  1. Sudo, OK...the first link I had no clue .. like Moony the Wonderful Cleaning Lady I could only think of Harry Belafonte. Now the second version I was thinking was Peter, Paul and Mary? Right??? OK...the last one... how cool. I loved it... sheeshh.. it sent me way back into my WAYDAZE  but it was a good trip. Beautiful song...but have NO  clue what movie it's from Nighty night Sudo
  2. Sudo, I'm clueless  I have NO idea who the singers are in both those links. I did get to see the clip with the song...very cute! :) Nice to see you here TED!
  3. George, HERE's another nice 'bassy' voice for you. Enjoy! Sudo... going to listen to your songs right now :)
  4. Peruser... what a nice treat to have you here with us!! Glad you enjoyed that last song. Well I have another little tune to send you all to sleep... Just click HERE to enjoy a little more acapella singing (well almost... except for a few percussive instruments). Nighty Night all!
  5. The earlier song was called Frobisher Bay. The song was written by a Canadian Folk Singer. His name is James Gordon and there is some history to the song but I didn't get a chance to look for it right now. But I did find him singing the song. The lyrics are easier to make out on this version HERE Enjoy. OK... I changed the file... it should be ok now! Sowwy... :(
  6. Mooony... I meant if you and Chatty are under the weather.... I'm on my own here. Bowtwi and Cowgirl haven't been around much... Sorry... didn't mean to offend.
  7. Wow Moony... Sounds like you've been through the mill this week. Ouch Girl!! Glad to hear you are on the mend now. : ) Chatty, You mend yourself up too .... I can't be the ONLY female around here... I can't compete with this Gilligan's Island and the moviestar Ginger. : ( I'll post some music...maybe that'll make me feel better. OK... Here I am! This song HERE is a beautiful but sad story of love lost. My daughter performed this with her high school choir and I thought it one of the most beautiful but haunting songs I had ever heard. (this in not her choir performing this though) Hope it doesn't send you poor ailing ladies back to bed. :( Hope you enjoy these voices. Nothing like the human voice is there. The perfect instrument.
  8. Chatty... you wrote: "Didn't you play the second one along with another of his songs and I didn't care for :( the second? I could go back and look but I ain't. " ooooppppsss!! Sorry... I posted the wrong dang song! I meant to post this one HERE. And I worked so hard on that post... sheeeshhh! Enjoy!
  9. OK... all this 'CRAZY' talk earlier got me thinking about a few things. First off, I realize that I am unable to post songs without all you guys and gals knowing who the artist is. So, I've decided I will simply interject once in a while and post songs for your listening pleasure. Sorta' like the resident Nostalgia DJ. Now, please be kind and smile even if you don't like my choices in music. I will certainly do my best to play some nostalgic type tunes that will bring back the 'good ole' days' and send you down memory lane. So... here I go! Well I was serious when I said that thing about the Crazy talk ... I started to think about this song HERE. Where were you when you first heard this song? Or maybe what memory is conjured up when you hear it? Also this one HERE ? I recently read that this man was said to be the Ray Charles of Ireland. I thought that was adorable. And last but not least. I know that this artist went through a God phase in his life. He recorded this song HERE which I thought was beautiful. Enjoy. hope some of you didn't listen to that 3rd song earlier...it was an incomplete file. I've fixed it ... it's now the whole song, not just 1/2. : )
  10. Chatty, After the first note... I had visions of a couple of stud-looking wanna-be cops running around in their speedy boats off the Floridian coast B)
  11. Rick, Wow...what a great tune! Who is that??? Was it specifically written for the show or was/is it a known song/group? That wispy voice reminds me of something...just can't put my finger on it. The Corrs come to mind.. but I know it's not them. And... I have NO clue what the show was?? But...just hearing the opening song would have been worth watching the show! Nice choice.
  12. Moony, That must have been beautiful to hear him play that song on the guitar to the kids. Glad this has brought back fond memories. Chatty, Ya, Willie would have to say that about that song. There is just no comparison is there? George, Cute... Jeannie vs Samantha arguments... And, wow... that martian man of yours was a busy guy...but, no wonder we never recognized his face...no one ever saw it! But, I must say... he has the most amazing eyes! (in real life face pictures that is!) Sudo, Sorry for distracting you... I guess for me growing up I was more into music than TV...so I get to thinking 'what music was playing' in those years rather than 'what show was on'? But I love this place any which way I can get it! The first milli-second of that tune I knew what it was. I remember the second leading man on that show being the funny guy. I found he was more entertaining that the two leading characters. He later went on to be a very funny neighbour on the Bob Newhart Show (the one where he was the psychologist with his wife Suzanne Plechette).
