I was lying on my living room floor with a glass of iced tea. I think it may have been the hottest day of the summer that year. I was so excited that I cheered even though I was all alone.

That is really too bad - - - you never had the blessing of grandparents. As far as taking care of parents etc......it should be easy to extrapolate from "honor thy father and thy mother". It sounds simplistic, but "walking in love" is really how it's done. Walking in love does not always mean making nice-nice. I haven't always gotten it right, but that's what I try to do.

Bolshevik I don't think they taught you correctly about taking care of parents. Many parents won't need help of any kind from their children. Some may need some financial help and others may need physical taking care of. You are not required to provide your parents with a retirement and you don't automatically receive some kind of inheritance from your kids. I'd like to suggest that you teach your children how to take care of you by providing whatever help your own parents (and your wife's parents) may need. Even if all that's required is going over to their house and checking on them once in a while or every few days depending on their age etc.

I checked the first two options in the recommendations. I am highly in favor of further education be it college, auto mechanic school, etc. But I know of people who have been quite successful and they had no formal training. One runs a marina on Long Island and another runs a huge aquarium store and distributorship of fish and equipment.

And then there was the usual " make everybody feel guiltier" idea of telling us peons who only moved around in the twigs etc and knew nothing else, that it was our fault, we contributed to the death because we weren't - witnessing enough - abundant sharing enough - praying for our leadership enough.......pick whichever one you think you want to work this time..... I was pretty unschooled in the inner ways of twi when vp died. I asked why he died....I'm thinking people die, he's a bit young but what eventually took his life.....and I was told he just burned himself out working so hard for us. It was many years later that I began to get an inkling of what was going on....and I had no idea that it was cancer until I saw the death certificate either here or at WayDale.

Congratulations! You have 35 students in one classroom? Did you get any training in classroom management?

There were some who grew quite old. Mrs. Wierwille, Dorothy Owens, I remember a few others from hdq or there a bouts. In other parts of the state we would see older people at very large meetings but I don't know if they were "members" or some who just came along for the ride. The elderly had no blame since everyone grows old and wears out.

Reminds me of sitting in a required Sunday phone hook up.....dress your best in the middle of July. And after it's over....you can't go home yet because after they finish refreshments, you're on cleanup...so you have to carry furniture from the back of the house...put it back in it's place, dust down all the wood work, vacuum the carpets, wipe down the kitchen and clean the "public" bathroom.

I think it's a wonderful piece of satire!

nope - - not on my own posts or my own profile.....but I see them on other people's. I do see the one for gallery. I've always had that one.

I think there very well may be something too that. I know that almost all children and some adults who have suffered a significant brain injury can regain a significant portion of function by patterning. This is where a therapist moves the limb through certain steps. It takes quite some time, but sure enough whatever has been patterned in this way can provoke an injured brain to perform that very same function. So maybe it is possible to do the same thing with ideas.....more than just forming a habit....actually causing a change in the brain.

I did both of those and still have not got the icons to appear. Is it possible that they show up on OTHER PEOPLE's pages but not my own. A post or 2 up, George says he sees them! I will live until it gets figured out. There are probably more important things to fiddle with, so I can wait until it gets figured out.

There is no "icon" next to my posts where someone can click to add me as a friend or send me a private message. Can you fix this? or did I do something wacky. Being friends is nice....but it's more important to get private messages to keep annoying comments and scathing remarks off the main boards.

I don't think I'd put the title "Christian" in the same sentence with this group. With the noise and shouting, it appears to me that the group is trying to drive a spirit INTO the poor boy, rather than remove one.

Twi wasn't the only group to just pray that way father. I've seen and heard other groups that do the same thing. I think a lot of people used it as a time filler while they thought of something else to add to make themselves look good IMO.
