An admiral makes it a personal mission to "root out evil" and tries a half-Romulan man who said he was half Vulcan to be allowed into Starfleet. Piccard puts her in her place.
I'll be gone until late Sunday afternoon. If someone knows the answer, go ahead and post another one. This was the only time I've seen anyone demoted (not just relieved of duty) on a Star Trek show. (Kirk was demoted in the fourth movie.)
Sadly, it's hard to come up with another quote that would help. I will add here that the person in question was demoted for [[shudder]] violating the Prime Directive, but was re-promoted sometime later in the series.
Actually, it's one of those Voyager episodes you're useless at. Tom Paris was demoted to Ensign and sentenced to "Thirty Days" in the episode of that name for getting involved in a war on a water planet.

Okay, let's try an easier one:
"Nice house. Good Tea."

I think this was when Worf "admired gall."
That was when we met Kevin Uxbridge and found out why we won't be running into any Husnock anytime.
(We never did encounter another Dowd, oddly enough.)

'Mudd's Women'
not to be confused with the insufferable "I, Mudd"

"Little Green Men."
Quark, Rom and Nog end up crashing at Roswell back when.
Then they try to swindle a business deal with paranoid US military types,
which backfires...
The first 3 things, Quark knew from his bar, of course.
'Atom bombs' he overheard from the soldiers!

Possibly the NG episode "Drumhead"?

Correct.
Simon Tarses was 1/4 Romulan, not 1/4 Vulcan, and Nora Satie seized on that to accuse him of
conspiracy. As it turned out, the "sabotage" was simple structural failure, and when Picard
got on her to stop looking for a conspiracy when there was none, he was added to her
list of suspects.
I didn't even get to the best quotes yet.
Go, George!

Okay, I'm cutting in. This is only a partial quote, but it's the only TV Star Trek episode where I can remember this happening:
"I hereby reduce you to the rank of..."
