  1. Specifically, it's a word for "idiot" (although not as strong as idiota) in Spanish. As far as selling TWI stuff goes, I've found that there are people out there who still believe in TWI stuff but are in the offshoots, and there is no way to talk them out of it. I wouldn't feel guilty about selling my stuff to an offshoot attending person. It's those that would randomly pick up the book and start thinking, "Hey, I never heard of it, but this PFAL stuff is great!" that worries me more than anything.
  2. That's sort of like those guys who get mad at their mothers for throwing their comic book collections away. Seriously though, one of the reasons I have yet to sell any of my TWI stuff is that I don't want to promote TWI in any fashion. I don't like the idea of their books falling into the hands of an innocent person who doesn't know what they're getting themselves into.
  3. Tonto, This is yet another derail...but, I am curious why you chose "tonto" for your name. When I see it, I think of what it means in Spanish and laugh, which I doubt was your intention...
  4. Interesting story Oak. It sounds like you took a good stand on your principles when you left. It's amusing, because although they are the ones that told you that you're not welcome, it was indeed you who left their game, mentally. They always say that it's a battle in the arena of your mind, so in this case you won. Congratulations on getting out and staying out.
  5. Wow! I just saw those SNS tapes. I have a bunch sitting around somewhere that I got from someone else that gave them to me in a tape holder from who knows when. I'm sure there are Wierwille tapes there based on how old they are. I should get around to selling my books too. In fact, I just saw that someone is selling a ton of stuff (recently out of TWI perhaps?) and if they get as much money as they are asking for, I'll definitely have to put my stuff up on eBay. I could probably make a good $500 from my TWI stuff if those prices are all correct.
  6. I saw this movie, and thought it was fairly boring. The premise is that a large organization, similar to the Carlysle Group, implanted thought control devices into the brains of a group of soldiers in the war over Kuwait with Iraq. The company then got one of the soldiers on the White House ticket as the VP. Really, minus the mind control technology, reality is more shocking than this movie and there was very little suspense because it was difficult to care about the characters. I haven't seen the first one, but I imagine it was a lot better.
  7. Well, the movie is full of twists that you won't expect, but there are no earth shattering things (unless the ending isn't obvious to you) that happen.
  8. Saw it, not impressed. It was fairly dull and slow-paced, and the suprise ending was something I expected and seemed obvious from the very beginning, considering that it took place in Pennsylvania. Actually, having grown up in a cult makes it seem fairly obvious too.
  9. That sounds almost like Thai food. You might want to try pad thai sometime if you've never had it. Think of it as almost of a spaghetti with a peanut and ginger sauce, and if you get meat you can get shrimp or chicken on it. Good stuff.
  10. Given all of our backgrounds, I'd say that one of the most important latin phrases is, "Nihil curo de ista tua stulta superstitione." I am not interested in your dopey religious cult.
  11. Chuck, I may or may not agree with what you wrote, but I'd suggest using paragraphs. As it is now, I can't read your post.
  12. Definitely. We have a system down, actually. If the contract is 6 months or more, we move. If it is less than 6 months, we stay in a hotel. She's been considering going back to school though, in which case she'd go live with her sister in Phoenix, and I would go visit on weekends (of which I would also request a lot of working from home, if possible. It could be 4 days on site, one day of travel, then a week at home.) The only potential problem is if the job would require some sort of secrecy where I wouldn't be able to work from home at all. The work is with very important and sensitive data, which I can't elaborate on further, so it's possible that they won't even want me to check work email from home. It doesn't require a security clearance, but if I go to that position, there is a really high chance I'll need one before too long.
  13. Oddly enough, I may be getting my next job there, so I won't take a vacation now. I'm going to wait and see what happens with the job front.
  14. A good place talking about it was an article on Salon.com (sorry, I haven't bookmarked the URL but I may be able to find it later.)
