What does it take to realize the MOG is really scum?
krys replied to JeffSjo's topic in About The Way
I don't think it's so hard to pick out the scum but you need to know how to do it. Those younger members may not be able to do it since they don't have enough life experience.....but if something looks odd, keep it in the front of your mind and build on it, if necessary. I know that if I saw something that I wasn't sure of, prayer would often tell me....not right away sometimes, but I'd see other stuff to add to what I already knew. Watch the little things. How do the married men treat their wives in public? That's a biggie because sometimes they don't realize how much they give away that way. I saw a very recently graduated Corps couple come to a class we were running. We had 3 people who worked far enough away that they would skip supper, or go home for dinner, or some fast food place and probably be late. We had a sandwich and a glass of milk waiting for them when they arrived and sometime their timing was so close that they didn't finish the sandwich. The man and his wife were to be our branch coordinators and he grabbed me by my shoulders and walked me down the hall and then lit into me for playing favorites....and classes don't make fancy refreshments.....yadda yadda. I was really taken aback....he was more into the rules than shepherding the people. That was a scum alert....however he did ease up a little when he realized that this was the real world....not way land where everything works on the same clock. In the real world some people have 90 minute commutes or longer and it they want to take a class, putting a littlle substance in their bellies allows them to concentrate. Hang back and keep your eyes open and you'll see everything you need to see to pick out the scum. In years gone by, maybe approach didn't work. BUT at that time we weren't all convinced that some were scum and now we know better. There was one who had been around a couple of years, and he seemed to me to be a little to friendly with the women. He was a bachelor. I couldn't decide if he was just being chivalrous with coats and doors and stuff or if there was more to it. One evening we were gathering for a class and you know how every bod kisses everybody else......well.....he kissed me a little more than "hello I'm glad to see you"...a couple of weeks later he did the same thing. Now it's not that I'm so good looking etc. It's just their patterns, their habits that eventually give them away. I'm sorry if this is too long. You'll have to trust the judgment of people in other areas to find about about those you don't see all the time. -
You all forgot that it is the media's job to go ferret out every speck of dirt and whip it into a frenzy and bombard us with it. It is the media that decides what is news and what's news is what will sell newspapers or gather the masses in front of the tube at 5,6, and 11.

Take it to an experienced jeweler. If you don't want it anymore, have him pop out the emerald part and the dove. He can weigh the gold and give you an estimate of what the gold is worth. It's probably worth more than you paid for it since the price of gold has risen so much.

remember how much they cost???

I admire his brain! How is it that some people can think like that? Outstanding!!

You worked hard for this. I'm glad you finally can see it "in the flesh". Congratulations. I'm proud of you.

Roy, everyone has given you excellent advice here. I can't add anything more except to say that. I want you to know we all want the best for you.

Accept my condolences too, please. Abigail, every time you have a vignette such as this to share with us, such a picture forms in my mind! I imagine that at least sometimes your family is good for a hearty chuckle too from time to time.

It should be a wonderful day for you!!! Happy Birthday

Even though this is belated by now, these birthday wishes come sincerely. Thanks for everything you've done here.

I admit I was naive - - but it was a sign of the times for us college seniors. I was in my dorm room changing into "work" clothes for my work in the lab. I started walking over to the bio building and everybody was coming back from there as most of the professors canceled classes. I decided that all the animals would live a while if I didn't show up....and the worst of my lot would be one or 2 autoclave loads....and I really wanted my friends around me, so I walked back with them. The college, now university was small and new. Undergoing constant construction meant there were building materials nearly all over and it also means mud, mud, mud. The engineering students found a huge pole and rigged a pulley system for a flag. [almost 1 1/2 years and no flag!!]...3 really sturdy tent stays and three strong wires connecting the pole to them....voila....flagpole! Somebody remembered his boy scout training and raised the flag all the way up and then slowly down to half staff. There were 2 large battery operated lights shining on it. Word of mouth got all the students to the flagpole at 7:30 and the crowd grew as the evening wore on. Students read certain poems and other writings, a few professors did too. It was a quiet time but also fear started sinking in...."how dare they execute the President of the USA". There was some singing...somebody actually had the cojones to pray and then somebody played taps and that's when I lost it.[and so did plenty of others] I think it hit us very hard and I think that was because it was the first time the "bubble" we thought was around us was pierced.

You're wired just fine brainfixed. I wouldn't want to be converted into somebody else's image either. There are plenty of people I like a whole lot, and some people have abilities or traits that I like a whole lot too. But I wouldn't take kindly to anybody trying to make me over to be just like them!

