(snif) (snif) methinks my inner *itch (wink, wink) smells a troll

Huh? Did I read that correctly?

My coffee went up $1.41/can and is 4 oz lighter than it used to be.

I know one or two absolutely brilliant women! Most of their capabilities will never be tapped because they are moderately good looking. If they looked like Janet Reno, they'd have a chance. I wonder what it would really be like to be respected for my mind! Seriously...no pun intended. Seriously, before the accident when I was younger, I could compete among many intellectual gymnists and often hold my own. I can't do that anymore, but if I still had that abiliby, how would my life been different if I tapped my intellect in a laboratory rather than teaching. Tom Castildo and I had similar grades and we were lab partners for years. He could remember minutia and I was good at problem solving. So - - we had similar intellects, and almost identical knowledge having been schooled in the same small institution. I had better manual dexterity. We both applied for the same entry level position. He got the job and I didn't. Of course that was 40 years ago, but you get the idea.

and at the same time, we have to decide how hard we're willing to work and how much we feel like cleaning up afterwards

Clearly he was a man beloved by many. The legacy of his life doesn't end because he now sleeps; his family knows how, and will continue to live according to the way they were inspired by him. Please take my loving condolences to his family and friends.

Whew! We're good as long as wasway's batteries don't run down.

Well I am abundantly glad that you didn't decide to cower in a corner waiting for more cheese to drop down on you. Welcome and I'm glad you caught up.

oh my! "Doing it" had nothing to do with my wondering. Now you've got the idea. I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that we should live vicariously and describe that which cannot be described! I just wondered what everybody wondered!

I'm with you tcat! Brother Speed if you moved the clock back an hour it is another hour of sleep, you get to repeat the hour from three to four am. Unless you work nights, which means you don't get lunch!? You work from three to four twice. Put us all on Daylight Saving Time and leave us there! Or change us over to Standard time and leave us there.

Galen I wasn't really expecting anything. I was just wondering what men think about that they cannot possibly duplicate, such as how does it feel to get a mammogram. Now I understand why men hate shaving better than I did before. My father and husband never had that kind of beard so it was not so difficult. Now I know. Maybe every male hates shaving but does it anyway because they "have to". I also kind of envy my son in law, how he can toss his son up in the air. They laugh so hard. And it build's such trust in Anthony and his giggle is so commanding. I wish I could play with him like that just to hear him giggle...but I don't have that kind of brute strength!

Do any of you guys wonder anything about the gals? What is it like to get a permanent in your hair? shave the back of your legs where you can't see? wear a bra all day? get a mammogram? what does it feel like to put makeup on your face? Maybe LG was right that people wonder but just don't want to talk about it. That's ok with me, as I said, I was just wondering! dmiller - you're a hoot! "very gently" of course, and I wouldn't want you to be any different.

I wonder: Is there anyone besides me who wonders what it's really like to be the other gender? I wonder how many things are the same or different between us, not just sexual encounters. How do men who do it wear ties all day? Don't they feel like they're choking? What is it like to have the testosterone to drive a golf ball so much farther than I can, or to toss their 4 year old in the air? What does it feel like to sit with testicles? Are baseball players really that uncomfortable that they keep adjusting themselves or is that part of their complicated signing language? What predominates in a man's head when he perceives something like the gulf coast disaster up close and personal as opposed to how I might perceive it? Is anyone willing to discuss it or shall I remain the only old resident dingbat wonderer? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One or two indicated this might be an interesting discussion, so let's put it out here and see. I guess the sexual side might get in here too, but that wasn't the main idea of my post....the other things were. So - - if you're a guy, what do you wonder about us? And if you're not a guy, what do you wonder about them? This does not necessarily mean somebody has to anwer and fill in the blanks, but what's the use of wondering of nobody ever fills in any blanks.

I don't think we should be allowed forever to edit a post, but 2 hours is a bit on the short side. Rather than say "whenever we want" in the above poll, maybe 12 hours? I certainly don't want any poster changing his tune and then blaming it on us OLG's. yetch I'm not even sure I am an OLG?!

Perhaps, Bell. I don't know that I can say "yes" with a sense of certainty. I would bet money that the increasingly advanced use of the Internet has played a part, though.

The backdraft comes out of the front of the fan? Either way - - please go fart in a different room.

I know they call nj "the Garden State" and some of it is. But there's a whole part along the north eastern part that smells more like the nations' arm pit! Either way, arm pit or garden, we wave Happy Birthday dear friend.

I watched something similar last night, maybe it was the same thing. They finally isolated the critter harboring the SARS virus. It was a bat native to China. In China, live animals are brought to market and killed there when sold. All kinds of animals are brought together who ordinarily would never visit each other in the wild, at least never in such large numbers. It seems that birds will pick up almost any virus and many times not get sick from it. However, for some reason, the virus tends to mutate in the bird, and then, this mutated version is transmitted around to other animals including us. The only solution in China is to stop selling bats at open markets, but I don't think that's too likely. I heard there were about 2 million Tamiflu doses in the country. I don't know if that's the total, or if that's what's left over after emergency personel have their dose. The only way that quantity will increase significantly is if somebody puts enormous funding down to begin production; it's expensive to do, and it's not easy. If there is a stable culture of Spanish flu around, 10 years ago would have been a good time to start looking for a vaccine. Once you know what vaccine works, it also takes almost a year to produce sufficient quantities. I think bacteria and viruses are a greater threat to mankind than nuclear weapons in the long run!

If you would imagine a stream of water from a hose, I'm sure you could see that there could be enough pressure there to force the ball up hill. If enough draft of air existed, why would it not do the same thing? And no, I expected the ball to spin on an axis as if the axis was E and W on its circumference, not N and S at the poles. I have no problem if you don't like how I think. But the MJ comment was way out of line. ;) <_<
-
I don't think so Mike. In your scenario the ball would rotate around a perpendicular axis, in mine it would be a horizontal axis (with respect to the incline)

mmmmuuuwwaahhhhh poooooooooooffffff I hope you caught the kiss I just sent off. Happy Birthday.
