Mr. Music Man, Please... I'd love to hear the Alison stories... But the post I was mentioning was the one after that... the Guess who the kid is??? When you get it back up .. you will certainly enjoy it. Socks... such a way with words you have... you make a simple post about smileys sound like a PHD dissertation. Such a wonderful gift. OK...now for something completely different. Polar Bear my brother in law told me about this guy... he's a canuck and won guitarist of the year some time back... and ... and then i found this... Chet, Leo and Doc... this utube...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's infinitium....i'm falling into the youtube black hole.... :(

Mr. Music Man, I'm afraid you are reading too much into the smileys. Basically, Socks posted smileys when chatty came back after being away for a few days. Then, I asked Socks...if i were to be away would I get smileys too?? So then, Socks responded with another post of smileys. That's it... c'est tout... sorry... nothing more than smileys and bunch of goofie posters. Did you guess who the young boy was in the link I posted Mr. Music Man? I posted it for you especially. : )

Dear Sockster, You've made me such a happy little 'guitar' thread greasespotter...

OH MY!!! so much music to talk about so little time... sigh Socks Sorry I was so long in responding on your beautiful piece you posted. It seemed that my iTunes didn't want to play it because someone else on my computer was also logged onto my iTunes on our computer here. Anyhow, it all got straightened out and I absolutely loved it!!! What a sweet deal ... you and your wonderful daughter together... you must just be poppin' buttons all the time!!! Polar Bear welcome to our little music world here...it is always such a delight of discoveries with what everyone shares. Polar Bear and my hubby played orchestra for years. Hubby on trombone and Polar on trumpet. My sister and I would often call ourselves Orchestra Widows since we would never see them for days as they rehearsed. Vince Gill ... Socks you mentioned Vince and my heart jumped!!! I remember when we bought our first CD player stereo...I bought 2 or 3 Vince Gill CDs .... I couldn't seem to get enough of him. His sound was so pure, so interesting and pleasant to the ear. I, like you enjoy country music but I'm very selective. I must say Vince Gill is probably top guy for me in the new-country singers. What I loved about Vince is that he was a studio musician for years before coming on the big scene in the country world. He was first and foremost a musician...then a singer/performer. I believe he has tried to stay true to the art. I respect him for that. I found a few interesting YOUTUBE links ... the first is an interview. The second is Vince and Alison...doesn't get much sweeter than this... smooth...sooooo smooth... gotta run...

Went to see Amos last night.... OH MY!!! what a night.. even the 15 yr old kept saying... Man, that was a GOOD concert!!! She also said, "I was looking for one bad note... there weren't any!" Funny little fickle thing she is with a very impeccable ear. The musician who opened for him was a trumpet player called Christian Scott. His debut album that came out earlier this year was tawted as one of the best premiere albums in 10 yrs according to some big music magazine ... (just can't remember the name of it right now .. not Rolling Stones... but some other name I am familiar with, just can't remember ...sheeshhhh old age!). I met him and his band members... after the show. 4 guys all Berkeley Graduates and his guitarist is unbelievable... a Toronto boy. Check out : Christian Scott Now Amos Lee, His performance was flawless. And every song was delivered with such heart and soul! Many, Many, Many songs were interrupted with loud applauds and hoots and hollers as he would reach a certain point in the song were the audience anticipated a great note or a moving part of the song!!! From Blues, to Ballads, R&B, to Funk, to just plain ballads...he executed it all with such finness and tenderness. A wonderful night was had by all!!! Everyone who I spoke to said.. AMAZING!!! After the show he was in the lobby for signing and I got to meet him again. He remember me from last year in Vancouver and we chatted a bit. I gave him a little gift of a picture I had taken for the Shores of Lake Huron. Thought it would be appropriate being that he is an American and would be able to have a little gift from Canadia to take back with him. A magnificient night was had by all!!!!!!!!! I got a few good pics too. Him and my daughter for one! Very sweet. OK... I think this red head has had way too much excitement for one month! Found this ---> on you tube!

I remember I tried to keep an 'open mind' (OH MY GOD...THE DEVIL'S WORDS!) to many things ... especially music but so often if any of my 'thoughts' were voiced, they were quickly shut down, put down and I was then reminded that I should not be so 'weak' and to be aware of the influences I am allowing in my life. So like Skyrider said, they didn't need prisons, we put ourselves in the prison, locked the door and handed them the key. I remember trying to have fun in my life but I certainly wasn't having it in that Jesus forbidden outfit! I did what I had to do in TWI because I thought it was my duty not because it was fun. So when I did have fun (what I considered fun for me) I would think...'this won't last' or 'I'm not supposed to be having this much fun with an unrelated TWI activity, therefore, it must be the DEVIL who is tricking me away for my DUTIES.' What a tangled web. I must say that ever since finding GSC and learning the truth about ole' Vic and his cohorts, I can now honestly say that I'm happy at doing whatever it is I do or HAVE to do. I can get passionate about my life, about hobbies, interests and not feel guilty for it. I can love, engage, open up, be exhilirated .. and feel at peace with the universe. : )

You tube can be a very dangerous place... David, ONE question for you? So people dance like this ---> when you play? The music isn't that great on this one... but the dancing... is polished...very polished . This is a huge Fiddle/Stepdance Competion in Pembroke, Ontario each year. And the dance is over 4 minutes... and done all on their tippy toes... yikes

searching for sea monkeys on you tube...whodda' thunk it? OK... I have one thing to say... I've kept it a secret ... but I can no longer... I had at one time purchased these Amazing Sea Monkeys (by the way they don't look anything like monkeys) and at the end of the ASM season... the bigger one starting to eat the other ones. Yes, it's true folks and my children can attest to this. They were devastated. OH MY... I think I just figured out what happened... A DARK MONKEY got into my ASM aquarium!!! OH MY... I guess I wasn't living the love, feeling the love and being the love just quite enough... I let all those poor little ASMs down.... oh the shame of it. :( (top of page syndrome hits again)

Wow Skyrider, Wonderful post, wonderful topic. Yes TWI bred in us this thinking. I remember people saying to me years after I had left, how that I gave this air about me that made them feel that they were inferior to me somehow. How sad that made me feel. I had become the VERY thing I detested about those leaders in TWI that did this to me. I remember seeing and experiencing this in TWI. People who trashed others in the name of "TWI" to keep the household clean. I remember those who made us feel if we didn't shop at certain stores, or buy a certain 'kind' of equipment ie - from CD players, VCRs, Beta Machines, Holistic foods.... (sanctioned by the BOT of course) we were not part of the 'real committed' ones. OH the horse-doodoo........ is sooooo thick ... it makes me puke!! My family members suffered a great deal because of TWI and what they made us think about our 'earthly' families and how they were to be treated as trash. Elitist thinking... straight from the pit of hell!
