the Suns did last year with the Lakers (the SAME deficit the Mavs now have, yet the Suns won the next 3), I STILL can't count the Mavs out, even with a 1-3 deficit.
kind of I guess... nobody knows them better than Nellie cuz he built them... for some reason they've returned to their softer, gentler days... we're waiting for them to get mad and they don't seem to be... too many unescorted forays to the basket for the warriors... and Dirk! ...gosh ...what the heck has happened to him? ...he hasn't showed up yet and seems to be 'admitting defeat'...
for some reason they've just totally disappeared in the playoffs... I don't really think Avery has been outcoached except that he can't seem to get the players to perform... the quotes from the GS players in the papers here have been along the lines of "we'll tell you what we know after we win"...
nobody knows them better than Nellie cuz he built them...
And it was GS that opened a can of whoop a$$ on the Mavs toward the end of the regular season... right before the Suns did the same thing to the Mavs...
But GS ALSO did it to the Suns in the two teams' last match up before the playoffs... that's why I'm not sure the Suns would have it so easy if they end up having to face GS also... (notice, I did NOT say "when"... I HOPE the Suns don't get lazy agin the Lakers).
I still won't count the Mavs out until they lose a series, not just a game (or three) ...
well... there's one... two more to go (hopefully)... but like the round mound said on the show tonight "this is a fun series"... it would just be a lot more fun for me if the Mavs would continue to show up like they did tonight... sheesh! they finally finished a quarter...
I'm a Mavs fan so I've got to keep on believing they'll win the series... but man! GS is in their heads bigtime!
GS has been amazing, I'll give them that, but my gosh they have made so many off balance 'throw up a prayer' shots! ...they've made a lot of their own 'luck' but it seems that almost every bounce has gone their way... again, that being said, they are playing some amazing basketball.

My condolences Tom. :(
I s'pose A'Kat is happy, however... though it only gets tougher from here on out... whattaya think?
Suns/Spurs... if the Suns lose, I hope it takes all 7 games to make it happen... if the Suns win, it would be nice to do it in 5.
ok, Jazz fans, step up.....game 1 tonight and I think Warriors will be very lucky to split first 2 in SLC. That being said, it will be a story of which tempo will prevail and will BD and his hamstring hold up. As he goes, so go the W's.
well... with four minutes left it looks like the Suns will even it up... thanks to Nashty! (that's what we called him in Dallas when we had him)
Yep... they DID the deed... by 20 points. WITH Tim Duncan playing (and not being hurt). I'd say first... it was a "must win" game. Second, the only time this season they had beaten the Spurs, Duncan didn't play (IIRC). That led to some doubt about whether the Suns had it in them to take on the Spurs in the playoffs. I'd say they successfully exorcised that particular "ghost" tonight.
Obviously, it's still going to be a tough series... for both teams.
You probably can figure who I want to win it. ;)
Did you hear what the promotional give-away was at the game tonight? Nose bandages... (I'm NOT making that up).
I just couldn't watch... and I was already TIVOing other programming....
Suns trailed the Spurs for most of the game tonight... I checked on it during a couple of commercials in Law & Order CI...
Then I just got online and found out the Suns actually pulled it off!
After this week, most of the regular programming will be reruns... so I'll at least be able to TIVO just in case I care how it got to the final score.
btw, apparently "Big shot Bob" Horry got frustrated tonight and thought he was playing hockey. Throwing a body check into Nash, Horry got tossed from the game and Nash enjoyed an close up look at the scorer's table.
Series tied 2-2. Suns regained home court advantage. Go SUNS!

I saw all of those folks with the bandages, and the statue as well... a great tribute to a great player.

And now your buddy Dirk (deservedly) grabs the MVP... (however, had Nash gotten it for the third straight year, it would have also been appropriate).

I must correct a mistake I made in that previous post.
I mentioned the perpetrator as "Big shot Bob" Horry. His moniker has been changed to "Cheap Shot" Robert Horry.
