It is showing in only one theater in Reno. Place was full (not packed but full, some empty seats).
Epic proportions. Nice to see on the big screen.
Esther was played as a loving playful young woman whose tenderness, open affection, and honesty were key qualities in winning the heart of the king.
The king was regal.
Mordecai was wise. I thought he also was perfect.
Saw some tender little things of the story of Esther I had never considered.
(Her parents, deceased, how they had loved her. The real danger of Esther's approach to the king to request an audience. The only lights at the time was fire. This movie had a "fire art" department, and the grand effects of that were, to me, a highlight of the film. Lots of stuff here to see upon re-viewing.)
I saw it and only watched the first part of it. I didn't like how the people were portrayed. It wasn't close to realistic at all IMO. The women had on too much make-up, hair curled up perfect, and the young girls acted like girls do in this day and time. lol I have a hard time believing thats how young people acted during a time like that. It just didn't seem right at all. I've seen much better movies.

My wife loved the book, but the movie isn't showing anywhere around here.

Kit, I would have to say ditto to all you mentioned. The actors were all very good.
I read the book after seeing the film and liked the book much more because it followed the book
of Esther better. The costumes were phonomenal.

Thought it was a good story.
Did anyone notice the Nazi symbolism? (the crooked cross and snake on the bad guys)
