I'm glad you posted that link, Rocky. I didn't really understand what it was so I spend much of yesterday afternoon checking it out. It looks pretty nasty to me! I thought doc vic was "good" at twisting Scripture, but that group could have taught him a lesson or two!

Does it BOTHER you that your neighbor beilieves in a Trinity?

Bluzeman, that doesn't have to be political. Various prominent individuals have tried to make it political, but it's really a scientific one. If somebody tries to take it down the political road, the Mods will cut them off at the pass. It should be a separate thread in the Open Forum, though. -
No brother should ever fondle his sister(s). That is 100% dead wrong. I'm not in denial - - I just prefer to call a "spade" a "spade".It should not be called a "club".
-
Methinks Garth hath misunderstood something. Molest DOES NOT = Screw. The articles that Waysider posted for us to read stated that he fondled their breasts and touched their genitals. That is pretty bad itself, but they were not screwed.
-
Garth, are you really gone from this conversation? Did you really read the links Waysider posted? He didn't screw his sisters! I guess you've made up your mind and don't want to bother with the facts.
-
Waysider, that's fine by me. That is the perfect solution.
-
Hold up there, Garth, for a minute please. You hate them so much that your posts are approaching nasty! Before you quoted Waysider's response, you surely felt they were "vile" but those were not your reasons. You'd have said something of the like if they were....and not much of what he revealed was known to us then. I'd really like to know what they are!

Thanks, Waysider. I've looked over most of it and I guess it needs more careful reading. I do agree that my prior stand was probably premature, at least, it part.
-
Waysider - where dd you get your info? I'm not challenging you, I'd just like to know. You got a whole lot more than I found and that puts things in a different light.

I checked with Google and found a blog that someone had been keeping. Season 6 was in 2012. That means that they first went on the air in 2006 (2012 - 6 = 2006) That year Joshua was 18. Here's how I figured that: This is their 9th season. (2015 - 2006). If Josh is 27 now he was 18 when the series began. That was 4 years after the molestations. It doesn't seem like anything was swept under the rug for the benefit of the show as it seems unlikely that there was any thought of it at that time.

Comparing an old man lecher with a 14-year-old doesn't seem right IMHO. The old man was looking for satisfaction, and, perhaps the boy was as well - yet I tend to think there was more curiosity than anything else. I've taught many youngsters that age and I have to tell you that all 14 yr.olds are not created equally. Some are very mature mentally, physically, and in all other ways and some not so much. I don't know how long they've been on the air, but these tragic events would have to have happened 13 years ago. Josh is 27 now and this occurred when he was 14, so that's 13 years. The reason I bring this up is that maybe dealing with it the way they did had nothing to do with the show.(?) If that's the case, it's probably best that once everything was handled, and the girls received the appropriate apology and his parents' discipline, perhaps that should have been the end of it - - especially in view of his youth. In I Cor. 13, one of those statements about "charity" what it does and what it doesn't do.....one of those, says "it covers over in silence". This is the wisest thing, again, IMHO. It allows the "sinner" to rise above the guilt and condemnation. It also keeps others from putting him down by bringing this up again. It's the same way God forgives us and removes our sin so far away....."as far as the East is from the West" Now, please don't start piling on me as a "Duggar apologist" because that's not where I'm coming from.

twi - - It's dying from the root "up". There was a time when at least some of the people living or functioning at the root had at least some life in them, as there were many individuals involved in it. Most of those masses had no clue about the rottenness in the root. Eventually, however, the root was totally dead and the rest of the organization left. (A certain fig tree that I heard about was cursed and died the same way)

I'm sometimes surprised at how my point of view on most things has changed through the years and events of my life. I'm sure you will too, MRAP and already probably have in various ways. This is not meant to put you down, but, I don't think you or any "outsider" can understand us and what we are about by reading the words here. The things we wrote about took place over many months at least if not years. Additionally all kinds of strong emotions accompanied these events. You know, the words we've left here, the stories we've told.......all of this (or nearly all of it) was left quite some time ago. You can tell that just by looking at the dates! Moreover, nearly all of us shared the same feelings of fear, frustration, anger, rage, or whatever else that took place at that time. We all understand that in each other. We didn't have the same experience and, therefore, didn't have identical emotional issues, but we share enough to understand and identify with each other to the degree that we do. It's one of those things where - to borrow a phrase - "you had to be there". I hope you've gotten some of the answers you came looking for. If not, I encourage you to ask them again even if you have to rephrase them. But please start a new thread. We can't see the questions if they are buried here, and others who come looking won't find them either. -
That is merely an excuse. You were simply too lazy to scroll back at the time, perhaps. But having revisited the site to respond to other posters, you must have seen that krys' avatar is a floating pink butterfly...a distinctly feminine signature. That is, of course, unless you know any men who would willingly associate with such a symbol. You would have been better off to have said nothing than to have made this excuse. WordWolf is not sexist but it seems that you would rather not engage women (females).

MRAP: The persona with the frog avatar has a name. It is "Waysider". It wasbeyond rude for you to march in here and address him the way you did. "hey Kermit"...especially since you wanted something. You called him that several times. In future, please use your manners.

How long has Bernard been hiding, or running?
-
Me too. We might even experience a little "big bang". Please don't stay away too long....I worry.

Hi Rascal...That was some night when she was born! I may remember that event as long as I live just because it was so unusual. There aren't many who can say they were born in a chat room. I'm doing fairly well myself.

Turning Points - What Got You Involved and Committed?
krys replied to JavaJane's topic in About The Way
I can see that happening because things change over time. Where I lived at the Time I got in, things in my area were really good and most of us had little contact with anyone at the top. As time went on and upper leadership changed and some folks were nagged to death and they left. Eventually quite a few left around the P of t P..then more with the loyalty oath.... -
I remember there was a definition they put out themselves.I'm not sure I will quote it perfectly but it was something along the lines of *we are a research, teaching and fellowship ministry*. There were other qualifiers in there about people * availing themselves freely* and other statements that looked good. Does anyone have that definition?
