dmiller
31 years ago today, the Edmund Fitzgerald left the Duluth/Superior harbor, and sailed into the history books. Tonight in memory of the men lost, Split Rock Lighthouse will shine out over Lake Superior again. Every year on Nov. 10, the navigational beacon, decommissioned in 1969, is lit in memory of the 29 men lost aboard the Edmund Fitzgerald and all the other vessels lost on the Great Lakes. HERE is the history of the Fitz, with pics. And here is Split Rock lighthouse.
