  1. WG....I'd like to see you preseent this in the prayer forum.
  2. In my view, she is guilty of neglect! Pure and simple. I can understand not having funds for this. But not being willing to sign him up for Medicaid, which would restore his dental health and also keep him on the right path in that regard. There are some diseases that may show early cavities but it's more likely they are "hard luck cavities". My son had plenty of them..they were caused by a partial malformation of his molar teeth. Was there sufficient dietary calcium and other minerals during pregnancy? how about now? If he were my grandson, I would not warn her, I'd just call children's services - - she's had all the warnings she needs from you. In addition it disturbs me greatly that this has happened because I'll bet much of the discussion has taken place within earshot of the child. What must he be thinking? I'm not "worth"----? And when he finally does to to a dentist his experiences are likely to be painful. In answer to your other question - - it's not common, but some children do develop cavities in these teeth. Some dentists fill everything. Some don't fill small cavities if it's likely the tooth will be lost soon. My son had 1 hard luck cavity at his first dental visit. That was filled then. He was treated with fluoride (in the tray) in the office at his regular visits. There was a sealant available at that time (and I imagine it still is) but most children don't need it, and it's pretty expensive. I made an appointment to have that applied as well. I say all this just to let you know that there are so many things which can be done to help this youngster's dental health, that if no-or very low cost treatment is not accepted, it is the same thing as neglect and is inexcusable.

    IT'S OFFICIAL

I am veery happy for you! Congratulations!!!
  4. I carefully read one of the links Mrs B supplied; specifically the one about brain development. I don't know if vaccinations directly cause autism but in some cases it seems there is a correlation. This connection, if it exists, could be minimized or eliminated if the injections were given at a later point in the child's life when the brain had more completely formed. Isn't there some stipulation about exemption Fromm these inoculations on "religious grounds"? Schools must make exceptions in those cases.

    Lasik Eye Surgery

I have never been able to lift my head off the pillow and read the clock correctly. I would kill (not really) to be able to do that. Maybe after my cataracts are done, I'll have the surgery. I've been wearing bifocals since I was 35 and trifocals since 47. Actually I prefer the varilux, where there are no lines, you just get used to where to focus depending on what you want to see. Bumpy, you seem so definitely negative about it. Would you want to share a bit about why?
  6. yes please - here I am, over here..... <-------------- Do you have something in pink? Island sunsets are pink - how about some of them!
  7. It was fun to see the pictures. Thanks for letting us have a look.
  8. I think may be there were just too many banging on the site at one time last nite - - the site is working now.eeewwwwww talk about stuffy!!!!!
  9. Holy cow! What an accomplishment! Congratulations!!!
  10. I never had any problem with my hubby making the final decision until he dicided I had no input at all! Let's face it folks, when the washer breaks down and can't be repaired, who uses it more??? who knows what to look for according to the family's needs? If the wife said I want this, and this, and so on....these items add up. Perhaps there isn't that amount of money for that....so the husband and wife discuss what's important to stay in the budget. NO PROBLEM But when the men walked all over us, many of us lost our enthusiasm for lots of things...not just twi.
  11. Shame on you Raf! It's 9:30 on your wedding nite and you have nothing more pressing to do than check in here???
  12. A friend let me borrow her shower soap (bottle) and I used my own shampoo one ROA. The soap worked well enough - as well as anything I ever used. My skin felt a little better because I think it rinsed better in that hard water. I did read the label and it seems to be quite mild. Perhaps I should get some and also the shampoo. Since I'm getting older and I need to take a few meds which aren't exactly kind - maybe this would keep me from having such terribly dry skin. ??
  13. Such a shame! We were so haughty we didn't care who we hurt, did we!

    police officers

In my neighborhood when our children were that age, if one of my children said that to a policeman they(my kids) would be doomed! The policeman would feel that the kids were being defiant. I like that idea TL, but I would have my kids add "my mother (or father) told me....." This would take the defiance aspect out of the picture and let the policeman know the kids were obeying their parents. Of course, every neighborhood is different, but the policemen in my area were not good examples of being fair to teenagers and young people. One in particular stopped a brand new driver under an overpass and had him gun his engine....and then gave the young man a ticket for a faulty exhaust system.

My response from Googlism...."Sorry, Google doesn't know enough about _______ ______ yet! Maybe I really am successful at keeping a low profile!
  16. B for me. I forgot a lot of stuff - it's been a long time. I hang out on the dial where Rocky does. If you know where to look, there's lots of good stuff on TV. I enjoy many of the history channels too. I hated history in school, but now I like seeing how the pieces fit together.
  17. Waysider is right about time. After 25 years all of a sudden you turn around and it's 43! I'm sorry I don't remember your lady's first name - please remind me. Enjoy yourselves this week and during the ceremony - have fun with each of the traditions you decided to follow. As long as you hold each other highly in your hearts, you'll be fine. Accept my congratulations and my best wishes for a long prosperous life together!
  18. How about a water balloon toss - - or an egg toss? - - 3-legged races? - - wheelbarrow races...

    EFT FREE FREE FREE...

If it isn't too personal, would you mind sharing what it helped you with 2life? I know that some things really are helped by acupuncture, and this looks similar to that. If it's too personal, just forget it.

    Your Avitar...

You guys are a real blessing to me! (yeah, I know the terminology.....) I had no idea the effect that the butterfly had on you. And your words warmed me and made me feel loved....and that's good, cuz I love you all too. Chaz, what a bunch of wonderful places you found. I found a pink butterfly who had a few buddies with her - but I'll have to go back and check around again. Thanks Chaz for all your snooping and surfing for me. We'll see how this plays out. Thanks everybody.

    The Privileged Planet

Good points made here about the film. I'd like to add two others: We look at what is now and incorrectly believe that's all there is! I doubt that's the case; there's probably more planetary systems out there that we will find as our technology increases and we can either see farther, or can differentiate between all of the things we see now. And when we look at our universe and consider it's size, we forget that it is always changing. Star cycles have been described, for example. We know our planet has undergone numerous changes over it's lifetime and for most of its existence it was also uninhabitable. How can we tell which of the "uninhabitable" planets which we see now really are what we see. We see things tonite as they were thousands of years ago (in some cases) because that's how long it takes for light to get here to show us. Who knows what, if anything has happened to any of those planetary bodies during that time to increase or decrease the probability of finding life there. Such fascinating ideas that both intrigue and fascinate us. And we use the phrase "life as we know it" - would we be able to recognize something living if it wasn't "as we know it". Thanks cman for that link. You'd better believe I'm going to play around with that one!
  23. Oh Chas you speak truth!!! Even though my 2 were securely in separate car seats, the terror they raised...... Once the oldest (the girl) learned how to undo her buckle (35 years ago) she let herself out while I was on the hiway....before we bought air conditioned cars. One summer I was driving down one of the major highways with all the windows and she slipped out of her seat....took off her brother's shoes and tossed them out the window! Then got back up in her seat and buckled herself in! Then, same year, later, in November, among one of the coldest days, she undid herself and decided to do something else with his shoes - - she tied the laces together in such a way that I could not remove him from his seat! Non unless I could cut his laces. How many of you mothers travel with scissors in your purse......I did!!! I had a collapsible pair from Fuller Brush..... So - I cut him loose and the poor child had to go into the mall with socks only - and it was soooooo cold. But - the law said she could not ride in the front seat......good little girls scout that I was. Enjoy your new transportation, and remember all the shoes you are not going to have to replace and all the potential stitches you will not have to endure!
