George, that's the opening lines to Tale.. by Dickens

No, it doesn't. I like it. Besides, like Ted says, it's supposed to be fun. (Even for us creatively challenged ones. There has to be some sort of support group for that, isn't there?)
-
Ted are you president of the club? Can I join? Are there any membership dues? When/Where does it meet? I need details before it's too late. -->

I heard what you said about cheeseheads. Now, let's consentrate on the REAL important thing about today. Alabama 30, Southern Miss 21 ROLL TIDE -->

That poem by Robert Frost has always been my favorite.

MJ You had stated "I thinksurvivers are indifferent. we survive." On my part, I'd like to differ. As a survivor of many things that no person should have to go through, I don't consider myself as indifferent. I consider myself a victor and proud to be a survivor. I believe going through some of the things that I have has instead given me more compassion towards the hurting and broken-hearted, because I've been there.

Kathy As with everything, there are pros and cons. Now, with being single, like you said you don't enjoy the protection that you have when you're in a marriage relationship. But, you also don't have to answer to anybody else. If you have a passion for something, all you have to answer to is God. You don't have to answer to another. Being a single mother is harder at times, but if you have a support system, not impossible. My children are all grown and each are successful in their own ways, so I guess I've done my job. I've been both married and single. I can't say that one is better than the other; just different.

Mighty Joe Young. I think Disney did a remake of it a few years back, but of course you really can't remake a classic.

Thanks Sudo. They don't make them like that anymore.

The church I go to also has awesome praise and worship and it's not all scripted. During some of the services, I work the LDS (laser display system) and you never know what's going to happen next. You just have to trust that God won't let you down (and He doesn't). As far as raising holy hands, it is in the Bible in Ps 28:2 and I Tim 2:8. A few weeks ago, I saw something in church that reminded me of our relationship with our Heavenly Father. There was a dad holding his little child's hand to take him to kids' church. That child had to reach up in order to hold onto the hand. That's when I saw the connection: we raise our hands to God, as He reaches down to guide, direct, and/or comfort us because He is our Dad. It confirms that connection that we have with God.

bowtwi Now you've ruined it. He'll be forewarned or will he?

Raf Sounds like paranoia is rampart. It's just your imagination. Do you believe it? (Ok guys we can continue with the plot against him. He doesn't suspect a thing)

Thank you papa. I let the person that let me know about the benefit know.

Kathy I saw BB around 1970(?) in Miami Beach. It is such an awesome experience to see him perform. Something that you never forget.
-
That is such an awesome explanation! Thank you Kathy! I never realized that Ruth had actually risked everything by asking Boaz to marry her. And to think, because of her rashness and boldness, it continued the line of Jesus Christ, thus letting us become the men and women that we are supposed to be.

I totally agree with you Ted. Now, that's a lady that can draw you into a song.

Again, look at last year. Just hours before Charlie was supposed to hit where I was, it turned and hit Punta Gorda. Raf, it you had to evacuate, where would you go (or would you)?

Ophelia is now officially a hurricane at 75 mph. Some of the off-shore bands have dropped 12 inches of rain. I talked to my daughter and they are getting pounded. So far, it's just been sitting there. It really isn't too early to pray. I really don't feel like evacuatng again, but after last year, I've got it down to a science. Considering all things, fellow Floridians, we still got it good compared to the weather in other places.
-
It's getting closer to me. Looks like my daughter is getting slammed. Last time I looked at NOAA, she had sustained winds of 50 mph and she's not getting any weaker. By the time we get hit, she'll be in all her glory.
-
At this point, if it went over Florida, Polk County will get slammed again just like last year they did with Charlie, Francis, Ivan, and Jeanne. So, where should we make reservations? I always (really) at least go out for hurricane dinner (but have to call ahead to make sure something is open).
-
I would and I have. The closest shelter that will let animals in is 2 counties away and they only have one shelter there. I would never leave any of my animals behind while I seek shelter.
-
Wonderful. Just what we need. :(--> Now, to get back to important things, the hurricane party. If it would be like her, we might as well stay at the Don Cesar or the Belleview Biltmore and do it up right.
