There is another storm lurking around. This time it's Beta that just formed in the Carribean. Beta is not predicted to hit the United States, thank God!! This is the 23rd named storm this year (the most since records were started back in 1851).

I know when Ted and I get married next year, we definately want Marvin on the invite list!!

I wouldn't do that. But, you not only told on yourself, but told everybody about what we were doing this weekend, didn't you.

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. The realtor asked, "Does the sun rise in the North?" When my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, (and has always done so since creation), the realtor shook his head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff.". . and he gets to vote! I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open. I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?" Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific." . . . He also votes!. So my colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the shore. She drove down in a convertible, but "didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car was moving".......Yep, she also votes! My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car. It's designed to cut through a seatbelt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk... My sister also votes! My friends and I stopped to purchase a couple cases of Coca Cola for a party and noticed that the cases were discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount... He votes too! I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, "Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?" I explained that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned.........My friend also votes! A friend stopped at McDonalds drive-thru and ordered a half-dozen Chicken McNuggets and a diet Coke. The young lady attendant said, "Sir, we do not have a half-dozen, you can get either four, six or twelve." He said , "Just give me six...I probably couldn't eat a half-dozen anyhow!" This young lady is a future voter! My wife and I were picking up some sandwiches from the sub shop last week and she asked the clerk which of two sandwiches was better. The clerk didn't have an opinion but did say that the first sandwich was more expensive. My wife got a quizzical look on her face and asked, "If that's the case, why are they both listed with the same price on the menu? To this, the clerk responded, "I don't think we add tax to the turkey.".......The clerk also votes! This one is a real 'zinger'....... I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area. So I went to the lost luggage office and told the lady attendant there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me, "has your plane arrived yet?" Yep, she is another one that votes!

My grandfather was from Russia and there was always eastern European music in their home. Oh, by the way Kathy, next time I make dinner and you and Ted are around, it's gonna be bean soup (he told me how much you love the stuff) and chicken.

In Florida, all you need is to be a notery. (can witness a signiture and perform a wedding at the same time)

Raf You are safe and unharmed though, aren't you? I'm so glad to hear from you. I was getting worried since I know you got it worse that predicted. I hope things start getting back to normal (whatever that is) as soon as possible. At least the cold front came in (do you have it too) so the heat isn't so unbearable without power. My prayers are with you, my brother.

Belle Now I don't feel so bad, cause I was the only one here that was a candidate. Knowing that I would have to bring everything in from the lanai, I watered all the plants in there Saturday.

Just a quick update. Wilma is in Florida now. She landed this morning. Where I am, we are just having a tropical storm with sustained winds of around 30 mph and gusts around 40-43 mph (and they made us go to work, where I'm writing from now <_< )

Right now we're under a tropical storm warning (but the hurricane warning starts about 10 miles south of here and we're told that could change at any moment). They said as of now to expect sustained winds of at least 40 mph with gusts of at least 60 mph. But, like Raf said, I remember last year and how I lost my home then. Like the rest of my fellow Floridians...Just waiting

I never heard about it. Where in AL? I was a WOW in Huntsville 75-76.

Then one or the other can start the law suit for plagerizing the title. After years in the courts, they both will forget what it was all about, meet each other over a drink, and live happily ever after. (I love happy endings. Don't you?)

Well Kathy, today I'll have some support to save me from Shatner. Ted is flying down this afternoon. I'm so happy!! With Wilma coming, all we'll need is for the power to go off... I've got plenty of candles (along with the rest of my hurricane kit) :wub:
