  1. Ok... This is a my first attempt at posting a song. Drum roll pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase!!! I have a feeling this is gonna blow up in my face.... This song is called... Sunday Morning After... it's the Amanda Marshall song that I posted the lyrics to a few days past. Enjoy. It's a bit raunchy, but it's cute. Click HERE
  2. Cowgirl, Don't be embarrassed!!! That song/album was the first album I ever owned. I was 9 ... ran out and bought it the moment I heard it. Great song I think...even today. I too was embarrassed. A few years ago here on GS our Wonderful Chatty started a thread on MUSIC and I was hooked... it went for pages and pages and pages. Well at one point, people were sharing the first albums they purchased in their lives. Well, I sheepishly came out of my musical closet and confessed my 'sugar, sugar' purchase. I'll always remember our lovely Kathy posting a picture of the album on the thread. Set my little musical heart at rest. Finally it was out and it was received positively. Thanks for posting the song...brought back some wonderful memories recent as well past. Nice to see you all. OH, I forgot to mention I soon will too be posting tunes here... so I'm just warning you all. I'm in the process of working out the details with the Bluzeguy. Thanks again Rick. : )
  3. Sudo, That is the cheesiest song I have ever heard... can barely listen to it  No wonder no one watched it after a few episodes. OK... I'm clueless here... 1982 I was completely WAYBRAINED and didn't watch TV. Was too busy reading my bible, running classes and trying to figure out when my next reproof session was about to happen from the my fearless leaders. But, I'm getting from Rick's hint that this was a spin-off from the show Happy Days. Right?
  4. Dear Belle, Thank you for posting those for me and your lovely comments. It is very much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed them. By the way... Dooj. ..your painting of your daughter by the poolside...is delightful. Reminds me of my youngest daughter... so sweet. I love your rich colours... I'm usually not a fan of oil paints... but your colours are so soft and bold all at the same time. and the look you captured on her face. they should be so proud to have a mom with such talent! lovely work. and ron. ..wowza... you amaze me with your work! cowgirl. make sure you take a picture of this mural when you're done. I look forward to seeing the final product! I'd love to see the spiderman one you did for the boys' room.
  5. Good Afternoon to you as well Kathy. ((hugs)))
  6. Digi, OOPS.... I just noticed I omitted a letter in a word and it changed my whole post. I meant to say ' I CAN'T DRAW OR PAINT" not "I CAN" Thank you Belle for the beautiful offer. I'll try send a couple to you. But, I don't have your email address. Maybe you could PM me. Thanks. I must tell all of you that after reading your sharings here yesterday, I grabbed my camera and went and took a slew of pictures. Thanks for the inspiration.
  7. Dear Dooj, Beautiful thread. I am not an artist by any means in that I can paint or draw as some so beautifully do around these parts but I am utterly inspired! I am proud to say though, that I do have a daughter who has just started high school this year in an arts program. She is in the visual arts program and is doing soooooooooo well! It has boosted her self esteem and her school marks are doing very well... what a transformation we have seen in her. Anyhow... after reading all the posts.... I couldn't help but feel inspired. I have for a long time dabbled in photography. Recently, I was given a 35 mm for Christmas and this year a zoom lens which i know very little about. My pictures are mostly of flora and children. I have also recently started using my photography for cards that I give to people. I think they like them... but not sure. I'd put a few pics on here... but have no clue how to. I've tried to attach a file...but it won't work :( anyhow, keep sharing everyone...it's so much fun to read!
  8. Mind Expanding Substances... AKA...MES .... cause you're usually a MESS by the time they're done with you! <------ this guy is tooo funnny!!! Actually I stole the 'mind expanding substances' line from a Billy Connelly Comedy Video I watched... My all time favourite comedian! OK.... i'm still waiting for my course on posting songs... hint hint, nudge, nudge!
