  1. OK, Adding one more clue: 1) produced in 1942 2) Greer Garson was in the movie 3) Lead Male role was called Smithy in the movie(not Smitty...sorry I made a boob) 4) The movie was taken from a book written by James Hilton 1941 5) The male leading role was played my Ronald Coleman Bonne Chance!!! ps...Chatty...am I hyper-focused enough for you! -->
  2. I suppose there are a million speculations as to why LCM did what he did. I guess he is the only person who will ever be able to answer that.
  3. Chatty thinks me to be funny or something? --> --> If the truth be known...I'm just confused really
  4. But what about my movie??? Have I no takers? :(-->
  5. --> I never cease to amaze myself and others!
  6. Chatty, I meant: 3) the lead male role in the movie...was called SMITHY (in the movie). That is not the actor's real name. Does that make sense?
  7. Highway, Yes, this definitely shows he has very little conscience. Man oh man...where does it end? -->
  8. I don't mean to sound disrespectful...but I wonder how MRS. VP's family felt having LCM there? Makes me wonder?
  9. Dear Hills Bro, The pain of his loss must have been unfathomable to those of you who were close to him. I can only pray that some day as his mother said: that these words will come to pass. Thanks for sharing this with us. Much love to you and your family. EXCIE, So nice to see you!
  10. WW, NOW this quote flabbergasted me VP was the king of saying how he knew how to work because he had lived on a farm...he knew the meaning of a hard days work, he could work that word because he had been taught how to work and work hard. He was always touting himself about how he KNEW what it took to be a worker, and that that is what the corps was supposed to teach us slobs who didn't know how to pick up a shovel!
  11. OK, 1) produced in 1942 2) Greer Garson was in the movie 3) Lead Male role was called Smithy in the movie(not Smitty...sorry I made a boob) adding another clue: 4) The movie was taken from a book written by James Hilton 1941 Bonne Chance encore!
  12. Hiway, Never did see Don Adams do that impersonation. And if I had at the very young age ;)--> I was watching Get Smart...I probably would have never clued in who it was he was impersonating. I stumbled upon this movie one evening and I couldn't stop watching it...I was glued to the set The plot had me spell bound 'til the end!
  13. OK... I know of the movie Mighty Joe Young - The Disney version...I believe we own it ... the kids have it in their movie collection. But, I have to admit ... I NEVER KNEW IT WAS A REMAKE I have to say ... YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY!! OK...I'm into this nostalgia thingy now. You sold me Sudo! :)--> OK...alltime favourite OLD movie... 1) produced in 1942 2) Greer Garson was in the movie 3) The lead male role was called 'Smitty' in the movie. That's all I'll give for now. PS...I think this movie would make an excellent remake. Bonne Chance :P-->
  14. Sudo, That clip worked no problem...it came up in Real Player. But the big monkey thing...now I'm wondering ... what was that all about?
  15. Jan, Skyrider posted the post you quoted...but I know that those people had left TWI long before I ever did. That's how I know. Should have followed their lead -->
  16. WoWzA WW, That was quick work!! Great posts!
  17. Sudo, You have made me chuckle here :D--> Thank you for your very honest and loving post. I enjoyed it immensely...this was worth it, just to get to you know you better!! I have a husband too ... and he sometimes can be as your wife described you...how cute!!! So, when you initially wrote what you wrote about the player thing...I really didn't give it much mind. But, when George piped in...I thought I'd put in my wee little 2 pee cents worth. Don't be worried...I wasn't offended. Yes, I am a very 'un-educated' pc user. Like I tell my hubby who works in the industry, "I don't care about all the details...just get it to work so I can read on GS and chat with my friends :D-->" So, yes I have been using George's method. But my problem was not with Real Player or Quick Time (which I believe I have both installed on my pc), but I recently switched over to itunes for all my media player uses. It just seems that itunes doesn't pick up links. I have to always back to media player to do so. Well...I will certainly take your advice into consideration and get my husband to look at this problem. And, I must admit :(--> that I am in no way good at this 'name that tune' thingy. I'm useless. All these shows/jingles seem to predate me ...cause I'm so youthful you know :o--> ok...enough blither for one morning... back to laundry and such fun domestic chores. Happy drilling Sudo!!!
  18. That's OK Chatty! No be worried. If it's not your thing...i'm cool with that. Not all music is MY thing either. A good friend of mine who is this complete music junkie...I mean, in his leisure time, he gets books on 'The Complete Works of Jazz or Rock N' Roll' and makes lists of albums he should purchase in the future. His library is immense and he religiously reads Rolling Stones Magazine. He is in the know, I would say. Anyhow, each time we talk, I am always introduced to something different and most interesting. He is responsible for introducing me to great musicians such as Alison Krauss...this is going back some time now, The Jayhawks, The Be Good Tanyas (which is my recent love)and many more. I too have had the privilege of introducing him to a few myself...which I find an honour considering he is the MUSIC MEISTER. Eva Cassidy was one. He had heard of her...but never heard her sing. Oh, and Mary Lou Williams :D--> . Ted, Cool game...but I couldn't tell you who Bob L. is. --> Sounds like a pretty neat dude though. Chatty, Was Bonnie's husband you speak of John Hiatt?? or is she still married to him?
  19. WW, I think it may have been Skyrider who posted that. I wonder if we could find it in the archives??
  20. I'm game for the pantry prank Shell... Just book the flight! :P--> Also...we'll bring a permanent marker with us and put smiley faces on each can!! :D-->
  21. OK... I think you need to give Amos a chance. The rest of his stuff on his album is not so sweet. It's far more bluesy... Just my 2 cents of course! :P-->
