Maybe she'll agree to let you try a tiny dose of zocor. I think they still make that in 5 mg doses. For me, without zocor I'd be long gone I think. My grandmother died at 51 of her third major stroke. (I was not quite 3) My family is not known for great blood vessels etc. Regular exersize will take it down too. I exercised and dieted so that I lost 12 pounds that at the time I really didn't need to lose and the numbers still didn't move....so I took the zocor...numbers were better than perfect. Do your best, and see what happens. By the way, the bowl of oatmeal thing every morning is really true - - it does help lower cholesterol.

For my personal self, I'd never go into debt for a car. However that doesn't mean I would condemn you for doing it. One of the worst things twi did about this debt policy was require obedience before all the learning had been done. I believe that banning students from classes if they were in debt was stupid.

Of course I remember: And it was rarely or ever asked in private. It was usually posed in a public setting where you had to show your devotion etc. Once I was asked that question in public, and I couldn't do it....so I stammered.....tc kept pushing for an answer so I said "no"! Boy was his nose out of joint. I told him I couldn't do it because my presence was required elsewhere doing something else and I took a whole lot of flak for that....but it stuck.\ I was grilled about it later too!

I agree with laleo (et al). A child of a neighbor of mine went to a summer day camp via this kind of bus thing. I think it's a neat thing if some church has the ability and desire to do such a thing as outreach. They checked it out first and even rode with their son a time or two. I know we live in perilous times and I'm not diminishing that. But - that shouldn't cause us to put the kibosh on everything that reaches us or our kids in a way we didn't think of. Since it appears to be a bona fide project in the community, if you called the police, they would have told you that it was such. Being careful and using wisdom is a beautiful thing, but if you are too cautious you can back yourself into a corner where you cut yourself off from some experiences that could be enlightening, if not rich and joyful. I don't want to live backed into a corner. "macaroni pictures" - - oh pond - - I remember those. My kids were so excited to bring those home...spray painted and sparkled they were too!

I don't like it one bit! It hasn't been cold enough to kill off the mold spores and other stuff - - so I think we'll have lots of spring and summer illnesses. Generally - - it takes 3 consecutive days of temps below freezing...totally below freezing.....before that stuff dies off and we haven't even had that yet. I'd like to see a little white stuff too!

I don't mind shaving him and paying part of the beer guinness tab - - but I'm NOT paying his cable bill. Get a splitter and toss him part of yours!

Dateline had a 2 hour special about internet underage sex. It was an excellent show. MSNBC will air it on Cable Feb 4. I would check it out. They set up a sting, of course. They arrested 50 people in 4 days. That will tell you something about the prevalence of this kind of thing. The show they did was in California, however.

The more crowded the living conditions, the earlier the sexual encounters of teens. But sexual encounters of these kids does not in any way mean affection. Some of them are so hungry for it, they will take it in any form it seems to present itself in.

This is what happens when folks in those countries answer those "Work From Home" ads.

It takes a devil spirit to murder?
krys replied to CoolWaters's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
I voted "none of the above" because of the wording of your poll, which you can't change. I don't think any of those require a devil spirit, although spirits could be present. They are all "devilish" and they are all works of the devil but that doesn't mean a devil spirit has to perform them. -
Five Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Six Hundred Little Pieces

I remember the billboard! I'm glad it helped someone. -
That was fun! (There is a part of me that wishes we could all retain that simple innocence of our youth.)

I think like CM. I think it is too much to be confined to words only. Also, I'm not convinced that everything in that "book" is either His will or His word.

Is there no statute of limitations on rape? I thought there was. I voted probation because "ignore it" wasn't an option. I had to think about it a while, though, before I voted. Here is why I voted how I did: There is no information about a police report having been made at the time. If there was no report it is possible that it wasn't as significant as it now appears. (I'm thinking both were drinking a lot and she may have thought so at that time) I'm also thinking that there is no reason for Beebe to write to her and try to make amends unless he is seriously working a 12 step program - which, if he is....it's not to excuse him for his previous actions, but to acknowledge what he's doing now. I do acknowledge that Liz Seccuro may have suffered serious harm and I'm sorry for that, but I don't see how any of the jail terms would address that now. BUT we have very little information here, we'd need to see all the evidence that a trial would bring before a just verdict could come.

I'm enjoying it as well.

I was already out by the time WayDale was up. Come to think about it, I missed my coveted 20 year recognition by 3 months. I was out a couple of weeks when someone sent me a link to Way Out, the first anti-twi sites I had seen. I probably could have learned more at that time if I had a better attitude, but I was so disgusted, I just read parts of it and left, not caring to pursue more anti-way stuff because it was still quite painful for me. Little did I know..... I don't remember exactly how I came across WayDale...but once there, you couldn't pry me away from the computer for days at a time. Just knowing that so many others were seeing the same thing I was seeing was healing in and of itself. It wasn't the BIG things that made headlines that helped me as much, as the little things, the humana which convinced me that I was "OK" after all, that this was an external problem, not an internal one. And the rest, as they say, is history.

What I wouldn't give for one of wasway's avatars 'full size' - - well not really that big.....just big enough to frame somewhere

How can you be that funny this early in the morning!

Thanks for the tip Jim. Very funny Satori!

I'm sorry - one of these days, I'll get mastery over all those fancy buttons! Thanks WW

It is at the very beginning page of this website. There are 2 lists of documents at the left. The top list is GreaseSpot and the bottom half is Waydale. This list is in the top GreaseSpot section, under "Editorials". It would be a good idea to bookmark this, you will probably want to refer to it often. I think it's too much to take in all at once and appreciate. At least it was for me. here it is

Thank you socks.

Some people might take it as the mark of the beast, but I think it's just as Galen suggested. Where are all the sharp-shooters when you want them?

jkb: apology accepted, thank you. I read and swallowed whole about 6 months of your hard in about 15 minutes - no wonder I couldn't digest it. Now that I understand you better, I appreciate your motive and will eventually understand what you're presenting. I will absolutely take your suggestion and chew on it a little at a time. I underand and agree CM; we even made a little statue of our Simon, didn't we.

You're all right as far as I'm concerned. Satori your idea of cleanliness lessons and laws is great. Teeth into the laws already existing would be a start. Spitting on the subway is against the law...but nobody ever enforces it! When I was young, we had health classes in school where these kinds of things were routinely taught - - but I knew most of it from my home life anyway. We also had routine inspection in the morning...we had to show the teachers out hands (to make sure they were clean) and she checked us over for general cleanliness (just a formality in my neighborhood but it was a requirement) and we all had to show a handkerchief OR a package of tissues. Twice a year we were checked for head lice. There is a balance in here somewhere I think - but I'd be hard pressed to find it all the time. *** Do get your children immunized against chicken pox. It's nasty to get it...but it also stays permanently in your system and if it gets reactivated...the result is shingles...a most unpleasant disease of mid-later life.
