    Semantics

It isn't necessarily twi folk who get down and dirty like this, lots of us are very into comparing things in a detailed manner....some by personality and some by training.
  2. In case anyone wants a timer program I found one I love. It's called NeverForget. You can post appointments for any month in the year, and set a reminder so you don't forget somebody' birthday. Or you can use it daily....when you're engrossed in something and forget to watch the clock it will remind you. It also will keep track of time you work on something too. There is no fee for trial, but a small one if you purchace the program. NeverForget
  3. Yepper that's right! It had to do with "fellowshipping" - "sharing fully". We weren't supposed to be sharing fully with those from outside the household (but now I can't remember why). So if you couldn't get your neighborhood or work buddies to take the Class, you couldn't share fully with them. Then, when we gave up our outside friends - we would do things together - maybe a couple of families or couples together. But then, paranoia set in, and if you were spending time with someone else and it wasn't twig time, people wanted to know why. When you said you were friends with so and so....you were told that we weren't supposed to have any preferences when it came to the household, so they started monitoring things like this. There was one other family in our twig with children about the ages of ours, so if we got together there was usually nothing said....if was for the kids, ya know! One thing at a time, and they got their greasy hands all over your life and there was no where to go until you realized how much they controlled you. But often the control was subtle enough that some people didn't realize they were being controlled! Today, I can't imagine what I ever saw in them.....but don't we all!

    Cute PDF writer

Why would we want to convert files to pdf's....to keep someone from "stealing" our work? Any other reason?
  5. Well............IMHO Claudet would be very hard to beat! But you're right about vp setting standards for us.
  6. I'm not sure we're all talking about the same thing when we use the term "friend". Maybe we should have an extra category in here so that we have close friends - friends - acquaintances. We all have many that we might call friends instead of acquaintances, but very few we are really very tightly connected with. Maybe that's where our different perspectives come from.

    Called Back

I'm going to save any comments on the war for the political forum where it probably belongs. But I do want to thank you for being willing to serve our country when needed. My family and I thank you. I wish there were a lot more people like yourself willing to put themselves in positions of service, in this case - it is military experience that's needed. I wish more would get ingo other kinds of service as well. I learned a lot while I was able to do it, and I hope to get back into it again. I was better for having done it. I hope you stay out of harm's way and can pop in now and then to the café. I know all of us certainly wish you the best!

    Rubbing Alchohol

That's a whole lot better, thanks Dave! That's probably better than it would be in pink!
  9. Right you are STL, indeed!
  10. When that car cuts you off you'd better be in control of your emotions so you can figure out an escape route - otherwise you'll be paralyzed with fear and get smashed! It's not wrong to control your emotions; that's why we don't accept tantrums from toddlers! But suppressing them is a horse of a different color! People with suppressed emotions are easily lead with few complaints. They are also prone heart disease and stomach problems and high blood pressure. ...And who knows what kinds of mental and emotional difficulties we're all escaping from!

    Rubbing Alchohol

Wouldn't it be cool to marry that flex-fueled with the "hybrid" and have sun power too!? That way, if I lived in sunny spots, I could use maybe one tank of fuel per year! That would make me put on my happy face! Galen you're right - it is very ugly - - I wonder if it would look better in pink?

    Rubbing Alchohol

Yepper you do! I found out exactly how far behind the times I was after Galen's excellent post. But - - what can you expect from an old lady in Joisey!

Hey! Don't be sorry Galen. I learned something. I'm glad they've gotten that far too! What I wrote was all I knew so I'm glad to now be more up to date! :)

    Rubbing Alchohol

In South America some corn is grown for the purpose of fermentation into alcohol to be mixed with gasoline. I believe it was Brazil, but I could be wrong about that.

    Rubbing Alchohol

Maybe he was trying to make "gasohol" in his tank. It makes the gasoline go farther - sort of stretching the gas mileage. Some foreign countries use it exclusively to save on petroleum costs.
  17. I hope this is the best ever!
  18. Okay! I surrender! I will lighten up. I guess I've been too serious lately.
  19. I may be a wet blanket, but I don't think this is a funny photo. It looks to me like a sniper and his spotter doing all they can to make the kill. I would call it "Commitment" or "Cooperation". These guys don't care what they look like, as long as they get the job done - - and that's ALL they care about.
  20. Thanks everybody! It was a fun day. I appreciate all the goodies and good wishes. ((((( to all ))))) krys

    (In)famous RumRunner

Well Evan, I think he should opt for a light weight hollow one, so when I beat him over the head with it for not getting back to me and telling me he was alright - - it won't hurt quite as much. ...and yes...you may add an appropriate word here or there..... NOT like twi requires checking back - this would at least have put my mind at ease.......sigh

    (In)famous RumRunner

Last nite he and I spent a few minutes on IM. Things were fine. A couple of hours later he IM'd me back and said things were going south quickly and if things didn't turn around last nite or this morning he was going back in (the hospital). I haven't been able to raise him since and I don't know what's wrong. Perhaps it's a good idea to start praying for him again.

    The Cone of Raf ~~~

Happy Birthday! Here's hoping someday you get to walk on the moon on your birthday!
  24. Somebody needs to call the Dog Whisperer.
  25. Another example of beating us to death with Scripture waiting (hoping) we'd fall flat on our face so they could take yet another piece out of us.....until there was not enough left to care about.
