Yeah I was gonna ask the same thing. I'm really sorry for butting in here but I'm trying to learn this stuff too. Can you show exactly what you mean?

The more elementery the better.

If the pic is on your computer instead of somewhere on the internet, you have to make it an attachment to a post. If you scroll down below the text box where you type in a post, the 2nd blue heading area, labeled "Options", has the first check box as "Post Attachment". Click that, then type your message. When you post it, you'll get the thank-you message, then a new screen will pop up and let you browse to the file on your computer you wish to post. As long as it's smaller than 75kb, it'll get uploaded to the board.

Pawtucket has to approve all attachments though, so it might take a day or so to show up.

God bless!

If it's in your Windows folder, then it is NOT on the internet.

When something is on the internet it is stored on a web-hosting server.

Many Internet Service Providers (such as AOL) include some web hosting space as part of the package.

So the only way to include a picture in a post, when it's in your Windows folder, is to make it an attachment.

Eaglegirl, you're on AOL.

I'm not, so I can't give you step by step instructions.

But you can copy a picture to the webspace that you have available, and then you can link to it in your post.

But it sounds like there's a learning curve involved with doing that.

Good luck!

I was able to upload it off the browser that pops up when you select attachment, below the post. The file is too big.I was thinking of shrinking the file or changing it somehow, Its a bmp file.

Its really cool pic too.

Fits perfectly with Dinner for 5.

My daughter hosted the arrival of the Oceans 11 actors (Julia Roberts,Matt D,Bradd YOUKNOW, Andy Garcia, George Clooney) in the tower, she is a Airtraffic Controller in the Airforce. They came to visit her base in, Incirlik,Turkey after 9/11.Its the only pic I have. I would invite them to dinner..She said they are very laid back.my kinda people..haha. Of course, my daughter is standing amidst..way cooool.

Eagle girl LOL. Yeah so far on this forum, it seems much more user friendly than the last with certain, and I underline certain things.

Kay:

I'd like to suggest that you change the picture's format to a jpeg. Those are much smaller, sort of by definition.

Open Microsoft Paint...I think you should have it..and keep resizing it until it is an appropriate size. It will look smaller than a postage stamp in your program....but when it is posted on these forums will be comfortable enough for most details, and it will "fit"

good luck

Replace the http://www.images.com/someimage.gif with the actual URL of the image that you want to include.

Except for that, type it in _EXACTLY_ the way that you see it here.

Type it into your post EXACTLY the way you see it here.

What is the pic? what is the URL (the address) of the pic?
