I wonder how they will get groceries! I hope they do all their banking electronically! They can't pay a bill.

Socks - - I think your "hhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" is kinda light. We use that too much for other things, such things that are not unpleasant or don't show bad plays, such as one would have wanted to boo if booing was still allowed. How about we just give them the ole RRAASPBEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRIESSSSSSSSSS? That should work. Especially if we make them good and wet with lots of spit on our tongues and we wet our lips first. Maybe it wont be as loud - - but it would get the point across.

David - the animals won't even be able to live in a Zoo - they will only have a Zo!!!

Excathy - - I would have said "sloopy". But that was a cat that Rod McKuen (sp) wrote and sang about.

I know that many of our ladies have had to endure spending some time in a woman's shelter because of the bad behavior of somem of their husbands. It has been one of my favorite charities, therefore, for quite some time. It's a place that I know needs funding and other things, and I generally feel that since there is very little distance between me and them, that what I give to them finds its way to some woman who really needs it and can benifit from it. Therefore, please read the following - - and I hope you'll treat this like the Breast Cancer Site for women, who keep track daily, and supply a free mammogram to woman who have no insurance and cannot afford it. really is legit, see www.snopes.com if you are unsure... FW: easy way to help women in shelters: So simple! Hello friends: You probably never thought of this, but women's shelters in the U.S. go through thousands of tampons and pads monthly. Assistance agencies generally help with expenses of "everyday" necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, but one of the most BASIC needs is overlooked - feminine hygiene products. (Who is at the helm of the funding assistance agencies!?) Seventh Generation, a green paper products and cleaning products company, has a do-good attitude and will donate a box of sanitary products to a women's shelter in your chosen state - just for clicking the link. Talk about easy (literally takes less than 1 minute and they ask nothing of you). And, yes, it is Legitimate! http://www.tampontification.com/donate.php Thanks for helping out. Please pass this on. There is no reason to boo a nose-picker! Maybe there should be rules about what gets done with the retrieved materials, but no boo-ing the participant!
-
Al I was thinking along the same lines as Linda Z. Booing a team mate of the visiting team is really uncalled for. And nobody in these games should ever boo a Ref! That's extremely bad taste Actually, Al, my surgeon would have to be a pro, and if he screwed up, he wouldn't get boo'd - - he'd get sued!
-
Well Zshot - - do you want that in inches or centimeters?
-
This is the way I think of it: If I have to pay for it, I can boo if I want to. If I don't have to pay for it - I should refrain from booing! (we don't pay for little league games and other school sports events )

The best part was the trip home.

Moonglow and Theme from "Picnic" On a picnic morning, Without a warning, I looked at you, And somehow I knew . . . It must have been Moonglow, Way up in the blue, It must have been Moonglow, That led me straight to you . . . I still hear you sayin' Dear heart hold me fast, And I start in prayin' Oh Lord, please let this last, We . . . seem to float right through the air, Heavenly songs seem to come from everywhere, An' now when there's Moonglow, Way up in the blue, I always remember, That Moonglow gave me you . . . You and I in the sunshine, We strolled the fields and far, Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere, And now when there's Moonglow Way up in the blue, I always remember, That Moonglow gave me you, That Moonglow gave me you, That Moonglow gave me you . . .

He was born the very same day as Abraham Lincoln! It was a Sunday.

I geet what you're saying Abi, I totally get it. Being disabled myself, and requiring many maintenence meds, I get it. Now that I'm on Medicare it's a bit better, but if we didn't have some family help we'd be in the soup...and boiled away. That's one of the reasons I suggested re-evaluating the stipends.

I'm really interested in hearing the introduction, at least, about what you have to say. I wouldn't presume to know it all. But, although this is a public board, we are kinda used to doing things a certain way here, and we are kinda used to one another. When one says We can start by praying for Exie, guess she isn't blessed........Oh well............ it makes my feathers ruffle. You haven't been here for all these years and watch her life start out so low she had to reach up to touch bottom - and see her get to where she is today! You have absolutely no idea what that lady endured to get to where she is now. There are others who also come to mind has having "special trials" but that's immaterial now. If you want us to listen, present your statements. Most of us will give it a look-see and try to understand your point of view. But mocking one of our long standing citizens will get you know where. You didn't considering it "mocking" - I know that. But we who know her, and others like her, don't take kindly to anything that even looks like a put-down to one of God's most bashed around people. I don't believe you know her story, and I'm not going to go through it now. I'm asking you to hold all the old time members here in the same high regard we hold each other in. I think that's fair.

I think it's easier to discuss one thing at a time, so I think for the moment we should take unemployment off the table in this discussion. When we work, we all pay into it and it is a kind of insurance. If you had a legitimate claim on any other kind of insurance you would put in the claim, right? And if you had more than 2 incidents where you were rightfully due a claim, you wouldn't decline it, would you? Today's job market leaves some workers very insecure so I would hesitate to limit unemployment insurance to two times and you're out. And I wouldn't put a limit of 6 months on it either in all areas of the country. Some areas just don't have jobs available for anybody. I think one of the first things we should do is review the current laws in view of today's current standards. What are the average rental costs, food costs, etc. I think some of these laws may be archaic and need changing. All these laws pertain to the state one lives in, so a stipend in AK would need to be larger than one in TX, for example.

Thank you Rocky for the grammar lesson. I'm glad somebody took me seriously last week when I brought it up. If anybody gets his nose out of joint when Rocky, or some other knowledgeable person corrects your grammar, please remember it's not against you, but some of us need to improve, and a couple of us requested help, so please don't take it personally because that's not the way it is intended. Thanks Rocky. rock on

I won't use black ink because anybody can run it through a copy machine and it looks authentic. I had too many kids copy passes or other stuff - - and I got ripped for it until I found out the old "black copies well trick" - - so it's blue or pencil or any other color. Red copies just like black - so I avoid that too. If high school kids can figure that out - - who knows what some other crooks have in store for me if I'm not careful - - but you can think I'm too serious if you like.....

I would be interested in a study where the term "blood" refers to heredity. I imagene that would be quite revealing too.
-
I agree with everything you've all said. I guess I was speaking to the arguement that this place, the GSCafe is too clicky! I didn't want to add fuel to that arguement.
-
I love it too! And the new tag line is one of the bet things about these new digs! Well done!
-
I'm glad you brought that up excie! And I'm going to be serious for a moment here. I'm not alwways so sure I want everybody knowing my friends, because if we agree on a thread about something, people may say we're just saying that because we're "friends" doncha know.... Now friends will frequently think alike, but not always - so I'm not sure if I should include some people on my friends list. Then there are others whom I greatly admire, yet I don't think we consider each other friends! But you're always my friend exie...mwah
