So close, I'll give it to you (especially since no one else is trying).
"Summer OF '42." Based on the award-winning novel. Three teen-agers dealing with their hormones. One of them develops an attachment for a war bride living nearby (O'Neill). I enjoyed the book and the movie. Won the Oscar for best musical score. You'd probably recognize the theme.
I'm almost surprised that worked.  BTW, for those who forget, the seasons are mirrored in the hemispheres, so the Southern Hemisphere has Winter in July and Summer in January, and so on.
(I just quoted this movie to Wordpup a day or so ago.)
Â
"Why is that toy on your head?"Â "Because if I wear it any place else, it chafes."
Â
"Kent put his name on his license plate."Â "My mother does that to my underwear."Â "Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?"
"One man is born a hero, his brother a coward. Babies starve, politicians grow fat. Holy men are martyred, and junkies grow legion. Why? Why, why, why, why, why? Luck! Blind, stupid, simple, doo-dah, clueless luck!"
Â
"Your entrance was good. His was better. The difference: showmanship!"
Â
"Stickley's suicide was obviously a computer-generated forgery."
"You really are quite bright, despite what people say."

Crimson Tide?

I'm guessing that WW won't mind my adding a clue: the movie starred Danny Kaye. George

Once again, you posted a quote from a movie, where you could have posted 1/2 the script without me getting it, except for the one quote you posted. This was from early on in "Red Dawn."

So, this movie is....?

Obviously one I've never heard of.   Even if I had multiple choice, I don't think I'd get it.
"Equinox 42" or "Summer 42" or something like that (depending on where you are when Summer hits.)

I think I have it narrowed down to a franchise.

The movies do seem rather interchangeable.

Does that mean if I guess one film in the franchise, it will count as correct?

It would probably take an eternity to figure out which franchise movie it is.Â

The second quote would have given it to me, but some people would go for the THIRD.

Right, so that makes this "Batman Fever."

Â
(That's what David Letterman called "Batman Forever.")

Let me know if you need the rest of the script, since I have it nearly memorized.

No idea.
(Doesn't sound like Highlander or a Muppet movie...)

Most obviously.
Probably the only movie where a clown steals a million dollars.
