"Computer – this is a Class A Priority Directive: Compute, to the last digit, the value of pi."
"This is the first time I've heard a malfunction threaten us."
"Scotty – here, they use the lights."
"Now, no one has to tell an old Aberdeen pub crawler how to applaud, captain!"
"Die! Die! Die! Ha,ha! Everybody die!"
"Well, Mr. Spock for the next five or six hours we're going to have the happiest crew in space... of course, we won't get much work done."
""An entity which feeds on fear and terror would find a perfect hunting ground on Argelius, a planet without violence, where the inhabitants are as peaceful as sheep. The entity would be as a hungry wolf in that fold."
"Captain – since you came to Argelius to rest, I suggest you take advantage of the opportunity."
"That's a splendid idea, Mr. Spock. I know a cafe where the women are so–"
"I know the place, Jim!"
"Let's go see!"
"You gentlemen? In your condition? Don't be ridiculous. Mr. Spock – this cafe has women that are so... No, I guess not."
On the hope that there's someone else out there playing, I'll hold off for now, though I will say that it's a NG episode, so most of our lurkers should have a shot at it.
I'm probably way off here, but it reminds me of the Enterprise episode where emotional Vulcans hang out on the ship. One tries to "mind-rape" T'Pol; another has issues with his father.
George
P.S. Cindy!, I tried to respond to your PM but kept getting a "no such member" error.
I wasn't offended; but I have to be very careful when I'm at work.
Thanks GstG, I dunno why that happens, but a couple other people I've im'd haven't been able to answer....maybe it's cuz I'm listed as cindy rather than Cindy!
As you say, right church, wrong pew
Here's another clue (this will probably give it away):
I'm glad to see someone not constrained to the OS or NG. Unfortunately, as much as I liked Enterprise (and I'm sure I'm in the minority there), there are only a handful of episodes that I've seen more than once. This one does sound familiar.
OK. Your "right church" comment threw me. Ws this the one where Famke Janssen plays someone who "patterns" herself after her prospective mate? Data chaperones her for a while, because there's nothing to "imprint." Eventually, she imprints on Picard, but that's okay, because she can still be an almost-perfect wife for the ambassador or prince or whatever whom she's supposed to wed. The title was "The Perfect Mate."

This is an easy one-I guess they're easy when you know them, and hard if you don't .
'Wolf in the Fold' Real good original series episode.
Don't have one handy-might take a day or two before I do

Okay. That's enough time.
Try this:
"Fear is the true enemy. The only enemy."
"What do you make of these?"
"Crystalline. Mostly inert. Nothing to write home about."
"Excuse me?"
"Slang, sir. I did use it correctly, did I not?"
"Merde."

I'm glad you jumped in. I'm also glad I don't know this one, as I still don't have a new one.

We know it's "Star Trek:TNG", but I don't have the episode.

Is this the ST:TNG episode where they discover these crystals and find out they're
this lifeform that needs light to survive or something?

No.
This clue would probably give it away if you remember the episode:
"Yankee Traders. I like the sound of that."
"Well, sir, I doubt they wear red, white, and blue or look anything like Uncle Sam."
"Uncle who?"
"What have bright, primary colors got to do with anything?"
"Fear is the true enemy. The only enemy."
"Know your enemy and know yourself and you will always be victorious."

Ah!
"Yankee traders." That was from the LOUSY diplomatic skills Picard suddenly DIDN'T have when the Enterprise
first encountered the Ferengi. (Hm. For a skilled diplomat, he didn't know the most basic information about
an advanced race he might encounter, and for a ship's captain, he was a total stranger to the capital ship
called the Ferengi Marauder. Whoops!)
The Ferengi, according to Data, said the Ferengi were like Yankee Traders, and operated on the principal of
"let the buyer beware." (Caveat emptor.)
IIRC, this was the episode that they found "THE LAST OUTPOST" of the Tkon Empire.
And the only appearance of the Ferengi energy whips- after which, the Ferengi switched to more practical
disruptors like the Klingons and Romulans. (Funny how the Cardassians used phasers like the Federation...)

Right. This one was more memorable to me for two reasons.
Picard saying "Merde" when he can't get his ship free. I guess as long as it's not in English, it's okay.
The Ferengi's disdain for clothed females. I've got to go with them on that one! ;)
The Ferengi were supposed to be the tough guys replacing the Klingons but soon became more comic relief. Then came the Borg.
You're up, WW.

Correct!
And I'm surprised it seems so easy to both of you!
Nice to have you answer one, Mrs !, and congratulations on the upcoming punctuation.... :)
Of course, it's your turn to provide a quote from an episode.

Here's another clue (this will probably give it away):
Ah, I see you got our message...
If this is some sort of bribe,
I am not amused...
Oh no, Ambassador... your attitude
is quite understandable...
This is just a sample...
The bribe is ten thousand more...
Ludugial gold, the purest in the
galaxy...
We know the lifestyle of a
Kriosian Ambassador is barely
comfortable...
You deserve to live a life of
luxury...
I am insulted. How dare you
suggest...
You drive a hard bargain.
Twenty thousand, but not an ingot
more.

Tisn't Enterprise.....didn't watch that show much....this is a NG episode
Here's another clue.....this one should REALLY give it away...
My empathic powers can only sense
a man of deep passion, and
conviction... so disciplined, so
controlled... I am simply curious
to know what lies beneath...
Nothing. Nothing lies beneath.
I'm really quite dull. I fall
asleep each night with an old book
in my hands...
When a metamorph finds you
interesting... do not take
it lightly.
I don't take it lightly... I'm
only... trying to be as dull as
possible.

"You can't do that."
"Why not?"
"Because! A true victory is to make your enemy see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place; to force them to acknowledge your greatness."
"Then you kill them?"
"Only if it's necessary."
"I had no idea."
"Congratulations, Captain! You wanted them angry, they're angry."

Sounds either DS9 or Enterprise ish....I'd lean towards DS9 but didn't see a lot of their episodes, so I bow to a more worthy player.
