Rubbing Alchohol

I just go ahead and rub it on.

So.... that's what you're doing with your ear! :wink2:

I have to get a required emissons test (sigh) and in doing some web searching I came across a board about this very thing.

One interprising person empted his tank and poured in rubbing alcohol on the premise that it somehow improves the results of the test. unsure.gif

No results were reported. What people will think of next! rolleyes.gif

I can attest that this DOES NOT work with rubbing alcohol.

TN requires emission testing. My '89 Ford Festiva WOW Car Special, with over 180K miles on it, did not pass. What a suprise!

Someone told me to go put a bunch of rubbing alcohol in the tank, take it on the highway, and get it good-n-hot. Then, bring it back to the emission testing station.

The second test was waaayyyy worse than the first.

Rubbing alcohol is full of water - I'd just dumped a ton of water in the tank!

It has to be an additive - not good ol' rubbing alcohol - to make the gas "dry".

We registered the POS car in another county, under another believer's address. Go figure.

When you purchase the alcohol, it says how much water is in it. I get the 97% stuff.
