shortfuse
Anybody 'member how VPW would say something like this... "The word is so true, if you read it on the heals of the devil and believed it..." it would still help you, heal you, something like that. Was just thinking today, maybe that's a fine description of our good TWI experiences. Iit made us stick around, too. "There might be bad things about the Way, but it saved my life, family, etc." (as it did in some cases.) It made us lay aside other evidence in front of us because we saw some good. Maybe that good was from what we believed on the heals of the devil.
DogLover
From the Homophone Dog ... I think that's "on the heels of the devil." That's the way I've always heard it. Edited November 9, 2006 by DogLover

hiway29
He means heels, as in the back of ones feet. Being on the 'heels of the devil' . Like chasing someone and being that close to catching them. Heel-the back of the foot, not Heal-as in healing a sickness or infirmity
templelady
WHich leaves out a whole lot of answers to various questions such as Why would you be on the heals of the devil in the first place? If you were on the heels of the devil why would you be stopping to read scripture? Entirely too much concentraton on the devil and his minions in TWI We spent more time talking about Satan in TWI then Satan spends talking about himself!! shortfuse
Um, that was a poorly worded topic. Forget I said that.
johniam
If LCM was right, and the devil disguised himself as a woman and seduced Eve, then perhaps he wore "heels" and...oh, forget it!
