Yes, the BBQ will happen Saturday, Nov. 3rd and Sunday Nov. 4th.
Hope you can make it this year, ex70's. Yes, we have a grill. But we might smoke something this year. Still deciding on the menu.
ex10,
I got the invite, thanks. I have to look at my calendar but the week prior to that I believe I will be in Canada, so I might not be up for leaving the house (I'll have to sit in the shower and cry for a few days until the poutine smell washes away.) I'll let you know closer to the date.
Also, what are you planning on smoking this year? Could it be...
   Mister P!! I did ask for that one, didn't I? :B)
Ok, that's not exactly what I had in mind. Since we will have a couple of minors in attendance this year, we will definitely keep things G rated. ;) Or ok, well at least PG anyway.
I-35 splits just North of the DFW area and then comes back together around Hillsboro, TX.
Praying for all the bridges on your route to stay intact!
Anytime driving (long distance), is a fine time.
You're out there alone with your thoughts, the CD player, the AM/FM radio, the C.B radio,
the cassette player, the silence, or just the hum of your tires at high speeds,
or watching the radar detector for *incoming interference*.
(whichever of the above one chooses),
Nother words -- You have a chance to think about LIFE -- and perhaps inter-act as well.
I've driven over 700 miles once, just THINKING about things.
Nothing else. The open road ahead of you beckons, and invites contemplation.
I have also driven that same 700 miles listening to Sam Pruyn's tape,
over, and over, and over, and over.
I've done em all out on the byways and highways.
NO greater pleasure than connecting with the *audience*,
of those out on the same piece of concrete I'm on.
You meet the nicest folks on the CB radio,
and some real *interesting* jerks (Kinda like GSC). ;)
And truck-stops ---- I've had more interesting conversations with truckers at various *watering holes* where we were waiting for *our* kind of coffee to brew, so we could each fill up our thermos', and then hit the road again--to our own destinations, than I've had elseswhere.
So -- Don't worry. :)
(Wait -- meebe you should!!)
I contracted for a load of PINEAPPLE headed your way!!

The first weekend of November
Is the time you should really remember.
Ex10 and her spouse
Will open their house
To multitudes too great to number!

A limerick really should go here,
But I'm out of ideas, I do fear.
I still want all to know
That there's not long to go
'Til barbeque, cheescake, and cold beer!

What Count St. George says is very true.
And to make it complete we need YOU.
Tell Ex10 if you're comin'
The place will be hummin'
Come down and meet the Texas crew!

I know this big guy, who ate a big pie, and then heaved it up all over the floor.
He said with a grin, as he wiped off his chin, I'll go down to Texas for more!

Jonny once learned to make beans
And he served them for various means.
They gave him some gas!
Flames were lit from his...
Then he had holes in his jeans!

This is part of the route Tom and MapQuest told me to take.
Here's hoping it get's rebuilt in time.
I'd hate to miss some good eats, for lack of concrete. :)

Actually -- I was just *funning* y'all.
I-35 starts (or ends) depending on where you start, or end your trip at.
Duluth, or Texas.
Coming down (your way) from Duluth, I-35 splits into two right before the Twin Cities.
One way goes west (Minneapolis), and the other goes east (through St. Paul).
I-35W (going through Minneapolis), and I-35E (going through St. Paul).
Same highway -- but with two different Interstate designations.
While the I-35W bridge over the Mississippi has collapsed,
the I-35E bridge is (knock on wood), still intact.
So -- I can't take I-35W, since there's no bridge over the Mighty Mississip.
But --- the I-35E bridge is still intact, if I go through St. Paul, instead of Minneapolis.
Both the I-35 Interstates cross the mighty Mississip.
The St. Paul bridge is (I believe) the older of the two.
So --- Yes. I think I can find a way. :)
(getting out the CG tape that teaches about walking on water,
by practising on puddles!!) Just might come in handy, eh??

I've taken the liberty of plagiarizing myself from the Party at Chas's thread...
It's a shame Chas's party's delayed.
But you needn't all be dismayed.
Come down to Ex10's
For a welcome that's Texan.
You'll surely be glad that you stayed!
