Did you see Colbert on the National Press Club luncheon when he did his spiel about Bush? ... Hilarious!!
I heard a few people boo Dawkins a few times on the video too. ... But not to worry. I won't accuse them of violating Dawkins right to speak his peace on the Colbert Report.
Has anyone read God Delusion? Or The Blind Watchmaker? I haven't read either one, but people who have said they're excellent.
My curiosity wasn't aroused about the books until I saw Richard Dawkins mentioned here. I thought God was different than religion, or non-religion, kind of like Christ is different than what I have seen in Christian churches. So, why bother. But maybe there's something to what he has to say?
God Delusion is on my list to read. Should be pretty good.
The Paradox of God was a decent read. Deals with the problems of omniscience and how it actually would hinder someone.
For example, say you're playing chicken with an omniscient being. You're speeding towards him, and him towards you. If you crash, you both die. But whoever chickens out suffers severe penalties (whatever they are, make something up). What do you do?
Easy, keep going and don't swerve. The omniscient being will be forced to swerve because he already knows you will not chicken out.