  9. Sudo, wowza....you weren't kidding... grating...but i suppose if we had many mind expanding substances in our brains at the time, we might have enjoyed those tunes... hee hee Cowgirl...nice tune...the artist came up .. UHF....which i checked out but couldn't find any other songs that were similar??? Do i have the wrong group? Thanks for thinking of me. Chatty, yes... i'm next on the 'how to post a tune 101' class. I tried to post from my files via an 'attachment' thingy...but didn't work. so...I know it has something to do with URL's and such...but no one here at my house seems to know. ala needs help. :(
  10. Bowtwi, Ya...it does look so EASY! I'm next in line after you get thru' the 'how to post a song' course. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
  11. Sudo, JT is the #2 link... nice!! put a smile on my face most changed appearance??? huh?
  12. I can post the lyrics... SUNDAY MORNING AFTER Amanda Marshall I woke up with a killer hangover Hope it was worth all this pain (I'd do it all over again) By the time the party was over Tequila was my claim to fame (I couldn't remember my name) I was dancing with Jake when I last saw my keys That was my first mistake 'Cause, what happened to me? I look down at my arm, baby And something's lookin' back at me And I cannot believe it CHORUS: Oh my God!-- I woke up with a snake tattoo Oh my God!-- and I think that my tongue's pierced, too Oh my God!-- Oh my God! It's the Sunday morning after And baby, who the hell are you? I remember yelling, "Hey, DJ!" "Jack the volume, I love this song!" (And then it all gets hazy) And my clothes are selling on e-bay And I don't know what I'm gonna put on (Where were my friends to save me?) I blacked out I came to And it's all such a blur Had a blast, I assume But I'm really not sure Exactly where am I now, baby? Wake up and tell me your name 'Cause this is insane CHORUS Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! My alter ego took over and took me on a fantasy ride You can take me anywhere twice But the second time will be to apologize CHORUS x 2 Where am I...?, What am I...?, Who am I...?, How am I...?, How did I...?
  13. Sudo, You asked for a NEW YEAR'S EVE song... well i think i found a song that describes what you DON"T want to happen on new year's eve... but unfortunately I cannot post.... YET..... The artist... Amanda Marshall .... the song .... SUNDAY MORNING AFTER.... it's a hoot. enjoy if you can get to listen to it!
  14. Cowgirl, Wow! That was fast!! :o Thank you! I love that line.... "let the deep of the valley fill you with grace" hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm fills my insides with warmth and joy. :) Cowgirl....you've made my day! :D Merci mon amie. Sudo and Sushi-guy, Thanks for your input...I will certainly attempt your suggestions... They did the Sushi suggestion for quite a while...but didn't work....maybe the Sudo suggestion will work. Thank you.
  15. My dear friends, I have a computer question for some of you wizards around here. I recently did a major boo-boo  on my computer...and I somehow deleted my windows on my taskbar at the bottom of my desktop. Meaning, when you have several windows open at once they can be minimized at the bottom of your desktop in your taskbar. And, if you are chatting lets say, the windows can flash orange to let you know that the person has responded. All of this has now disappeared   and all that are left are icons ??? My husband and daughter have spent much time trying to solve this mysterious dilemma but to no avail. Any takers??? thanks.
  16. Hello!! i'm here Shellers...your comment under your avatar is halarious!!
  17. Ted, Wow!! :o You wrote a song after my suggestion. You are a doll and I gotta' say that that Moony Lady is one lucky woman! Sudo, Thank you for the warm welcome. It is appreciated ;) and by the way, cute hints on the 'ALA' song. Talking about lyrics... I have recently fallen in love with this song and its lyrics. The singer is Sarah Harmer and the song 'How Deep In The Valley' It's a longing, spiritual and makes you realize that sometimes living in that valley is an ok place. Her voice and her soulful simple rootsie sound makes me feel at home. Sorry, don't know how to post songs.. but will post the lyrics. enjoy. ................................................................................ .......... How deep in the valley How deep in the valley must you go To find what your footsteps already know The way on is the way out There are signs to follow There is deep in the valley And I’m bound to go How deep in the valley must you stay To know why your footsteps led you that way The way on may be truly to stand in one place And let the deep of the valley Fill you will grace And treat yourself lightly Treat yourself kind You’ve got nothing to worry on You will be fine You will leave this place laughing And somebody will cry There is deep in the valley Wonder not why Wonder not why go Wonder not to stay If it takes me and I follow Or if I lead the way It can come when it wants to But it might have to wait There is deep in the valley I don’t hesitate I don’t take it too lightly But it don’t weigh down too low There is high on the cliff top And there are deep creeks below There’s a green shade you can’t miss Where the spring water flows There is deep in the valley And I’m bound to go How deep in the valley must you go To find what your footsteps already know The way on is the way out There are signs to follow There is deep in the valley And I’m bound to go. sorry... this is so long... i expected it to be seperate posts... oh well
