I knoe this is probably a toughie, beingas there are so many great songs out there. (The reason I'm asking all these questions is I'd love to get a feel for the people who post here and get to know a little bit about whom I'm posting to.

I'll start

Down in Mary's Land -Mary Chapin Carpenter

Cowboy Take me Away-Dixie Chicks

Take it Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling- Eagles

and my most all time favorite

To the Wild Country- John Denver

hi, upon, welcome to GSC.

My taste in music is real broad, from some classical to blues, rock, and most other ganras (sp?)

I tend to like blusey rock type immediately but other kinds grow on me after a few hearings.

some favorites:

Midnight Rider (Rolling Stones)

I know a little (lynyrd skinnard)

You shook me (prefer Led Zepplin version but others are good too)

One Way Out (Allman bro's)(perfer live ver)

I like 'Take it easy', and most Eagle songs too.

I listen to allot of jazz on the radio. I like the songs where you can recognize the melody.

Last night as I drove my son home from the mall he played his new Disney CD. When A song from the movie 'Mary Poppins' came on, I lost it, had tears in my eyes. Some songs just do that to me. The only for sure tear jerker up till this point was 'Momma Sang Bass' by Earl & Scruggs, although the Statler Brothers version will if I'm 1/2 way there. I never really know what songs will bring on this kind of mood.

love, ken

Dovey, do you know the song by George Jones called "Choices"? That is a wonderful song and a wonderful message.

Wow76-78, it has been 25 years since MD. Can you believe it?

I love Eagles, Marshall Tucker Band, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Toby Keith, Vince Gill--"When I call your name" is one of my favorites.

So many songs, not enough time.

The decisions we make today form our future.

Turn The Page

Bob Seger

On a long and lonesome highway

East of Omaha

You can listen to the engine

moanin' out his one note song

You can think about the woman

or the girl you knew the night before

But your thoughts will soon be wandering

the way they always do

When you're ridin' sixteen hours

and there's nothin' much to do

And you don't feel much like ridin',

you just wish the trip was through

Here I am

On the road again

There I am

Up on the stage

Here I go

Playin' star again

There I go

Turn the page

Well you walk into a restaurant,

strung out from the road

And you feel the eyes upon you

as you're shakin' off the cold

You pretend it doesn't bother you

but you just want to explode

Most times you can't hear 'em talk,

other times you can

All the same old cliches,

"Is that a woman or a man?"

And you always seem outnumbered,

you don't dare make a stand

Here I am

On the road again

There I am

Up on the stage

Here I go

Playin' star again

There I go

Turn the page

Out there in the spotlight

you're a million miles away

Every ounce of energy

you try to give away

As the sweat pours out your body

like the music that you play

Later in the evening

as you lie awake in bed

With the echoes from the amplifiers

ringin' in your head

You smoke the day's last cigarette,

rememberin' what she said

Here I am

On the road again

There I am

Up on the stage

Here I go

Playin' star again

There I go

Turn the page

Here I am

On the road again

There I am

Up on the stage

Here I go

Playin' star again

There I go

There I go