  13. Moony...please forgive me... I forgot to comment on your beautiful post. Thank you! :) Chatty, You got me thinking when you said you couldn't find any Patsy ... so I dug these up... I have 3 for you... The first one HERE is one of my all time favourites! Then this one HERE is beautiful. The beginning is a bit dated...but nonetheless... it's rich and beautiful. You may recognize it from our WayDAZE ... but it wasn't sung much for some reason. (probably something about it no doubt!) Though, it was always one of my ALLTIME gospel songs. And last and certainly NOT least this one HERE is just for YOU! You mentioned the Willie story. I was informed that he wrote that song at a very financially difficult time in his life therefore sold the song for $300. Ouch.... that's gotta hurt enjoy I gotta get some sleep .. This posting thing is mighty addictive.
  14. Sudo...that sounds like it was awesome! My wedding the DJ was a square dance caller (unbeknownst to us) and he called a whole set ... my parents were thrilled!!! Anyhow I'm posting this song HERE as a dedication to a very close friend GSer of mine Dougie. Dougie 73 is responsible for introducing me to both this band and Eva. We have had hour upon hour of wonderful musical discussion. We've exchanged cds and talked about a day when we would all jam together. This song is for you Dougie! Enjoy.
  15. Dear Sudo, It says... when I played your version of your song... "Sudo's Ole Lady" So I thought... OH MY... Sudo's wife sang and danced to her own wedding song... too cool. I know I'm so gullable. But I gotta tell you the first piano note I heard I KNEW it was HER.... she is incredible ... a gifted musician. I saw her last year here in Toronto. Like musical silk flowing all over my insides. I don't think I have this.. .is it from her DVD? I have the DVD .... can't remember if that's where I heard it? Patsy Cline did this song??? The first version I heard of this was by Patti Page. Is that who you danced at your wedding?
  16. Just a beautiful waltze... HERE One of the most beautiful renditions of this song (in my very humble opinion of course ) ... she is one the most gifted songstresses that I have ever had the privilege of listening to. enjoy... gotta go to work. <_<
  17. that's halarious Sudo.. hee hee.. sounds like me on a good day! OH and George... that last pic of that actor you posted Armin Shimerman...well no offense...but he looks like an alien in that picture...those ears... they're Spock ears... or maybe it's the shape of his face and head??? chatty... hello and welcome back...we missed you. :( and thanks for the future help with that program! should be fun <----- sarcasm!
  18. OK, Since I'm no Trekky connaisseur as you all can tell by the answers I gave George... I have now gone to my husband and picked his brain since he is the Trekky junky around here. He thinks that the first actor that was posted played Hugh on The Borg series in Star Trek Next Generation. I'm desperate!
  19. Hello Bowtwi!! So nice to see you here! Yes... ALA has joined the ranks of 'TUNE POSTERS' but... I have these weird files for some reason??? But I wish I could hide the names of the artists ... I change the file name as instructed by the Bluzeguy...but they still show up <_< Ya, Alberta, Alberta... you gotta love that song! George... was I correct on my guess??? or are you waiting for more input on that one before you give away the answer?
  20. Hiway, POOP!!!! Wish I knew what you could do so you could play it... i'm sure someone will pipe in here shortly and give you some...HOW TO PLAY ALA'S TUNES .... course. sorry :(
  21. George, Was it Fantasy Island ??? He had his little side-kick guy with him I think? OK... again...I never watched the show... just knew of its' happening...and who played on it. May have watched 2 episodes if that. Sudo and Pirate, You got me thinking about oldies when you were talking about the historic aspect of this thread. I mentioned a certain movie earlier that was pertinent (I thought) to the discussion that Sudo and Highway were having. This song HERE was played in one of the scenes in that movie. Who is the singer?
  22. Hello again! As I read the past days post this song came to mind... It's a Jack Johnson (surprise surprise ) Anyhow... it's about humans and there interesting facets <_< :( :)   enjoy. ok... I think i have the wrong song... I'm gonna have to search for it and be back.. .sorry : ( Kathy... glad to see you back home safe and well.
  23. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER STRANGE!!!
  24. Clem Robbins... He was as Jonny Lingo mentioned... a little 'off the wall'... artist type. Ya, he was someone you never forgot if you met him. Full of energy and passionate about his work. I remember talking to him at HQ... in 1990... he was at that time doing some contract work for Disney. He would tell me often... "If I had to draw a picture of Jesus... I'd ask your husband if I could draw him." I always thought that was coolest compliment ever! (of course this would be the Western worlds idea of what Jesus looked like).
