Mr. Music Man, you said... If it makes you feel any better... my husband used to call guitars 'git-fiddles' and by the way... YOUR FIDDLE IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL... it must sound amazing!!! And such history! When I saw the name JAQUES BOUQUAI... I knew we were talking old. 'JAQUES' is a very old spelling... these days it is spelt 'JACQUES'. :P
  3. Hammie, Do you have a thing for rodents? (please, no gross jokes - thanks)
  4. David, I was just thinking the same thing... Wow!!! Nice to see that name here again!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CC!!

Mr. MUSIC MAN, What a lovely lovely violin you have... How old is that violin? Probably sounds like a dream! Socks/Chatty, Mos-guitars? Call me duh...but I don't get it?
  6. Linca.. is that you with Santa? I'd love to see a blow-up pic of that.. it's precious. I love his beard and eyebrows... looks like authentic felt batting to me. ok..back to your regularly scheduled program.
  7. So is it Grounhog Day??? Is that the answer???
  8. OH MY... nightmare I'm sure was an understandment. I'm sure TWI was the punch-line to every joke in that precinct. And the arrogance that those officers had to deal with in trying to straighten out a situation with the WAYPOLICE. I just can't imagine what that was like ... well actually I can, but I'd rather not. (there's no pukey face emoticon or I would have inserted one here).
  9. Dear Sky, A very thought provoking thread. Thank you for sharing this at this time. I'm not sure if this relates to what you have started here... but today I was in deep thought about how the BOTs were laiden with gifts each year at the ROA from all the different international countries represented at the ROA. Sometimes this would be 30-40 countries. Each country bringing a gift for each BOT and their spouses. I remember each year our country coordinators would be racking their brains as to what to get the BOTs this year for the ROA. Each gift would be displayed in the International Outreach tent for everyone to see. I used to peruse the table and was always completely amazed at some of the most expensive and beautiful gifts from these foreign countries. I remember seeing the gifts brought from Zaire and wondered how a poor country like theirs could afford such gifts. I'm sure their own country coordinator never allowed himself such luxuries. I was taught that the gift giving thing was from the Eastern custom where the MOG was brought a gift to show gratitude and thankfulness. Therefore, if you did not bring a gift you were breaking spiritual protocol ... NOT GOOD!!! It seemed that the BOTs year after year enjoyed receiving these gifts. Yet, I would often think... In these days and times... with the plurality that the BOTs enjoyed, why wouldn't they say.. 'NO need to bring gifts. We know you are appreciative, especially the countries who we know struggle economically.' Or perhaps, 'You have come from so far, spending sometimes 1,000's of dollars to fly here... gifts are not necessary.' Most gifts displayed their country's most valuable resources... such as gem stones, artisan works and pure linens, wools, works done by famous individuals of that country...etc... ect. Things I would only DREAM of owning. One year as our country coordinators were scratching their heads as to what to bring THIS year... (because each year it became more and more difficult to come up with something that hadn't been done before) I suggested perhaps something made by believers. I crocheted at the time, so I said perhaps I could crochet a shawl for the older ladies such as Emogene or Mrs. W or Wanda. They said nice idea.. but no. About a month later a received a call asking me to make 2 shawls. This was only 3 weeks before the ROA.. or maybe even 2 .. not sure. As anyone who's knitted or crocheted... this takes time. So of course, the little waybot that I was.. was so HONOURED that I was asked that I completely ignored the fact that this was way too short of a time and I did it anyway. Away I went, crocheting each day 'til the wee hours of the morning to finish the work. I was told that the ladies liked them, but no thank you was said to me or even mentioned. Sorry if I may have have derailed this thread, but when you mentioned that you saw no signs, wonders or miracles that followed their lives, IMO it was because these MOG's and MOG wannabees were very selfish individuals. NO signs, miracles or wonders could ever follow such persons. It would have defied all of the laws of the universe.
  10. Sunesis, Did i read you right? He was working at Einstein's Bagels... (was he serving at the counter?) OH MY Met him at PFAL 77 I agree with all of you... a wonderful, intelligent man.
  11. Nottawayfer, Did she write this article while still on staff??? And if so, OMG.... TWI was so full of themselves! well... actually... they were full of themselves wether she did or not! Potato, You are absolutely right.
  12. About 15 years ago I had a very good work friend who was a member, along with her husband, of TWI. She took me to several meetings, at her home, at the home of a "pastor" for a Bible study, and I even spent a weekend at the compound in Ohio. It all creeped me out, to be frank. The quote above comes from a poster named Muffinmum. When I read COMPOUND.... I had to chuckle. A perfect word for that place!
  13. Muffinmommy... You might want to put your story on the FRIEND TRACKER forum. People will be looking there for names of people. You might get some better results there. Bonne Chance!

HOPE!!! So glad to hear you've picked up your guitar again. YOOHOOO!!!!! I also hear that your daughter is doing very well for herself ... playing and singing!! Yes, Joni's tunings... I was told that she used up to 12 different tunings... amazing to me just amazing! Just discoved this guy on the AMG site. AMG sends me an email every 2 weeks or so letting me know all the new releases. I always feel like such a boob when I find out about a performer who's real good and somehow I know nothing about them. Like my head has been in the sand or something. Anyhoooo.... here's Eric Bibb. He's actually playing in Toronto tomorrow night and I can't go! POOP! Eric reminds me somewhat of Keb Mo'. Check him out. I probably shouldn't be out and about anyway... Dr. thinks I have walking pneumonia... sheesh..that almost sounds serious. I'm on heavy drugs so I prob shouldn't be seen in public at this point!

I envy you having had the chance to see concerts at this concert hall... :( Wow.. Jesse is a very attractive individual... I can't imagine with the long hair. He must have to literally throw the women off!!! :o oh to be young again... sigh

Socks, You said.. wow.. he's so YOUNG there.. am I missing something??? Are we supposed to view these concerts? Or were you just mentioning his voice and the fact that HE WAS young? What amazed me was that his voice hasn't changed at all...it has remained the same pretty much. And didn't know that Fire and Rain was about a time where he spent in a mental institution. All in all... amazing musician.

  21. I must say that since the new facelift around here, I have had to login once in a while when i'd open up my GS shortcut.. which never happened before. Just figured I was doing something wrong. Now today was a whole dif story... I was grazing through the many different galleries of posters... some pics I was ok with ... then suddenly, in the middle of a gallery ... i'd get logged off... then i'd log on only to get logged off on the next pic. It didn't happen with every gallery but with many of them.
  22. Dooj.... great post... i remember my wow sister was hyped on this ... God told me... god told me to wash this floor and i found a button... sorta' deal... I could barely stand being in her presence. In the second month of our wow year she picked up with another wow from another wow family and disappeared. Turns out God told them to elope. Sprawled Out, I couldn't agree more!! I often chuckle heartily at Exxie's perfect few words!
