WordWolf
*waits for pawnbroker* I wonder how Marcus is doing-I called him "Daniel-san" once...... My usual complaint about Karate Kid II was that it was soooo predictable. Every scene on Okinawa was interrupted by Sato's "Miyagiiii!" Someone walked by and guessed it seconds before the ONE time it was interrupted by the storm, when Sato was trapped under the log. I myself guessed the entire end-scene when the dance-performance began. I was interrupted by the events as I finished explaining them. My usual complaint about the trilogy was that they kept contradicting each other. Movie 1, Miyagi's lamenting the death of his wife, and Daniel sees her obituary. The secret to the Miyagi family karate: the Crane technique. "If do right, no can defend." There is NO move that has no counter. Of course, in the end, he wins by using the Crane. Movie 2, Miyagi says he never married. [My answer: he lied thru his teeth.] The secret to the Miyagi family karate: the Drum technique. Daniel attempts the Crane against Sato's student, who uses the counter and hits him. Daniel wins by using the Drum technique. Movie 3, early on, Miyagi announces he will teach Daniel the secret to the Miyagi family karate: the katas. (The forms, or demonstrations.) Daniel seems to have completely forgotten the Drum technique in this movie, and gets beat down in the arena. Daniel wins by using Kata in the arena. When we heard they were making "the Next Karate Kid", someone did their impression of Miyagi contradicting the previous movies for me... "*miyagi voice* You my first student!" It was such a good impression I have to mentally separate it from the actual movie.

I'm guessing that WW won't mind my adding a clue: the movie starred Danny Kaye. George

Once again, you posted a quote from a movie, where you could have posted 1/2 the script without me getting it, except for the one quote you posted. This was from early on in "Red Dawn."
