Many many happy returns in the days to come.

Do you think that if we started a "Go Away Larry" thread, that he would get the message and stay away?

There are all stages of life in there except full adults. When the weather or climate warms, those pupae who are close to maturity, finish maturation and emerge. This will continue to happen until all the pupae have emerged....and there is really no telling how many of them are there. This is how Nature sets it up so that next spring, the hive is ready to go on a moment's notice. The eggs and larvae will quickly become pupae and more adults will emerge quickly. Why am I saying this???? The few you have seen, were not hiding, but rather they were close to maturity and you just encouraged them to emerge. The nest is lovely, and would make a great attraction to any home, but the only safe way to do that is to take it back outside, and put it in an area where the wind and rain cannot blow it apart. Let it sit undisturbed for at least 2 solid freezes over the winter. Sometime in Feb or early March it should be safe enough to bring in and enjoy it. But, first put it in the garage, and see....make sure there are no pupae getting ready to emerge. Enjoy it!

All you guys are just jealous because rodents have their teeth grow forever!

You guys have it all wrong. All a squirrel wants to do is take care of his nuts!
-
I love you ex-70, but you've got this all wrong! Squirrels are wonderful animals. How about those fluffy tails? Who else has something like that? And who else can climb anything it wants to? I love them, they get my vote!

Those "shake lights" do work very well. Two weeks ago we had a bad storm and the power went out for a short time. I shook my light exactly 100 times (just to see how long it would last) and laid it on the desk. The whole room was lit, dimly, but I could walk around and not kill myself - and I could read on my desk. The light never wavered for more than 90 min until the power came back. The only bad thing is that if you charge it and leave it, the "power" dissipates very quickly...so shake it just before you want to use it.

I got a flashlight with a long barrel. There is a stationary cylinder which has wire wrapped around it, and a smaller metal cylinder shaped like a battery. Shake the flashlight quickly and you produce enough electricity that the battery will hold for about an hour's use. As long as you have enough food to give you enough energy to shake this thing, you'll have light!

If you get news of individuals, please post it here - - for our GreaseSpot Family. If you've evacuated and are safe, please check in so we know where you are and that you are safe. Thank you.

Anything that would make the lives of older people, or people with infirmities would be a good idea. Anything that would help the older generation is a good financial bet since we have such a large aging population. This is what I would like - I have arthritis in my hands and dealing with a telephone is the pits. - - or the TV remote. This is what I would like: A large TV remote that stays in one place on the arm of my chair or on a tv table. Instead of small buttons which are sometimes hard for me to push, I would like a large TV remote where I can just touch the number or symbol instead of pushing a button. I'd like the kind of touch screen like I find on many ATM machines. I'd like a telephone that does the same thing, only I want it in speaker phone only....I don't want to hold a telephone a long time some days. I want a large touch screen so I don't have to put my glasses on.

That's great! I'll bet you're not fat anymore :)

RumRunner said: A reasonable test except that the earth's gravitational constant is not 10 m/sec (squared) it is 9.8 on average with the understanding that the earth's gravitational field is not uniform over the entire surface. Gravity anomalies have been mapped extensively from space and vary widely as much as +/- .2 m/sec (squared). I assume they used 10 m/sec (squared) for ease of calculation which is about as scientifically honest as calling pi = 3.1 I'm pretty sure you're right about ease of calculation. Usually they don't permit calculators during tests like this. I noticed that all the answers were combinations of 1 and 0 with various decimal values in there. I think they were more interested in finding out if the student knew how to use the formula. If that was a real test, I'd like to see the rest of it to see more of what was in the curriculum. There were only 26 questions so I'm sure there had to be more the students were supposed to know. And it is very nice to see you here. I've kind of missed your font from time to time.

I couldn't copy it over here either! I did pretty good. There would be something very wrong if the science teacher didn't get an A you kmow!

Hope you had a great day. You deserve it - - cuz you're a rare human.

I normally won't be totally unclothed in warm conditions since something in light cotten absorbes the perspiration which very freely flows in warm conditions. Otherwise, I would probably with no clothing....BUT I do need something on my feet!!!

Of course I am praying too. I think like George so everything he said I say too. I'm very glad we can pray for and with each other.

When the time comes, we should devote a thread here for that congratulatory purpose. Fair is Fair.

the wording of this (following below) makes it seem like God is lazy! Since God has foreknowledge this we know, but wants a rest from his works, (this we know from the bible) Is in not possible that he established things like righteousness and justice so that he didnt have to stand around and busy himself with foreknowledge and in so doing; enable people the capacity to have works that are judged in a righteousness setting?

Thanks Abi. I needed to be reminded of those things. How much richer our lives are, I think, because we have each other here!

T-bone, maybe others needed that explanation, but for me, your reputation preceeded your explanation. Generally, I am wary and it seems I'm almost always looking for twit-like lies etc to make sure I don't swallow another piece of garbage. I've found that it seems to have taken me a very long time until I trusted my own self to tell the difference between the 2.

South eastern New Mexico in the vicinity of the Sacramento Mts and northward toward Capitan DOES have cedar. It's prime cedar territory although there aren't that many cedar trees there. I do know what you mean about "sinus hell". When I lived there, the ONLY pollen that bothered me was that - - and I have a laundry list of east coast trees to which I am allergic.
