Ahhh Chatty... how sweet of you!!! :P Thank You for your thoughtfulness. It's been an incredibly hectic weekend. I'm still in the throws of this switching and renovating bedrooms, daughter from university came home yesterday ... thank God!! :) She's been helping with the painting, groceries and moving of furniture... I guess she's kinda motivated, since she's the one who doesn't have a bedroom right now! :( But, we're almost there... and then, I'm having the family over for dinner on Monday... there will be about 12 or so coming... to say the least...PRAYERS ARE NEEDED! Moony, Chocolat was my favourite movie cause I loved the parallels to TWI and yes...the chocolat looked so decadent! And I loved Judy Densch...she's incredible!
-
George, I think I loved Chocolat because of the Gypsy music/ Django Reinhart style of guitar playing and it look like he was actually playing the thing. Also, I loved the movie because of the message!! :D HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!!! :D :P :D

Moonie, Thanks for the compliment on the description of Janice's singing. Wayfer, it took me years to figure this out...believe you me....I used to walk away and shake my head and think "I don't get it?? They all must be nuts!!" Sudo, Your clip of Maurice Chevalier put a big smile on my face. :D At first I thought, 'Oh cool, he's gonna play GiGi' and that's when I started to smile. True story... When I was about 5 yrs old... I was on television. Now everyone don't laugh. My sister was singing for a program called 'Campus '67' which I believe was a program produced I think by the local television network (could have been CBC), when we lived in Timmins, Ontario. (hometown of Shania incase anyone cares to know :P ) Well, for this one episode, this student was singing the song GiGi and they wanted a few little girls to sit on stools and look pretty while he sang to them. The song was GiGi... which coincidentally, were my initials. GG... anyhow, I remember sitting there (I was 5 yrs. old at the time) in this studio, him singing, me sitting there with I think 2 other girls, when one of the little girls decided it was time to check out. She got up, started to cry and ran out of the studio...I really don't know what happened to the rest of the filming or the song???? Thanks Sudo for the memories. Chatty, Your stories from work remind me of me. I should tell you of some of my adventures in supply teaching and the things that have happened to me in the classroom...some could got down in educational history! By the way... Pirate, Welcome to our beautiful little thread and I love your Johnny Depp avatar as well... favourite Depp movie : Chocolat HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!! gobble, gobble...

I'm BACK..... :P "The holy spirit field-that's the field God raised me up for." There's something ABSOLUTELY fishy about this statement. It's too packaged or something...can't quite put my finger on it? OH RIGHT!!!! The smart-A$$, motor-cycle maniac...was being raised for the Holy Spirit field? How could God limit himself like this??? And to claim such a thing? WOWZA...he surely had NARCISSISTIC balls. Wonky

Wayfer Not, Her singing was not so much the voice...but the passion, the soul, the pain and anguish that fueled her singing. Like listening to Billie Holiday B)

Moonie, Thanks so much for the link... It's wonderful. by the way.... Congrats girl!!! You and Ted will be very happy together...especially if you love this music! Brother Speed, "Doesn't drink Kool-aid. Can't figure out how to put 2 quarts of water and 1 cup of sugar into those little packages." Cute signature! :P

Sudo, Your link made me think of 'Rainman'... Dustin Hoffman's wonderful acting...and he would re-iterate this A & C sketch over and over and over. Unbelievable. OK... Also, I was watching my music concert video of Norah Jones...and at the end of the video she says that she would like do a song of The Band's ...because... The Band was all of her band members' favourite band....sheeshh... I'm almost starting to sound like A & C's Who's on first? There is something fascinating about this group... it wasn't just about the music i feel. It was like what they did was bigger than them. Does that make sense? Also, I didn't quite understand what you were asking me about emails and such? Doesn't take much to confuse this gal.
-
Sudo, Have you ever seen the video 'The Last Waltz'? After watching that a few times...I grew a very deep respect for that band 'THE BAND". see ya

Dear Kathy, I feel your pain... About 6 years ago I was approached about teaching. I had no formal teaching training nor experience. But, several teachers came to me over the years and said...WHY AREN'T YOU TEACHING? I'd always give the same excuse...I'm not a TEACHER. They said..so! YOU CAN DO IT! I went to the principal...she called the Board Office... she then interviewed me and I was hired at a supply/occasional teacher. This all happened in about a couple of weeks... and There I was standing in front of a classroom before I knew it. Now, I do teach in an area where there is a shortage of teachers...being french teachers, but just the same. I have done long-term contracts, taught outside of the french environment, I've done reports ... you name it. Yes it's high stress at times.... and yes....I've made mistakes and learnt 'on the job' basically...but I've never had a complaint. I believe, after this experience, some people are capable of doing some jobs, even without any formal education in the field. They just 'have it' as some would say. I believe your peers see something in you that they know would work. They see the potential you have. You need to trust them as I did the teachers. Because, believe you me, I did not see what they saw. I thought... GET OUT OF TOWN!!! I couldn't teach?" But, you know what... I get requested so much that they often fight over me at schools...and that feels good! Kids also make a fuss when I go into the schools...which for a supply (sub) teacher... is downright a miracle! One year in September, I was offered 6 different full time jobs. Now, I'm not trying to boast here...it's just the way it is. I don't think I'm a fantastic teacher, but I do connect with the children and I have fun. Which I believe makes all the difference and I have fun, because I love what I do. Oh, and the biggest key... I let those who hired me know.. how nervous I was... how much I felt unqualified and how much I felt 'unsure' of what I was doing... and everyone said... Don't worry, we'll help you. And they did. I can't tell you what it has done for me working in this environment. I FINALLY felt like... YES, I get to do something I love to do...and that comes NATURALLY to me. Therefore, I feel so comfortable in this environment that the work is not stressful...cause I'm at home. Go for it.. put in that resume...the worst that can happen is you say no. The experience will be amazing for you and you can always start and if it doesn't work out... well you can always say... It didn't work out.. and I feel I've made a mistake... Just remember, let whomever know how you feel and what your concerns are. I always think that's the best approach...and therefore, those involved won't have any surprises. i love you and i'm excited for you about this opportunity.

George, Are you saying.. you can see my lips moving ... but you don't know what the heck I'm saying? <_< Moonie... Go and look at Shellon's avatar... you'll get what I'm saying!

Shell, Your thingy is draggin' this morning! That sounds painful... :o Whatever you do...don't trip on it...you might tear something you need later! Love you. OK...just wanted to mention to all those of you who are serious about this nostalgia stuff...as you can probably tell...I AM NOT. I'm sorry :( ...and I'm sure at times you feel like i'm this fly, flying around pestering everyone in your beautiful thread...but I do love the company I keep around here. Thanks for letting me hang. (of course... not like shell's 'hang' :P) If the fly bothers you too much at times, my suggestion... just get a big fly swatter and start swinging... you're bound to get me at some point. Of course you know...frogs eat flies... now that's weird  )

Shell & Chatty, EUREKA!!! I found it!!!   Ok...go to 'MY CONTROLS'... THEN ... 'EDIT PROFILE INFORMATION'.... THEN ... click on the first space you see...called 'CUSTOM MEMBER TITLE'.... There is probably a letter 'I' sitting in the space Shell. Delete it and you can put whatever you want there and it will come up under the picture of that beautiful granddaughter of yours...maybe you could write something like... MY GRANDMA IS THE BESTEST GRANDMA IN THE WORLD!!! :P I think that would be fitting! :P by the way... just incase you were wondering ... it took me forever to get this post to look like this! Ya, about 10 edits later...
