TWI WAS A RIDE DOWNHILL

Let's look at the other side of the coin.

Twi may have started with some good intentions. There were some good God loving people. But as with every other group Iv'e ever seen when money and power get introduced into the equation it's time to jump ship, bail out, split, run for the hills.

What happened you say? Too many things to count here. One of the major issues. The promogation of the corporation became more important than the people.

One example-a big catch phrase of twi- "it's the love of God, it's not the love of people'.

BOY DID THIS BECOME A WAY FOR LEADERSHIP TO-

- twist the Word to any of their ideas they could devise to control people.

- get people to do anything they wanted them to do.

Sounds real religious and right, but after you consider it awhile, it's dead wrong.

Case and point. Mark 12:30-31 Jesus talks about the two great commanments to love God and then he says the second is like unto it which is to love your neighbour. The wor like is from the root "homo" which means the same. Both words love God and love your neighbour are "agapeio" which is Godly love. In other words it makes sense that you can't love God without loving your neighbour.

So, IF YOU AIN'T WALKIN' IN LOVE TOWARDS PEOPLE YOU AIN'T LOVIN' GOD

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Well, I'd have to vote "wrong", as I don't know as there ever was any time when Wierwille and his minions had any goal in mind other than serving their own bellies. Ever wonder why VP really got his walking papers from his denomination? I'll bet it had nothing to do with poor 'ol Vic just wanting to "do the Werd".

He pilphered Leonard's class in the early 50's, likewise several other men's books a while later, and ALWAYS had a real penchant for fast living and expensive toys. So he sold some Bible blather now and then. So what?

Of course, superstition in whatever form doesn't impress me much anymore, no matter how holy or noble one perceives it to be...

I think at times we wrestle with the 'twi was a good place until' thinking ...

and the ... 'TWI was no good cause VP was self serving and a million other things' because we confuse TWI being a good place with good intentions with... TWI having good people sprinkled throughout.

Yes, it is undeniable that TWI had some wonderful people who wanted to do the right thing for people and do the right thing in God's eyes. But did you ever notice how these well-meaning individuals never lasted long in TWI. They were either heavily scowled upon 'til they changed (for the worse usually) or they just left.

sad but true.

Yes there were some genuine Godly people. I think that's the only reson I stayed as long as I did. That's what fooled me. Then I saw most of those people leave, and it got me thinking. First the system started to suck the life out me and second I saw more loving people outside of the way than in the way.

So I said "I'm outta here"!
