Botwi I so happy you finally found a place where you felt comfortable. That's great news, and I don't think it matters which "church" sponsors it. I'm raising my glass to toast you with many happy years and returns and to congratulate you on the first step of the rest of your growth!

t-bone posted from his reading: God as Judge who holds every man responsible for the choices he makes. and from my understanding of Scripture this is truth. And - - when we look at this, also from his reading: how God determines to carry out the decrees of His will not by violating, but by using human personality to bring it to pass. The term "using" bothers me; I guess it's old twit terms that recall possession! However: I remember being taught back in those days by a godly man whose motives I had no reason to suspect, that when we were born again, God created a new spirit in each of us when we were born again. It's not such a far stretch to understand that...since he knows our very frame, and has the hairs on our heads enumerated, he could tailor-make spirit which would enhance and be operated by our own unique gifts and strengths that we already had. So - in using the Joseph incident as an example, but pushed up into our time frame where we believers do have our own unique spirits, how wonderful is it that God is able to inspire each of us to select those acts independently of one another which could totally turn around some evil done to one of us, so that many many were blessed AND his name was glorified in the doing of it.

God's good like that

You have all enhanced my appreciation of what God has already done and the statements he's already made over and over about how precious we are to him and the lengths to which he will go to preserve us. I've learned some wonderful things in this thread this evening not only from WW but from a few others. And I can immediately use these things I come down here and read often but never post. Thanks for having me. It's really simple to choose when you have context and understanding. The choice itself is "simple" but the follow-through for the long haul may not be so easy (if you know what I mean). That's why we have each other to help us and pray with and for us to see each new growth ring to maturity. Thanks WordWolf for starting this thread!

Coolchef is correct. At 65 I'm still crankin' although I do seem to need an oil change more frequently than before. Happy Birthday. Please.....please.....please.....tell me that outfit in cathy's picture, is burried deep in the earth....especially the tie...I hope you burned that tie! (but I love you) krys

I believe in a soft answer. I believe it works....as in.... "a soft answer turneth away wrath" which is in Proverbs somewhere, and I really believe Probervs is a rule-book for us. I know linda Z and I have from time to time discussions on some of these threads where one of us has not understood the other, and simple questions with no guile ferret out the appropriate answer and each of us is satisfied and nobody's been hurt. I think, but am not positive, that a soft answer is softly delivered, not yelled, and also does not contain inflamatory language spoken in a gentle tone of voice.

There is no time like the present to enlarge my heart. Each of us by taking on this endeavor will be doing that. "For out of the heart come all the issues of life". I need to learn how to be tougher and not let any minor word wound me to the point that I stop speaking. There are very few threads I will post on, partly because I don't want to be hurt. Some of the rest of the threads aren't worth my keyboard because everybody's fighting and into one-up-man-ship such as what Abi ddiscussed. Thanks for this golden invitation Abi; what a wonderful opportunity to spend a little more time with the Father and some of the 'Spots enlarging and polishing up that wonderful sinless part of myself.

That was funny Abi - - thanks.

WTH - sometimes a broken relationship can't be repaired...or at least not now. in my life, I have one of these. For the time being, I have just suspended him and the embaroiled arguement and parked it someplace where it will do me no further damage, and I don't bother to contact him anymore. In my opinion it's wrong to give up on somebody UNLESS their actoins and words start attacking your family. You can make all the overtures you want, but some people will never change no matter what. If this grinds on you and your family, you have no choice but to walk away and leave them alone. I found it very very hard to do, but it was absolutely necessary. I pray yoour situation is better than mine was.

<---------- makes really weird face as she pours her glass of wine in the sink and puts her glass in the dishwasher Yeowza - that wine was really off. Do you suppose it was just the wine, or were the grapes bad beforehand?

This is also the place where all of TWI's history resides. In one way or another, it's here. Maybe most people who want to know have read it already. Maybe not. Maybe they'll forget and need a refresher. It is a testament to women who were abased, families torn apart, spouses put at odds against each other among some of that history. Sushi has a famous tag line..."the lessons repeat until they are learned". I don't know about you guys, but I know that I don't want to see any repeats. edited to correct a misquote

I used to have one that used a crock pot. I'd really like one that starts with beans from scratch - but will be happy with anything that does not come directly from a can.

Why does it take so long for sentencing? Dec 10? this is the end of august! I don't understand that. Do it now and get it over with.

Indeed we do - - that's why we hold on to the petals of the sweetest flowers with our widdle feet! Not to worry, I don't have to stop at your garden!

Sorry Waysider, that is incorrect. Race is a scientific reality and there are consistent differences between races in humans and ofher creatures as well. We just need to be careful how we use the words and use the right ones. I don't care what or who you are, but if you want to fight pit bulls and train them to hurt each other so you can make money on your bets, you really don't belong in the same society I chose to live in, and we have laws, and if you break them, you pay the price.

I loved it too. It was a pleasant diversion today. Mr. Ductape, I'll take the liquor .........

Happy Birthday! May everything be a blessing to you all day.

Some people have considered using a man-made CZ to save money. The idea is to put all their funds toward the purchase of a house...while having acceptable looking wedding jewelry. Knowing what I know now - I might have been tempted to go that route myself so long ago if the facsimile was available.

Rottie it's not you who needs to unsub it's the idiot who made fun of you so you were so embarrassed. I'm glad you enjoyed your caper and I hope you don't let this put you off your next appointment. Learning something you always wanted to do makes treasures of memories and you should enjoy it. And if you are the idiot who burst her bubble and I find out who you are BEWARE. There are gangsters all over this state!

I believe they have elevated "bait and switch" to an art form.

I get the website. I understand some of the connections. However, it was my understanding that all of these study materials were copyrited...and TWI held it. So - how can somebody, individually or as a corporation, sell these materials - - unless they are acting FOR the owners of that copyright. Do you understand my quandary?