There were way too many evils planned and carried out just to suck money out of a neophyte and lure him/her into that class and future tortuous hours of "who shot john". The class! The class! And nothing but the class!! Too much emphasis was placed on money and not enough on people.

Somehow I really don't think she plans on retirement. A seat on the Board of Directors would suit her just fine.

Yes, but at other times, there were real things to take care of! Heal ligaments torn off the back of a shoulder during a waitress's shift. And/or other things, restore fellowship or get rid of condemnation. It was a large multifaceted package.

I was pretty good at that because I wanted to be. I practiced every chance I got. It didn't take too long until word got around and people would come to me whom I really didn't know all that well. I began to learn that when somebody trusts you to do that for them, you had a responsibility to protect their hearts and be sure that you never told anybody what you prayed for.....some people get very snoopy!!! Sometimes it somebody asked me to minister to them, they really weren't sick, they just needed praying for. Maybe they needed a little confidence, or just some TLC even though I didn't have any specific revelation I could always pray for their well being, strong spiritual hearts or other generic things but the individual felt cared for....because he was. God showed me and I did some pretty remarkable things because of that. I doubt I'll discuss these things here and now because lately too many people think these things were made up. They came to twi after the abundance of these kinds of healings had started waning and many think that we all made it up. I know for sure that some of it was marginally made up but most of it was genuine....but I don't want to fight about it. I did have a long standing running battle with a Corps person. Since I wasn't Corps, I asked a question about something. She kept saying God wouldn't show you something if you didn't know what it meant. But I knew I "saw" something but didn't understand it. It was several months later I finally did understand it and then I knew that Father was teaching me....showed me something, then added a few things to it to the point where I did get it. The way that God worked with her was not the way He worked with me.....case closed. I still have the same ability, but nobody asks anymore because few people believe it. Somebody just before said if you were ill it was because of your own faulty believing......and so nobody would ask for ministering....who wants to admit faulty believing. Also, all the "smoke your sorry foot out" (in the case of the homo purge) and everybody going 2 by 2....caused everybody to spy on one another or think they were being spyed on. There was little or no genuine love for your fellow believers and very little tenderness. That's another reason that ministering healing fell away IMHO.

Ham you'd be surprised at how frisky older folks can be. There are various medications men can use....but I don't know if women need anything??? It's likely Rozilla could live another 10 years at least! When she dies, perhaps DM will take over the top spot. I'm sure they are clandestinely looking around for something they can mold or pass off as leadership.....something they can make look like a mog. Or maybe not. Maybe they figure if they lay low enough things will just fade into oblivion. They certainly haven't done anything "new". Has there been even so much as a new paragraph let alone a new teaching? No new books.....nothing. All this time and they didn't even send any of there brainy or intellectually capable people to places where they could have learned how to use ancient languages to "research". They don't care....and they appear to be so lazy. I haven't seen a photo of Rozilla in a different dress in 15 years......that black and white printed thing is definitely dated. sigh!

We are blessed to live within these borders AND to have such dedicated men and women working here and abroad to keep us free to live our lives as we choose to live them. We should remember to be thankful every day not just the ones set aside for recognition.

It would take me a while to wrap my brain around some of this stuff. I understood and followed all his arguments and statements but imho some things were left out...... When I was a mother of small children, sometimes I had to correct them - - egads - even punish them! I'd have to reconcile compassion with justice. I guess it could be done.....but I have to think about it a while.
-
It is a time of real celebration. That was a great day, indeed.

Hey there - - would you use some of those tools on me????I've got a few spots that could use some liposuction=type attention.....but the rest of it you can keep.

I'm glad to see you back Psalmie! Here, I've poured this marshmallow cream in your hair and tossed in a few meatballs just for fun! FOOD FIGHT WITH PSALMIE

Right-e-o Shellon! I think that's why we all long for a kind of chat at each new "birthing" of GreaseSpot. Friends made there in chat are friends for life I think! But that was a one time thing. That was the only chat board that stayed open when you left it so we would leave messages there. All day long we'd do "fly by's"....you could do absentee chats.....leave a message for Shell and she would pick it up next time she logged in. I'm grateful the All%6ns for getting the ball rolling - - but where would we be without Pawtuckett. If he hadn't picked up the ball and runn with it twi would have almost gotten off scott free. Now we're always here chasing their tails and being a thorn in their flesh. That's one of my favorite things to do....almost as good as sex, don't you think? Hi Mr. Linder. :wave:Hurry up with your coffee now, it's almost time to go spy on the masses, and you have a 10:30 fellowship to get ready for......hurry hurry Mr. Linder.

Agreed Bramble.....maybe close to 9 or 10 although for a 4th grader he's an excellent speller!
