Not a good enough deal Mr. P - - --BANG!!!
-
Mister P-Mosh - I own guns too. If you look longingly at my Spam - you're dead 'cuz I know how to use mine!
-
If it gets too rough quitting cold turkey - I highly suggest Commit losengez. That was the only thing that did any good for me, and it worked like a charm (yeah - I know - no evil intended, though) Sudo, professional addiction counselors say that nicotiene is more compelling than heroin.

Well - that's a little extreme! But it's always prudent to be prepared for emergencies. Anyone who doesn't admit this scenario is in the realm of possibilities is not being real. No one wants this as an outcome, but we cannot deny the possibility. Our family carries the home and work phone number of a long time friend outside of this area. In the event of something like a 9-11 disaster, we've enlisted his help - we will all call him as soon as we reach a phone and check in. There are plenty of folks in Florida this summer who would have given their right arm for a few MRE's and a dozen sealed bottles of water!

Do you have any roses in your collection cowgirl?

ditto Jim - - but it only happened once and that was yesterday. It is slow most of the time...bur once in a while it's ok.

The only thing you're guilty of is wanting to do the impossible. I don't see how you could have made any other decision.

I wasn’t in for very long before a good friend of mine got “in” and also witnessed to her grandmother. The grandmother took the class and loved it. She thrilled at knowing so much cool stuff at her age (mid 80’s) when having been an RC for that time, she knew nothing. She hung out with us…went to ROA’s eventually took the Advanced Class etc.She was an exemplary wafer until she became ill and soon passed away. She planned her funeral and decided to be buried by the RC church and I was shocked! My friend told me her grandmother never let go of her RC friends and they never knew she wasn’t going to church because everybody went to different masses etc….but she knew that we wafers knew the truth but her RC friends needed the comfort of a familiar ritual….so that’s what she wanted. Taught me a thing or 2!

I wouldn't use it as a baby sitter...they already have monitors for that....but I would use it on middle school kids. Yepper...I definitely would snoop!

I wonder how you would successfully cook such a critter. How could you get the center part done properly without getting the outter parts rubbery? I also wonder if it would be tough? I don't want to spoil your party - really...but I am curious!

Happiest of Birthdays and warmest congratulations on the new job!

I'm glad you said that Paw - I suspected it! I installed SpyBot before linking this one to the 'net, but I didn't run it...I never figured! I don't know why, but I'm not all that upset about cookies. I don't think they're so terrible...and if it makes certain web sites better, maybe the owner is "entitled" to that feedback. It's the other stuff I don't appreciate!

I have every confidence in the product! I seriously object to the attack-dog method of one of it's messengers.

Yews Paw - - I did have 2!!! I disabled McAfee and have antiVir running. I also visit Trend Micro often for a second optinion.
-
Steve - they share nothing! However if I do what you suggest, won't I bump the second computer off the internet? The only reason for the networking was to provide internet service to that second computer.
-
Wow Steve!! How many Presidents get to hold a Flat Stanley! Cool!!
-
...and none of his representatives will share any of your personal information nor ask you for your screenname or password..........
-
Yes, Steve! There are 2 computers. This computer is directly connected to the router, and the other one has a wireless connection.
-
I am networked! So, I guess I need to keep that puppy. I did some reading last nite...boy did I read at the Microsoft Info center..... PerfNet has something to do with monitoring how longs get started (?) Windoze is Weird! One of my error messages led to info that Microsoft acknowledges there is a problem....one of them has to do with a problem in SP1 and no info about one of the others. I turned one system on manually....and decided to deactivate McAfee because it keeps knocking on the door to go out and verify that it is updated! I have 2 virus programs, and 2 security programs and a router....I decided to turn Mc"Afee off for the tie being. We'lll see if this helps.

Abi I have lots of junk on this one too every day. The only thing that makes any sense to me is that in addition to the internet becoming a minefield.....this spyware may be set to count every little thing. Your hijacker isn't little...I was talking about the cookies and junk we get every single day. I*'m ....ed about it too.
-
Excathy - don't ever question yourself about being a good person - you are that! Sometimes when our relatives do heinous things, it is all we can do to restrain ourselves....I don't ever want to be a "good sister" again! I hear you.
-
There are those days where I also think safety is an illusion. And I'm not raising children. Honestly, I don't know how my daughter does it...and my grandson is only a bit over 18 months old! When we were out carousing in the stores in January - my heart flipped a few times...but she is as steady as a rock!
-
Of course I see what you're saying. There were times when our kids were small that we were squeezed tighter than others...but there was very little or no wiggle room in our budget until I was able to get into a suburban school where the salaries were better. Where you live, how many in your household, what kinds of jobs are availabe...they are all variable.
-
You aren't condescending....those of us who really know you know that!! But I can understand how some folks who are financially strapped tighter than you guys might be running out of options!
