The first thing you do when you have a water leak is turn the pressure off.
The only way do reduce the need for people to come over is to improve the economy in Mexico and Cenral America.
The hardest thing to do is change the economy in Mexico. Here everything is bought on credit. Not so in Mexico. This is as much a cultural thing as a economic thing.
What drove so much of the US's economy has been consummer spending. Credit drives that.
Over here its not the norm to have more than one generation in a house. There its common to have three.
None of these things makes their culture bad. In many ways its supperior to ours.
I know the answer. Slow down the birth rate there to what ours is and the problems will stop. Yea sure.
The answer is to have everyone in Mexico to buy a car, a new house, and all new cloths in the next five years and we will be moving south. O but wait. A lot of US citizens are retiring to Mexico because the cost of living is lower. So lets send as many retiree's to Mexico as Mexicans are moving to the US.

I agree Roy, the leak should be stopped first before anything else.

That may be so, but the U.S. cannot control the pressures of Mexico, at least not in the short term.
U.S. CAN control it's border, RIGHT NOW, if it so chooses.
