As I'm not a football fan at all, the only parts of the Super Bowl I watch are the new commercials and the half-time show if I happen to be passing through the room when they come on. Of course, I missed the legendary half time with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, which was just fine with me.
You're right! But do we see any on the East coast complaining like I'm doing? Even in Hawaii where the game starts in the morning... who wants to party down knowing that they have to go to work the next day? :(.
BTW... pretty good ads, huh? But then. they nearly always are.

P.S. David.. I heard the same thing about that Monday being the highest absentee day, too.
Loved the ads. Now I won't have to watch the game! Actually, the Countess and I will be at our kid's place 70 miles away for a Superbowl party. And guess what? I'll be at work on Monday at 7 AM! Deal with it!
And then there are the ads we wish they would show but can't because little kids are watching... Click HERE! Hee-hee! Now does anyone feel at all sorry for the guy??
I don't know why you couldn't play that video but I've changed it to an MPG. Click HERE! and see if it works. Now remember.. you have to give it a minute to load!!
i was just watching that show on superbowl commercials a little while ago. it was fun. there was one past commercial that said something like, "we just wasted $2 million dollars -- what are you doing with your money?" or something like that. i think it was by e-trade. i thought it was clever.
I liked the one with the rabbit, the mouse and the gerbil (or whatever it was)... and the one made by an ordinary human for Doritos!
Liked them both better than any of the others... and after the robot one I said "they're gonna take some heat for that one"... all in all I thought it was a bad year...

I've heard somewhere (this may or not be true),
that the day after the super bowl has one of the highest percetages of all other *holidays*,
for folks calling in sick to work.
Sunday and monday have been my "weekend" for the past 5 years,
so the game is actually being played on "saturday", for me! :)

Chef -- as your cousin OE would say -- Ayuh!
And you're right about the price. 2.4 million is the "going" price for a 30 second ad.
If I had 2.4 mil -- I'd spend on something more substantial than a 30 second *quickie*
Of course the FIRST $360,000 -- 15% BEFORE TAXES would have to be ABS'ed
(or is that abased???), in order to keep a spit-proof hedge of protection
around the remaining 85% --- $2,040,000.

Sudo, you complain about the Sunday night part of this, but at least you're an hour behind us.
Generally, the game finishes up around 11-ish here for us on Eastern Standard Time... and 5am comes pretty early.

I loved the Bud ad with the crabs worshiping the red cooler - LOL!
Also, the Diamond nuts ad where Robert Boulet comes in and messes with your desk at 3pm... it was so weird it was funny!

I already posted this in the wrong thread. My fave so far is the one with the bunny and the guinea pig and the poor lil mouse.
"Try draggin' it." eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

The theme this year seem to be pain and abuse. I'm finding most of the ads tedious. I did like the Chevy ad with the various songs through the years.

I like the e-trade commercial about all that you can do with one finger.

The deal with the robot killing himself was a little over the top.
If you mess up go kill yourself?

Thanks, dmiller! Missed the game, but you brought me the best part of the Super Bowl, the ads.