  15. How else are we supposed to act? You have to understand that if you take away their (meaning the people you are afraid of, not actual terrorists) rights, you lose your own as well. Freedom is not political correctness, it is about human rights and what so many people have died to protect for our nation. Actually, the woman that wrote the article made the story up. The truth is that some Syrian musicians were travelling together to play at a hotel. They took turns getting up to pee, they talked to each other since they knew each other, and flew on an airplane. Nothing more, nothing less. Richard Reid is a British guy, not an Arab, and if he had shaved his face and cut his hair, he would have blended in perfectly and many people would have died as a result. I don't know if you've seen the videos of the 9/11 hijackers who were forced to go through extra security, but in those photos they look like respectable average guys, which was their camoflauge. It's not easy to spot a terrorist because they come from all sorts of nationalities, religions, etc. I wouldn't feel any better knowing that my loved ones were killed by a white Christian American veteran like Timothy McVeigh than I would by an arab Muslim Saudi terrorist like Mohammad Atta. What bothers me is that while we're all fearful of sikhs or whatever, al Qaeda will have convinced some blond haired blue eyed guy with khakis and a polo shirt to hijack a plane and crash it into something. We have to take away their motivation to attack us, and we have to take the personal responsibility to fight back if they come after us. There's nothing else we can do, and there's no reason to dwell on it. However, we can't let our desire to do something and our fear drive us to make stupid choices that go against what our country stands for. Without freedom, what is there left to protect?
  16. These guys were a music group contracted by a hotel, and the woman that wrote it is a manipulator who is simply trying to make herself famous. --> There are plenty of real terrorists out there to deal with, we don't need hysterical morons inventing stories to make everyone scared.
  17. I read something that would be news up towards your area. Apparently a school district is either in the process of buying, or has already bought health books that make claims like getting enough sleep will prevent STDs, and that respect can prevent pregnancy. I don't know if that is exactly how the book put it, but I think we've definitely got problems when it comes to discussing this subject. I even recall a guy I worked with last year making statements about how men can't get HIV from a woman (it is true that it is more difficult, but not impossible by any means) and other ridiculous things. I wish our society would be able to have a national conference about sex where everyone attended and learned something, but that's not possible.
  18. I've been wanting to see this for a while. Now that it's out I'll have to order it.
  19. It's true, but it's mainly older people (of whom make up the largest age group here I think.) If you look at younger people, they don't have as much of an aversion to it. In fact, it's not uncommon to overhear groups of 12 year old girls discussing giving BJs to guys. My wife and I were eating at an ice cream restaurant recently and this was occuring at a table behind us. They may or may not have been 12, but they were definitely very young. I do have to wonder if my generation and those after will do like those who were in their teens and twenties in the 60's did. All those hippies seemed to become Christians, parents, and prudes, acting exactly like those they rebelled against.
  20. This is why I posted my question above as well. If your goal was not to involve GreaseSpotters in a flamefest on another site, why would you have posted this thread? We all saw the arguments that went on here last week and prior around the JWO users that came here, and those that wanted to continue the argument picked it back up at JWO and left GreaseSpot pretty much alone. The other threads either scrolled off of the page or were moved to other forums here, so the fighting died down here and people started getting things back to normal. However, you then posted this, which I don't see how you could have done without knowing that it would start the fights back up here. I think it's a matter of restraint that the people there have not come back to flame you here, and I think it's good you made at least one post there, although I'd prefer to see threads like this over there rather than here. The point is that I believe you posted this in order to "sow discord" as the Christians would say. I can see no benefit to anyone for starting this thread, knowing well what had just went on here and that it might spark things back up. It looks like it might have even been an attempt to get people on your side by pointing out the bad things other people have called you. I don't know, but I don't think it was a good thing for you to post this thread or to maintain it.
  21. Has anyone else seen this film yet? I really liked it, although I didn't have high expectations to begin with. The robot "Sonny" was clearly the best actor, and Will Smith actually did a better job in portraying this role than playing his normal "Fresh Prince" style.
  22. Hilarious movie...and I do need to go see Dodgeball still.
  23. You know, Mexico had things like cable modems long before I even heard of such a thing being available anywhere in the U.S. I know it wasn't your intent, but this was no better than a nigger or faggot joke. By the way, the original joke was supposed to be:
  24. We figure we'll be in Sinaloa for Christmas anyway, and Mazatlan is not that far from where we will be going. I've actually been out at Topolobampo (my bachelor party) and found it to be good, but there wasn't much beach. Mazatlan is not that far away, so it should be a fairly quick trip to get there from my wife's grandmother's house, and then back in time for Christmas.
  25. TheEvan, Thanks for the suggestions. I definitely want to go there for the food so those suggestions will be noted. I don't think the wife would be into blues a whole lot, but I'll take her to somewhere anyway just for the experience. :D--> Also, the museum sounds good. I'm interested in WWII stuff, so it sounds to be up my alley.
