    Answer me this...

I agree with you Brother Speed. I believe the ball will roll while sliding. However, one would expect it to roll in the directiion of the low part of the incline, I suggest that it will slide down the incline, but the friction from the atmosphere would cause the ball to rotate around an axis at it's center - not at it's top or bottom. It will actually appear to spin around this axis while it slides down the incline. Furthermore the rate of spin and slide will both increase as the ball gets closer to the lower end of the incline. of course there is another possibility! IF the ball is the correct size to do so, and IF the incline is steep enough, the ball may not continue to move. Once is starts sliding, the force of the air at it's greatest girth may be large enough to overcome the gravitational force and hold the ball steady. IF the force of the air moving across the ball is strong enough, the ball my be forced to slide uphill.
  3. Happy fiftieth! It sounds old, but it really isn't. Sixty isn't even old, according to me. Now.....70.....that scares the petunias off my arse! Enjoy the day.
  4. You're right and I'm sorry. My memory switch must have slipped down to 30% without my realizing it!
  5. My guess is WordWolf that you figured it out! There's a lot of stuff here to fiddle with, and a lot of it doesn't work the way we think it will - so - we'll just have to learn how it does work. I'm sure you'll agree with me, that it's worth it to fiddle around with these new tools 'cuz the place is terriffikk and the results are worth it.
  6. You're always gonna "read regurgitated vomit", they will just change the stuff you start with, that's all.
  7. I think I can prove that the increase in promiscuity, etc. is due to the increase in the size of the population at large.
  8. Credit for this goes to Mike who also thought the font was small: Ron you should go to the bottom of this page....inside a blue-grey stripe is an underlined prase stating "Lo-Fi Version". If you click on that, your font will be so big you can stand 10 feet away from the computer and still read what's written! Thanks Mike!
  9. Mike: We do have ways to do some of those things it just takes a little exploration. Check around in your personal areas. Look along the sides of each screen there too.
  10. The WayGB is alive and well and they have more on their plate than just the persecution of GreaseSpotters. Generally they sniff around for anything that's amiss in their judgement. This can sound scary and intimidating to anybody who wants to get out of the organization, or wants to with hold any information. Not to worry! If you'd like some help in that regard, I'm always happy to help. Just send me a private message. I'm not alone in this....most of us would be happy to talk to you privately about that...either in a private message or as a private email. Please take advantage of us. That's one of the reasons we're here.
  11. ....(sigh).....men and their toys!...........
  12. My Dear Wonderful Pawtuckett-Sir! I appreciate every stinkin' finger-lickin' good thing you do for us. You house us in a wonderfully refurbished cafe that is fit for the good folks that we are. You encourage us to all get along. You've acquired some extra GreaseTechs to help share the load of the physical work. You let us do almost anything we want: corps guys and gals have their own area to play in if they want, we can play music games, celebrate the lives of loved ones who have fallen asleep, play silly picture games and debate political points full on or decaf. We can share pictures, get advice on computer stuff and even chew the fat on the open forum, or in the chat room, and we get to tell the world (or anybody who wants to know and can read) all about what we know about that evil organization - - Speaking Of Which - - that is the whole reason for starting this place in the first place. We all don't agree on a lot of stuff here, Sir, but we do agree on that - and so do you. On that issue we all stand together. You and us, we all post here but you never let us help you pay some of the bills. It's not that we don't want you around and so we wanna pay the bills. It's not that we wanna change something, and so if we pay something we think we have rights. It's just that we all want to stand together shoulder to shoulder in everything with you, and that includes money. We don't want to pay you. There is no salary anybody in his right mind would accept for the job you have willingly taken on for us year after year. We just want to contribute a little financially once in a while. If it would make you feel better, set up something with PayPal and only allow small donations. It's not so much about the money, it's about standing together in this thing. Will you please think about it before you deliver a carte blanche "NO" answer? Please?
  13. Cowgirl, I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I would hope that if you post some music to a thread you only let it run for a little while. I find it hard to concentrate on a thread when somebody posts music to it that I can't turn off after a short time. I still love you though!
  14. I'm not happy when that happens either. It distresses me too. I've seen a few dings from doors, but I think most of them are from the wagons that people just leave where ever until the wind picks them up and they charge off headed for my car.
  15. Thanks Grease-man Tech - now it works! I'm going to see how I like this - I may or may not keep it, so the butterfly is not up for dibs yet!
  16. I don't think a day will pass that we don't fondly think back and remember her. Maybe Pawtuckett can find a special place of honor for her even if it has to be smaller.
  17. My rose moves on my computer, but it isn't moving now. Howcome? It is supposed to open. Thanks for answering me.

    Welcome

You guys and all the moderators too did a great job on this. I love it here. And thanks for supporting us as we "tell it again" cuz there are still people who need to hear it!
  19. re: avatars If we have something that moves, will this board show that motion?

    Cool New Place

Thanks Pawtuckett and friends. This is soooo cool. And thanks for meeting us in the chat room. What a nice thing to do, send us a link in the old chatroom.....and yes, I do adore you all.
  21. Yes Garth....Happy Birthday. You are unique...yours is the last one celebrated here in the soon to be old haunt!
  22. that depends........ I had serious moments with each of mine...one girl and one boy. Each of them had me on the edge a time or two. Each had me in the Principal's office a time or two. My daughter earned the title "Queen of the Mouth" and son earned the title "Master of Mischief". Pick one!
  23. I totally agree with you, Ham!
