Nope. Down home American, red white and blue, through and through...
Roman is not an English word. And it's not Italian. It's French. And it has nothing to do with the title of the movie. Pirate, give them another quote.
Don't let my clue distract you. It's one of those clues that won't make sense until later, and then only if you're familiar with a fairly obscure term I'm using. As Bill Clinton would say, "It depends on what the meaning of roman is."

I'm guessing that WW won't mind my adding a clue: the movie starred Danny Kaye. George

Once again, you posted a quote from a movie, where you could have posted 1/2 the script without me getting it, except for the one quote you posted. This was from early on in "Red Dawn."

Roman, Romance, Romans, Rome... none of those are in the title. One of those words is a subtle clue to the genre. And it's not romance.

I doubt it's an historical film. (I don't think an ancient Roman would say "gay lesbian.") Maybe it's an Italian film?

Still no idea, even if it has to do with (Romaine) lettuce!

A roman a clef is a fictional story clearly based on real people.

Another Clue?
I've been on a diet every day since I was nineteen, which basically means I've been hungry for a decade.

It is not The Killing Fields.
My favorite line in Notting Hill is "she kisses like a nymphomaniac on death row."

Ok, here's the giveaway.
Why would anyone want to do that? Sequels suck!

Hm.
If that Sidney is Sydney, then I think I've heard both quotes.
Since I never saw the third, that would make this
Scream 2.
