Krysilis, Exactomundo!

Jonny my dear Monkey friend, I am so glad to have you back with us. You have certainly been in my heart during these last few weeks as you journeyed. I'm so glad to know you are back at home in the comfort of those who love you. Know that you are surely loved here and your Amazing story has touched me so. Feeling Being Living ...even when it hurts.

Exxie, You are very welcome. :)--> It was a very heartfelt question and seemed worthy of discussion. I've been away all day today and to my shock and amazement ... there was 3 pages to this thread. So I've been reading for the past 45 minutes. (I'm a slow reader :(-->) So many of your posts have brought me to tears here. This seems to be such a topic that reaches way way way down deep and everyone has such insight about this topic. I know for me it has to be the most perplexing issue about my whole TWI experience. Was it really an answer from God? If so, were we to take what we needed and then move on? Were we simply deceived from a good sales job or was it partially the genuine article? Was God limited because there were so many churches not doing their jobs? Is there really no God and we just saw what we wanted to see in a time of crisis in our lives? Is it true if Exxie had started this thread we would be on page 22? All I know is that I, in someway, or another followed what I thought my heart was telling me to do. Socks' story was genuine and he is living the benefits of that in his life to this day. And so, I believe that in my life (and maybe for others here as well), I am living in part what my heart has directed me to do ... be it good, be it bad. Unfortunately, TWI made it virtually impossible for us to nurture what our hearts were telling us and be guided by it. Perhaps by this experience, we will certainly be stronger and more convinced than ever what our path should or shouldn't be. Hopefully as we heal and move on we will follow our true hearts once again. Thanks for helping me find my path.

I read something our dear sister Exxie wrote in another thread and I felt it was thread worthy. Thank you Excathedra. :)--> --------------------------- Let me quote her first. For many, as seen in the recruitment thread, they were witnessed to, approached by, talked to about TWI and the class after many years of either searching, asking, trying different churches, praying to God, crying out to God. If these were genuine answers people received (which I believe for them it was, like for me it was) then I would like to pose Exxie's question. Does anyone have any input on this?
-
Dear Exxie, I've often thought of this myself Exxie. This I believe is why EX-TWIERS (even TWI members) are so torn when they either leave, think about leaving or are asked to leave. It truly is a dilemma for some.

What is the profit in Mark and Avoid??

Refiner, I did not see my sister for over 9 yrs. She lived 30 miles away. She was 'IN' and I was 'OUT'! -
EX-10, You know, I agree with what you have to say about 'gift ministries' and how TWI taught they were to function it the one body. The only 3 people who were ordained in TWI that I felt were wonderful, genuine people post here on GS. Now, isn't that a coincidence!!! ;)-->

Please tell me he hasn't written another book! --> Enough damage has been done! :(-->

Tom, You make me chuckle too!~ :D-->

Refiner, You make me chuckle! :D--> Usually, it was someone you ran into, perhaps an old friend (who was now involve in TWI), someone you worked with, at the mall, a relative, even some door to door... where you got spoken to about 'The Word'. After an initial contact, someone usually invited you to a fellowship held in someones home. The fellowship consisted of a few songs, prayer, manifestations (speaking in tongues with interpretation, word of prophecy), a short teaching(or not so short sometimes :(-->), then a few songs and prayer to close. These fellowships lasted from about 45 min. to 2 hrs. depending on the verbousness of the fellowship leader and teacher. After attending a fellowship or two, someone would tell about the foundational class and see if you'd be interested in taking it. There was much pressure put upon someone to take this class. Usually their 'spiritual growth' hinged on taking it. Otherwise, you were not committed to God, in that you chose not to know more about God and the bible. Now, at times, people were introduced to TWI by someone telling them about the 'class' and they attended the fellowship just so they could get more details on how to sign up. Hope this clarifies some things. I know many posters will be able to add much more to what I've described here... HAPPY HUNTING!!! P.S. ...as far as I know, the word recruitment was never used.. it was termed 'outreach' and we were taught it was our duty since God had given us the ministry of reconciliation as one of our Godly rights to exercise.

Refiner, This is almost a direct quote from the PFAL class. I'm not sure if VP actually said it in the class itself, but I know that anyone running the class were instructed to tell the new students this. Scary!
-
Refiner, Some were and were not. Sometimes things fit and sometimes they didn't. The times it didn't, I would think that it was just in my own thinking and that someday I'd see it! --> Ya, I saw it alright...when I arrived on GS.

OH OH OH OH.. I have a question too!!! If the number 144,000 going to heaven was sealed in 1914, then how is it somehow some can squeek into heaven now? Does not sealed mean sealed in JW land? Now, if I understand correctly, in order to get into heaven...we're back to works again?? I'm confused??? Wayfer Not, I believe the others who are not part of the 144,000 will stay here on earth after the new heaven and earth to work here on the earth. Am I correct Girl from Oz or Refiner? Also, do not the 7th Day Adventists believe the same thing about the 144,000? I believe they get this number from somewhere in the book of Revelation. Please correct me. And you thought you had questions Wayfer Not! :P-->

Dearest Brother Bluze, Wow.. you had a ASM(Amazing Sea Monkey)moment! That's awesome! And Brother Strangeboy, Thank you for reminding me of my mantra.. I had almost forgotten I'm feeling the love, I'm living the love, I'm being the love

Dearest Brother and Sister Amazing Sea Monkeys!! I've been doing some severe CCR archiving today...and I am convinced that Creedence Clearwater Revival were Sea Monkey brethren...the reference to 'Water' in their group's name has great significance!!! I know it's true because "I Heard it Through The Grapevine!" Ala.. is having way too much fun! :D-->
