    Challenge: What is this?

That's what happens when you don't ground your computer!
  2. Maybe we should relegate such stuff to the Soap Opera -- and then we should train ourselves to go down there and look! [it's just an idea]

    End of the Road

I can only speak for myself, but I have been in this place a time or two. Until I made up my own mind either to look for help - or to grab onto some offer - - my situation was hopeless.

    Texas BBQ

I can't go either - - sick! Can't get clearance to fly. If I say " OOhhhh POOO" can you read between the lines to see what I really feel?
  5. He's beautiful! Congratulations. Thanks for the foto.
  6. There are sooooo many things rising to the surface and fomenting in my mind....and all of them are making me giggle. But I will retain my decorum lest my levity should distract any from the faith. I shall keep the salted committment of my burgeoning lock box that the Ministry be not blamed.
  7. You're absolutely right T-bone about the context of the words framing the intent of the words spoken. I remember when my father used to tell me he was "going to clean my clock" it had nothing to do with a dust cloth or the time.
  8. Things like this make me sick especially in cases of adoption.

    Eddie and me

Who gets the biggest kick out of this....you or Eddie; but at lease we know you can do fractions now. How much fun is that! God bless you Oenophile!
  11. available old man(but that's not distinctly way tho') obey absent Christ
  12. In Joisey - customer service comes to you............over the phone.........and the telemarketers aren't always real people. I get at least one call a day from a pre-recorded message that you can't talk back to. Some companies don't want us to be nasty with their telemarketers - so what they do - - is ring up our phones...and unless you have your caller ID screen projected on your eyeglasses, you run to the phone because when people call here it's usually (well at least it used to be) somebody "important" like family. So you stop what you're doing and pick up the phone and the customer services the company this way. Now - I know I brought this all on myself because a few places on the Internet required my phone number, or, I deemed it wise to provide it in a few places and I have no control over who sells it to whom. I understand one can now rent phone lists! Isn't that convenient. And, yes, in case you're wondering - I did call that number to have my phone removed from the list. But I get these calls anyway, because it doesn't matter anymore who breaks the law - when you get a recorded call you can't complain because you don't know who called you. It's just the way we live today - - in Joisey.
  13. But then Templelady, if he had used those venues he'd have lost an opportunity to remind us of our cliquishness, he couldn't have dissed the mods and he'd have missed an opportunity to publically insult Belle, now wouldn't he.
  14. The way I heard it was that you don't get to the top of your class ( boxing, music, art, etc) without spirit. It was on a teaching tape and I remember where I was in the car when I heard it. I was on the Fairlawn Ave Bridge between rt 20 and FairLawn ave. And that heredity plays a part. Holy spirit can bring out the best in you too. more and more I see that nothing...no thing...nada...zip...zilch....is what it seems to be. took me long enough doncha think?
  15. And so we see again one of the famous "bottom lines". "...that the ministry be not blamed..." And they told *us* it was *grace*!

    Have you seen these?

I have used 5 gal solar showers both at sea and in the woods - or desert as it was. Once you learn how to do it, one can take a perfectly satisfying shower with it and have water left over.that included hair washing) I couldn't see myself in something that small, but I could easily see myself in a modest sized self contained RV just travelling along. If I find someplace I really like, I'd stay a while. I really could do that. (sigh)

That's my problem Linda - - more courage than brains. In my younger daze - I'd do that in a heart beat (if I didn't have papers to grade). But then - -mebbe I'd toss 'em all in there and take off for the mountains or the beach and get them done in half the time with no interruptions...... The Pensy-Dutch have a saying "We grow too soon olt - and too late schmartt" - ain't it the truth.

    kindness

Kindness??? (giggles) I was much too old to be a hippy but I really envied them. Even so - I acquired the nick name "Earth Mother". . . . . . . . . . maybe I should not have said that
  19. from socks: Would you mind sharing that file - sounds useful and entertaining to boot!
  20. This was no ordinary cult. It was singularly and particularly nasty. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing! The right hand operated in a blind spot under the table in the dark so that even your left hand couldn't find it it looked! A "lock box" is a beautiful thing if it's governed by love - but it's likely that the first time you learned of it was to hide some ungodly sin or maybe just an "inconvenient" bit of information. It was an evil maze and there were blind spots where you could be trapped without understanding how you got there and if you asked about a "simple" question concerning something that seemed weird or untoward, your words were turned around on you so that you were made to feel as if you committed some heinous act. God forgive me for taking any part in any of it at all. At times like these when I really get a glimpse of it's evil I am so ashamed that I was ever even associated with it that my guts rebel!

That does look kind of cute. I admire your venturous spirit.
  22. It sounds like a religion in and of itself! Scary. I also must say I have very little knowledge about this except what is written on that site and what I've read from other posters...but I think that's enough.
  23. I'm the closest thing to "geek" in these matters who posts here so I will try to explain myself better. There are more neurons aka nerves between the 2 parts of the brains in women because that's the way they are built. They come from the "factory" like that - they don't learn it. Because there is more communication women are much better able to moderate and facilitate serious multitasking. No bragging - what follows is an example (which now after proof reading, I find humorous): While in the kitchen with my 11 month old on my hip(whose favorite thing was playing with the collar on my shirt with one hand and reaching for whatever he saw that looked interesting with the other) I would hear the phone ring. As I was in those days almost a perpetual motion machine, I was able to pick it up before the 4th ring while pouring juice into his TommyTippy (lid was already off - pour stuff in and screw lid on tightly), turn off faucet and close the refrigerator door while loosely supervising our daughter (not quite 4) who was playing house under the sink (slamming cabinet doors and clanging pots in there) and hearing AND registering the dryer (which was in the cellar) buzz the end of it's cycle. Pick up the phone (usually before the 4th ring) and find sweet husband calling to tell me he missed the train, please pick him up at the later time - - acknowledge same with civil tongue in my head and blow kiss into phone and hang it up on the way to place 11 month old with his juice cup in hand in his high chair for his supper. Did I tell you that our meal was well underway in the cooking stage?
