But Microsoft seems pretty lenient on reinstalling XP. Most time I just Activate over the Internet and it allows me to do so. Once I was told I had to call Microsoft to activate. Probably because I installed one of my copies of XP quite a few times while building various PC's for myself and changing hard drives galore.
Of course I did not get Microsoft by some nice person in India. I told them I had to do a fresh install on my new hard drive and they activated me without hesitation.

Avoid Micro$oft activation all together, as well as the $$ shelled out for the license.

Sometimes I feel like it Greasy...... sometimes I really, really do.
Stuck in a rut I guess.
Same with my Intel Procs.
AMD is probably better but somehow I keep going Intel. (Although I hear good things about their Core Duo.)
I am probably not the type that would ever use a Mac either.
