Your dawg must be deaf! (JK) Seriously - - jammin' is not the same as rap!

I know a few biologists who maintain that rhythm and certain notes when played disquiet many animals. In fact more than one group of elephants was sent almost rampaging when sub-sonic notes were sent through the ground at unnatural beats. (unnatural beats were defined as interfering with their heart rhythm. I'll go looking.

You guys crack me up. The shame of my youth was that I was always the good one! (sigh)

my first car was a '39 buick - - the first year Buick built an automatic transmission. I bought it in '61...straight 8 - - wood dashboard....flower holders in the rear.....great car....lasted 7 months and the transmission died. I didn't have the funds to repair it. So my next car was a '49 ford....drove that thing from '62 - 81 when the doors would no longer stay closed!

I think it's true to character. They are letting the "candidate" know that they no longer have to think for themselves, even for their snacks. "Leadership" has it covered...just do what we tell you to do...no thinking required.

Just for the record, in my response above, I was kidding. Coaches, teachers and school principals have all done strange things to encourage every worthwhile endeavor you'd care to mention. One elementary principal who made the local town tabloid here wore a red wig for an entire day. He promised he would if each class met their reading quota. They delivered...and so did he. I think it builds comeraderie and kids realize that when a teacher or some other person in their educational vista does something like this, they really care about the project. Most students here have 2 parent families, but for those students who need it every little bit helps.

I can see a man shaving his legs rather than his head for many reasons. If it's his legs, nobody will know whom he doesn't want to know. It stay's private in the adult world. If you want to look at it in an ugly way - - realize that at the heart of this is a bribe. IF you do such and such.....THEN I will do this and that. What is wrong with a 7 year old, that she will enjoy watching a man in a dress who has shaved his legs! HHmmmmmm

HAP: You could do the same thing here as you do with software updates. You could download it while sleeping and listen later. It's not interactive. Besides, you might like to keep a copy of the program.

Indeed....and light cycles in plants even determine flowering time. In people, it's been shown that certain meds work better when given at nite...for example, some cholestrol lowering drugs work best when taken at night because that is when the liver processes that stuff...while we sleep.

Fascinating Herb! Definitely worth further investigation. There are many lifestyle changes which have impacts too, such as exercise...quantity and type. I would also be interested to see what, if any impact our change in diurnal rhythm by means of light bulbs etc may have on the body as a whole.

No Lestoil? Now how am I going to get auto grease and oil out of a certain hobbiest's clothing?

If that happened in the area where I used to work, it would make me very nervous. When a person displays a flag on a house, or on one's person, or on a window, it's a statement of pride in one's heritage and that's a good thing. But a flag on a pole connotes Territorial associations. If that house was a Mexican Embassy, I would expect the Mexican flag to be there, otherwise I don't think it belongs. If it happened near here, I believe it would be a signal of gang territory In this neck of the woods, I would not dismiss that lightly.

There is no magic in math. I couldn't find the factors like George did, but I was surprised that I got the result in a relatively few moves. You have mathematically inclined way of thinking George - - you see patterns in things easily. I admire that.

What would bring you the most satisfaction from posting here?

Me too. I post for the same 3 folks WordWolf does. I think Raf is right on. I don't always agree with graucho, but this time I do. Pretty much I agree with all of the rest of you too. What would make me happy is that we could all be here celebrationg the 10th Anniversary of twi's demise and the incarceration of some of its head honchos.....but I don't know if Paw would keep the site open that long. It would be really cool to celebrate those events with my friends and family here whom I love and some of whom love me. -
Oh goodie! or is it Goody???

This is Wicked Cool! There's gonna be great information...great learning...AND most of us can make a cd out of it (if we get permission) which means that nobody really needs a computer to hear it! I don't think it will make as much money as satellite radio, though. The Interviewer dropped his voice a few times near the end of sentences and it was a bit hard for me to understand what was said. But the Interviewer's voice is very easy to listen to and has a sense of sophisticated appeal.

Still snowing here....ever so gently, though. Very tiny flakes. We measure 21" in the driveway, although that may or not be what fell. A little drifting but not much. It looks soooo pretty.

Here in North Jersey, I think we have about 12 " but it's hard to tell when it's snowing sideways. My fire hydrant is half covered but the 4' fence looks like it's half buried but I can't believe that.In most of my windows there's a 2" "drift" in the corner and snow stuck in the screens. Pictures will follow if I can take any worthwhile. I have heard thunder. The forecast suggests we may have an additional 5 - 8" before all is said and done. What's it like in your neck of the woods?

I second Chas exhortation to seek a professional opinion. Yes, it's true that things other than your root canal can be the cause; but as long as you don't get a proper diagnosis and treatment, you're going to remain dizzy. That's no way to live, especially if you have to drive...or use a sharp knife to slice onions for that matter.

Maybe they could put their name on it. It's not called a Ford motor car for nothing; neither is a Webber grill! Get an appropriate legal advice. Who had it first often applies here.

Now that I think back on that project, there were, indeed, tangible results! Look what we did! We were really an unorganized group of individuals. Very few of us personally knew anybody else. We had a common bond - and that was to let others know there was no such thing as "GreaseSpots by Midnight". We left and we knew it could be done and we made a statement to that effect right in front of the organization's "Homeland". That's pretty powerful now that I look back on it. We put a little chink in the armor and rattled a few cages, and that was no small feat. I think it had lasting results.
