This is comical WordWolf, because the only one I've read is the first one.....I never saw the one you posted! I wonder if there are other variants around!?

Is there any type of parallel or serial connection which will provide this conversion? What do you think my chances are of pushing the one back in from inside the machine. That is, it is now inside the case....is I open the case (which I am loath to do.....fear ya know) is it plausable to think I could restore the one I have? Thanks you guys. You are both ever vigilent to check this area out for us....who don't have such knowledge and never fail to offer valuable help. Me - and my compadres are in your debt~ krys

I heard a sportscaster (can't remember who) last night who, made what I though was an interesting statement. It doesn't excuse the players, but rather puts this whole thing in a different perspective for me. What he said was (more or less as much as I can remember it): Maybe this will be enough to have the NBA (and other organizations like them) stop selling beer at these events. The players are charged up with adrenaline and other energy as they should be during a game, and to a lesser extent, perhaps the fans. But when you give the fans beer....and don't retrict how much they drink, incidents like this are bound to happen. I'm the last one to want to spoil anybody's fun, but that does make a lot of sense to me.

Nope - t'isn't math at all. It is one of the best examples of thinking outside of the box that I can remember seeing!

I have seen this before, but I loved reading it again.

This puppy is 3 years old, and I really am not quite ready to turn it in. I broke the one in the front....pushed too hard and popped it into the machine case. The one in the back is used for something important that I can't do without. Is there a way to turn some of the unused pin connectors (don't even know what they're for) into additional USB ports? I suppose I can take it out to somebody to have more installed? Thanks

I'll bet that room was hot in the summer!

Back to the future via Flash Gordon....and Captain Video and his Vido Rangers (circa 1958-ish)

If Alienware interests you, you might go here: Alienware This is where Zixar suggested I get the one I own. He helped me, together with others, and I'm still satisfied with it....and it was much cheaper than in other places.

Happy Glorious B'Day Mathilda!

I wish I could have known him! But in a way, I do. When I was so ill last year, and spent a short time in the hospital, Paw found a way to get my unpublished number to ask my famiily what he could do. We do not know each other. I might recognize him becaue of various photos around here, but he'd never pick me out of a lineup. Pawtucket: your Dad is gone from this life, but his ideas and the way he lived his life live on in you and your siblings. I, for one, am sure he was very proud of you; and I, for one, am glad he was on this earth for a time. Such good family men are sometimes hard to find.

It is really a shame that so many people have such a negative view of the military as a career possibility. There are so many opportunities for young people who don't have money for college, or don't have a clear direction they want to go in. If they enlist, they can learn a whole lot while maturing into young adulthood and have the potential to experience things they could not otherwise do. My husband spent his enlistment in the Marines in various places, Cuba, Italy, Egypt, Spain...as an ordinance man loading airplanes on an aircraft carrier. It was not easy work, not free from danger (loading bombs under running aircraft while on a rolling boat!), but he was able to enjoy some off time in "exotic" locations. An agemate of mine was drafted and after their extensive testing, they discovered he had an unusually unique ability in the foreign languages eventhough he only studied 2 years of French in high school. They trained him in Vietnamese and he spent the majority of his first hitch translating intercepted messages while he himself was in safe terriroty. When he left after his second hitch, he was fluent in Japanese and functional in one of the Chinese dialects. He now works as an interpreter earning a substantial salary in the business world. I often wished some of my students would have considered enlisting, not for life necessarily, but all they would learn, at no cost to themselves is certainly a plus! Additionally those inner city kids didn't have a "studious" bone in their bodies, but within the structured framework of the military, I know they would have gotten a better start in their young lives.

Well - I know about how much it is.....but I wish we didn't have to mix English and Metric units....I can work in either system....but don't ask me to convert!

I believe you that it's a fifth of a gallon. Now why would they sell it that way. A fourth of a gallon is a quart! And that's a bigger bottle....bigger volume = bigger bucks. There must be a reason why it is sold that way!
-
I am uneducated in lots of this stuff! In volume - how much liquid is a "fifth of rum"...a fifth of what? Thank you gents for your contributions to my education. :)-->

I'm so sorry to hear of this. It is so hard to lose a parent. My heart to yours.

I wonder a lot of things about this woman! But we shouldn't be judging her. I wonder inside my own head, what could I do if I were she, and there's lots of things I think I would rather do than raise twins, but then, I'm not her. I know a number of young couples we used to traditionally think were of child bearing potential, and they're not postponing children, they don't seem to want them...various reasons apply. What concerns me a whole lot more than a woman of her age wanting and bearing children is what appears to be a disproportioal distribution of the children that are born! It seems that very young unmarried women have a larger proportion of babies than older couples who are financially and domestically (by tradition) apparantly better prepared. The repercussions on society are probably obvious.

I wish I could givae you a hug and a piece of chocolate cake for your birthday!

I've been rethinking this. Maybe I have to retract my previous statement. Perhaps in revealing all, her children learned how much she cared for them. If the man was abusive and she "removed him" isn't this an ultimate kind of love? And - by keeping him in a freezer, his body could not be found. Without a body, there is no crime. Methinks she was smarter than I had first given her credit for!
-
The link would not work for me. I'll refrain from any more discussion.

Check around where you might get guitar lessons. Often they will rent an instrument understanding that children often change their minds. My oldest started with a rented clarinet and loved all the wind instruments. We bought her a decent clarinet once we realized how much she liked it and how good she was at it. Eventually, she learned to play all the woods in the high school orchestra....bassoon....oboe....all those things!
-
Well - I guess I'm the odd one out. I think she should have kept her big trap shut! The children have enough to deal with, now - her death and burial for example. To bring up a father they's possibly forgotten, or had dealt with somehow in the past....is cruel to them.
-
Don't always insist on brand new. With one exception, every washer and drier I ever owned was bought second hand. Most refrigerators and every freezer - the same. I bought several upholstered pieces also, but since I brought home more than I bargained for last time (fleas from their dog) I won't do that again. If the items are in good working condition, and their appearance isn't important (like the item hangs out in the basement) you can save a ton of money.

I am curious to know what % mormons are so successful as supposed to Catholics or Protestants or other religions. Maybe we just hear about the famous ones?
