  1. I was hoping someone could get this today. I may be too busy to post next couple of days. Not that I will be playing the stock market. besides having no money to do so, I couldn't deal with all those buyers and *******.
  2. It's a wonder Apple doesn't sue Kraft for their Easy Mac.
  3. Nope... "If I were my father, I'd have you tortured" "No. If you were your father, I doubt very much if I would have kissed you". "Any idea how we get out of here?" "I don't know. I've been all over this place. I've been up this street, up that one, up that one. How are we gonna get out here?" "Why don't you try the high road up there?" "Okay. I'll take the high road, you take the low road. So long." "At times like this, I wish I was but a simple peasant." "It's times like this that make me realize how lucky I really am." "I've never really known another man like him. He can keep ten girls in the air at once and make each one happy." "Amazing, sort of a contemporary Don Juan?" "Well, who owns the most fabulous diamond in the world?" "I suppose I do." "When the present government seized power, they claimed the diamond was the property of the people. There's even some talk of the international court deciding the issue." "I'll tell you what, why don't I steal the diamond, leave that old glove or whatever it is behind, and you and I can split the insurance." "I am willing to bet you ten thousand francs, that the phantom is in Cortina at this very moment. Even, perhaps, in this very room." "How exciting. What do you think, Mr. Tucker?" "Oh, I agree with the inspector. You see, Ten of his last fifteen victims have been guests at Angela Dunning's parties." "What are we all talking about?" "The notorious Phantom." "I'm afraid I never heard of him." "From the little I've read about him, he seems to be quite a fellow." "Believe me. There are few thieves who are as clever as the Phantom. Each theft is completely different and unique, classic in its conception." "I thought you were working on the theory that he does repeat himself." "Well, only as far as Angela Dunning's parties are concerned. However, there is one other duplication, but that is his ah... trademark, his calling card, so to speak. He always leaves a white monogrammed glove." "Sounds terribly theatrical." The biggest names in this movie are its star and its composer, with the composer IMO having a bit of an edge.
  4. Yea, and without you know who again. My Indians and their local bug population helped spoil the classic rivalry last season. This year it is the Rays who stuck their nose into the thing. But.... I just read how Steinbrenner was ripping the playoff system...but he had to go to the NL to do it, evidently feeling that the Dodgers shouldn't get into the playoffs over the Yankees when the Yanks had the better record. My, those grapes are sour aren't they? Oh well, like father like son... and speaking of poor Detroit...this is slightly , but it does have some similarities to the poor Tigers' plight...I see the Lions finally got rid of my old Penn State guy, Matt Millen, after all these years of dismality. He was great on PSU defense many years ago, but as a front office guy..... And thus the baseball thread gets the honor of my 2000th GS post.
  5. Well, I guess if baseball (or any sport) were perfectly predictable, no one would watch it. Just like if the weather never changed, I wouldn't have a job. No way I would have risked anything two days ago on Jackson winning in Fenway and Lee losing.
  6. "If I were my father, I'd have you tortured" "No. If you were your father, I doubt very much if I would have kissed you". "Any idea how we get out of here?" "I don't know. 7. That might cost them some Jobs.
  8. I saw this movie because it was recommended to our class by my favorite Hindu, Mr. Evans, my 8th grade algebra teacher. He said it was much better than a well known satire flick which was playing at the same time. If no one gets this by tomorrow, I guess I will resort to the semi-givaway kind of clues. I know in all courtesy when you-re up on this thread, you have a certain duty...
  9. Yea, his second try actually. he had a bad game against the Twins last week and got a no decision but the Tribe won that game.
  10. "If I were my father, I'd have you tortured" "No. If you were your father, I doubt very much if I would have kissed you". "Any idea how we get out of here?" "I don't know. 11. Maybe fellowshipper was allowing that you could have spilled some rubbing alcohol on the phone.......
  12. Okay I was wrong, and i almost had to faint. Beckett did well to hold the Indians hitters down as much as he did. But the real surprise was Jackson pitching as well as he did in Fenway. The bullpen? No surprise, they've been hot and cold, and they were hot when they had to be. I guess a ball hitting an umpire messed up the red Sox, but so did 12 LOB.
  13. The Tribe re-learned how to hit during the middle of the season. Yesterday they scored 10 with Sizemore laying goose eggs. In the meantime, Bosox hitters should be happy to see Jackson, whose 6.48 ERA is not deceptive. Thus my prediction the way I made it. If there are less than 10 runs scored combined, I'll be surprised; less than 5 and I'll faint.
  14. ...and it did ampere his career.
  15. Oh, good, I see George logged in today; I bet he'll get it.
  16. They'll get it, unless the Tribe REALLY has their hitting shoes on. Possible 12-7 final score.
  17. I wouldn't do that within earshot. I hear he even talked back to his boss the other day when he said cir, cuit it out!
  18. Scott Lewis finally gave up his first ML run; gave up 3 in fact, but still improved to 3-0. Indians 41-24 since 7/9; to little to late in spite of the floundering teams above them. Cliff Lee makes another try for number 23 tomorrow (Tuesday)... in Fenway.
  19. This is not an obscure movie. The first one I thought of, the original 1959 "Journey to the Center of the Earth" was, I think, and I did not use it for that reason. This one is a classic of its kind, better IMO than any of its several sequels/spinoffs.
  20. I don't think you have, and a belated thanks for your input, including from chat that recent time.
  21. "If I were my father, I'd have you tortured" "No. If you were your father, I doubt very much if I would have kissed you". "Any idea how we get out of here?" "I don't know. 22. Maybe. We could get a mental health professional to put him through a battery of tests.
  23. Tried, hasnt worked so far...including a few other relatives I tried while doing it.
  24. Nope. For my next entry, should I go with another quote, or a time pinning hint, or another type of hint?
  25. Hey...I know just a little bit about how it feels, having followed him during all his Cleveland Indian years.
