If Paw were God... Every store you would enter, every mall you'd shop at and every music store you would frequent...would be playing the beatles. And every poster store that sold Beatle posters would only sell the ones where George is predominantly featured! :D-->

Texasbro', Nice thing to say about GS. It is very very true! I found it therapeutic as well and addictive at times too! --> And the funny part... oh please say that I'm one of da' funny ones :D--> please please please!!

Texasbro', Wow...(pun not intended)...what a story. It took alot of courage and tell your story like that. You should be proud of yourself. It's a freaken' miracle any of us survived that bloody outfit called The Way. With all the treachery, humiliation, vendictiveness, evil and harsh attacks that any of us have anything left of our lives. Glad to see you're outta there...still working at it and making a loving home for your beautiful children. You should be so very proud of yourself. I found it amazing when you said that your therapist told you had the emotional maturity of about a 16 yr old. I found that fascinating because, if I'm not mistaken you were about this age when you entered TWI right? My husband recently told me that he believes that from the time he entered TWI at the age of 23 til he left TWI...about 3 yrs ago ( I mean...dewaybraining after we found GS) ... his emotional side was stunted. In someways he feels that he's finally continuing his journey that he left some 30 yrs ago. Thank you again for all your honesty and your story. It was very well written. You and your sister should collaborate and write something someday!!! I'd read it for sure!!!

Jonny Lingo and George Aar!! I am still screaming from your incidents. OH MY GOD!!! :(--> I felt both your pains ... OH MY GOD!!!! :(--> I have an incident...but it's not mine...it's my mom's. She has told it on several occasions and people still can't believe she did this. One Saturday afternoon, as my mom was getting dropped off at the hairdressers, she turned to my dad in the car and said..."Make sure you get this car cleaned before we head out to the wedding this afternoon." She was this real clean freak..still is for that matter --> She gets her hair done and is waiting at the curbside for my dad...in a Teal Blue LTD Ford. The car pulls up and she steps in. She takes one look at the car and notices it's still not cleaned. She says "God Damn...you didn't clean this car yet!! I'm not going anywhere in this car!" The stranger in whom's car she had stepped into said..."Well I wouldn't go anywhere with you either!" She turned around and realized she had stepped into the wrong vehicle. She nearly died a million deaths. She crawled outta the car and embarrasingly had to stand there and wait for my dad to show up. The guy supposedly sat in his car shaking his head and chuckled to himself. I'm sure my mother still wakes up in a cold sweat over that one! :D-->

Lindy, By the read here on this thread...it seems you have to lose a few appendages before making any heads turn in TWI. Maybe you just have to try harder next time...WHERE WAS YOUR COMMITMENT!!! DONCHA' KNOW YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO STOP 'TIL YA HEAR GLASS BOY! --> Reminds of that famous scene in the Monty Python movie...In Search of the Holy Grail where that guy keeps getting more and more body parts chopped off. Whole arms and legs are being sliced off. The one fighting him says...I can't go on...you're bleeding...you've obviously lost. I just chopped your arm off!" "Nah...it's just a flesh wound!" I hope this brings a chuckle to your day. I know you might still be sensitive to your situation still. I hope I haven't offended. (((Lindy)))

Many years back, I was working for a large retail chain in ladies fashions. I'd been at this job for about 3 yrs in the same dept. with the same manager the whole time. One day my manager introduces me to her daughter who is back from living out west, purchasing a new wardrobe for her new job. She had told me that her daughter had been out west in Banff Alberta working at the Banff School of Fine Art for the past few years in administration. This school is over well over 2,000 miles away from me. I looked at her daughter and said...really. That's nice.. blah dee blah dee blah. I said... I once knew a guy who went to school there. The only person I knew who did...and this is why I had heard of the school. I mentioned his name. She stood there and said nothing. Sorta gave me a blank stare. I kept ringing in her articles of clothing at the counter. She then began to remove her jaw from the countertop and said... "He's my fianc? How do you know him?" I then said...Because my brother lived with him for a few years in an artsy loft apt. in downtown Toronto. She looked at me and said...You're Dan G......'s sister? I said yes... who are you? She then called my manager over and said...MOM, did you know this was Dan G.....'s sister? Mom's face ---> !!! Oh my god... you're brother has been over to my house more times than I could shake a stick at...???? He had spent weekends there, hanging out with his friends etc... she seemed to know him better than I did! Small world.

HOLY MACKEREL BATMAN GROUCHO!! Wowza..wowza...wowza! That pretty much sums it up for me!! I think I can go home now! Sweet music to my ears!! -
OM, You are absolutely right! Your words couldn't ring any truer! Couldn't have said it better myself! Took the words right outta my mouth! I never left twi....yup that's right....YOU STILL THINK JUST AS IF YOU WERE IN TWI...YOU'RE STILL THERE. Thank you for your honesty. :D-->
-
OM, The 'Relentlessness' is referred to you and your insistent ways of telling people they're stupid for holding the ideas they do. That's not 'debating'.
-
Groucho, Good synopsis. Enjoyed your post.
-
OM, You don't let up do you OM. You are relentless. You remind me of some those leaders I new back in TWI who no matter what was said, no matter how much you were crying, sobbing, reduced to nothing,...they insisted on kicking you some more. You see, they weren't affected by your display of emotions, it was the WORD that was at stake! Beware what you approve. You may become what you despised. :(-->
-
Brother Argyle, Yes, I believe what you say is true, given those circumstances. But not all of us were that fortunate to have that in our fellowships unfortunately. :(--> I think I know you well enough to say that you probably ran a beautiful, heartwarming, nurturing, sweet and lighthearted fellowship, filled with a good sense of humour (no doubt promulgated by Sir Socks himself :P-->) and people felt loved, cared for and as ease to come to anyone with a need. I know I have read here on GS where people had the privilege of being apart of your fellowship and they spoke wonderful things about it. I wished I could have been one of those people. But, we do get to share 'fellowship' here on GS. I guess that's just as good! Thanks for being here. HEY...I just noticed this is my 1700th post ... how cool!! Paw, I think I need a cake or something? Don't you??
